Came here because a friend recommended it as a place to eat before visiting Williams and Graham down the street. Sat promptly even though they were quite busy. Have a cute patio as well. Service was friendly. Had the Margherita pizza and tasted very fresh. My only complaint, confusion really, was what these guys are going for atmosphere wise. Everyone is dressed up and the space is classy. But they were playing some crazy rap. Just not sure how I felt about that.

Not really sold on Bar Dough. With all the excellent reviews I was expecting to be blown away, but everything fell slightly short except for the service. Our server, wish I would have gotten the young ladies name was superb. As for the food, we ordered practically half the menu and found everything to be too salty. Margherita pie was poorly executed and that should be a staple, however the Commendatore is worth trying. Will return to try other dishes in hopes for a better overall experience the next time around.

I’d give it five — but my hubby didn’t love it. He picked the wrong dish and he wasn’t proud of it. I picked lamb shank, served for a cave man. He picked the tagliatelle, just want a fan. The octopus app was so out of this world. And I grinned from the Italian wine as I swirled. A laid back atmosphere in our causal town. But quite nice enough for a suit or a gown. So, Bar dough: four stars –almost five– for you… I promise to come back for another review!

The first time I came here I really enjoyed this place. Second time the menu changed up a bit. I thought it’s kinda pricey for pan seared and a lamb shank. Didn’t know everything was ala cart, but it definitely was not worth the money. Their happy hour items and pizzas are good. I enjoyed the grilled octopus, margarita pizza, and meatballs on the first visit.

We LOVE Bar Dough! After hearing numerous amazing things about this new restaurant in Highlands, my wife and I had to give it a shot. The restaurant is both hip and cozy. They have many framed pictures of Brigitte Bardot, which is a clever play on words. We started off with an appetizer of their garlic bread, which was melt in your mouth tastey. We then split two pizzas: The Margherita and the 3X Cheese. Both were light and excellent. If you’re looking for great pizza in a cool setting, check out Bar Dough!

Ever since I came here I’ve been craving Tiramisu and its been almost 2 week… The entrees are just as amazing! Every bite felt like an orgasm that kept you begging for more. The braised lamb shank was some of the most tender meast I have ever had the pleasure of eating, while the Margherita pizza here was by far the best one I have ever tasted. Cooked in a wood fired oven the pizza was cooked to near perfection. I honestly think I could have eaten 3 pizzas by myself. To my favorite part, dessert. There are simply no words to describe it, I’ve ordered Tiramisu from 5 star restaurants to hole in the wall places and cannot remember having one taste quiet this good. By far the highlight of my night and I will definitely be back for more. Food aside the service was also second to none. With my friend having nut allergies the waiter went completely out of his way to accommodate for her, regularly checking in and made great conversation. This is definitely now one favorite restaurants however I will say this place gets very loud so might not be the best place for a first date.

Speechless, because speaking can’t be heard My husband and I are foodies and we live a block away from this fun little spot. Food– great but service to deliver is SLOW… It took almost an hour to get to our meal. The food was fantastic and the wine prices very reasonable. Bright vibrant atmosphere. The downside– you can’t tell your dinner mates anything about your meal until you leave. It is SONOISY! The cemet floors and high ceilings make for an awkward screaming match or a creepy staring contest with others. Sign language lessons with the appetizer menu might be a great addition. I won’t go back due to the noise level but we might get it to go…

Of course this place is all about pizza and pasta — hence the name. For a girl who avoids wheat and dairy I was worried when a friend picked this hip spot. Never fear! I had an amazing meal that was so yummy and gluten free. Olives, shisito peppers(cheese sauce on the side), sunchokes and the most delicious ribeye(split between two meat hungry ladies). Yum. I will be back if I’m in the area — maybe there’s a gluten free way to sample some of those yummy pastas…

Despite what many might expect, Denver is KILLINGIT in the pizza department. There is so much good pizza to be had. We were looking for a late-night meal, and I’d heard good things. I went in expecting a pizza shop, but this is so much more. I didn’t realize it was a full-on Italian restaurant. We had some delicious olives, good cocktails, and pizza. Since it was my first visit I tried a classic margherita pizza. Everything about it was great, but I was especially impressed by the dough. Thin but not a cracker. Chewy, a bit sour, but still light. It was delicious. I can’t wait to go back to try the rest of the menu.

Items Ordered: Margherita — tomato, basil, fresh mozzarella Meatball Sangwich — chuck, pork belly & pancetta, crushed tomato, pecorino, mozzarella open-face on focaccia Mezzaluna — butternut squash, pickled red kuri squash, pinenut & raisin agrodulce Polenta — fontina, butter, corn Budino Tiramisu — mascarpone mousse, espresso soaked lady fingers & chocolate chunks, almonds Pumpkin Seed Brittle Gelato Recently opened on West 32nd Avenue with a Modern Italian focus and highly praised Happy Hour beginning at 3pm, Bar Dough from Max MacKissock seemed like perfect place to kick off Wednesday evening, particularly with Williams & Graham just down the street and an Avalanche game at Pepsi Center beginning at eight o’clock. No doubt an anticipated opening, the Chef a known entity with several previous local restaurants seeing varying levels of success across the years, entry to Bar Dough presents patrons with pleasant hostess at a podium lined with Chris Bianco’s canned tomatoes, the focus on product immediately evident even before seating or perusing the menu. Long and narrow up front, seating at the bar divided from banquets by long communal high-tops, a look at Bar Dough’s interior speaks of a minimalist approach and with retro music playing overhead the food and beverage takes a look at Italy by regions, the happy hour a veritable bargain with the full menu offered from 5:00pm till close Perhaps a bit too hip in terms of service, the young man assigned my table keen on words such as «awesome» and«bro,» orders were batched as not to overwhelm the table and starting with an open-face Meatball«Sangwich» the value early arrival was immediately evident, just $ 7 exchanged for two sizable balls of beef, pork belly and pancetta with almost no binder atop crispy, dense focaccia drenched in crushed tomatoes and a bubbling layer of pecorino plus mozzarella. Deeply discounting a competent Margherita that saw a bit less rise to the crust than I would prefer, despite a good blister and taste, far more intrigue was offered by the subsequent round of polenta and pasta, the former lent great crunch by dehydrated kernels juxtaposing butter and Fontina while each handmade pocket of Butternut Squash was exceedingly delicate with bright acidity added by pickled red kuri squash and a lightly sweetened sauce of vinegar and raisins. Oversold by the server on «Pumpkin Seed Brittle» Gelato that tasted like little more than vanilla with unsalted pepitas chopped into the mix, those looking for a sweet ending are encouraged to instead trust rumors of the city’s best ladyfingers, each espresso soaked bite enriched by creamy mascarpone in a dish that lives up to hybrid naming by harkening both pudding and Tiramisu.

The name says it all«bar». At 6:00 this place feels like a bar. The music was turned up and guests got louder because they had to hell over the music. Not the best atmosphere for dropping over $$$ on dinner. As for the food, it was great. The service was also great as well even though we sat at the bar. The main reason for 3 stars is because it got so loud all I could think about was leaving. Too bad I really liked the food and the Italian sodas.

This is by far one of our favorite restaurants in all of Denver. We had been meaning to go since they were open but every time we went it was packed. We were lucky enough that tonight they had an opening at their bar. Everything is brand new, of course and they have 2 tvs. Chase, one of the bartenders, greeted us immediately as we sat down and explained to us the menu. We ended up ordering the lamb with a side of polenta as well as the spicy pizza(which was recommended to us from the manager of highland tap [next door]). The lamb was the best lamb we have had in Denver. It’s fall off the bone! The polenta was delicious as well and went perfectly with it. The pizza was amazing– thin and crispy! And of course I had to have desert. The tiramisu was light and crispy– they definitely took a classic and made it modern. We cannot wait to come back for happy hour and dinner again!

Girl’s night dinner and dranks took place at Bar Dough this past Friday. Friend and I had an 8:30 reservation, walked in, place was popping off. Crowded to the brim, 3 people deep at the bar, minimum 45 minute wait for the two girls who naively assumed they’d get a table. Highly advise you to call ahead to make a reservation. Ordered the octopus for the starter, half plate of pappardelle, and the commendatore(tongue twister) pizza. A+ for our server’s octopus reco, charred and not chewy, a slightly sweet mention from the eggplant, pistachios for texture. Is there anything better than a plate of pappardelle in lamb bolognese? Al dente noodles, flavorful and hearty meat sauce to beat back the cold winter chills. Our tummies were regretfully full by the time we got to the pizza but the one slice that we each ate thoroughly satisfied our inner meat(and garlic/bad breath) lover. Our server was incredibly attentive and sported one of the most impressive and well groomed beards I’ve ever seen. Place is a little loud but no matter, business is good. Couples galore sprinkled around the space so I assume it’s a popular date spot. Come share a few plates with an SO or a group of friends, Bar Dough guarantees a good night.

Hot and new is an understatement for Bar Dough, the perfect evening meal on a cold Denver winter’s eve. The interior is sleek and modern, an upscale Italian eatery. No you will not find red, green and white flags anywhere or mosaics on the wall depicting a vineyard or gondola ride. Not that I mind the latter, but Bar Dough is a bit more upscale that a traditional Italian joint. Getting a table without a reservation was easy on a Friday night. It was also pretty early(before 7 pm) and the week after New Year’s, when a lot of folks are still trying to commit to resolutions and the sun sets before 5 pm. Happy hour looks appealing, but my +1 and I were in it to win it in terms of ordering. We each tried the $ 40 tasting menu, which is served family style. Three courses of food served family style to be accurate. This included garlic bread, meatballs, arugula salad, pappardelle pasta, bucatini, scampi and lemon chicken. Granted, the portions were smaller but that was a good thing! There’s no way two people could eat that much… we even took home leftovers that were just as good the next day. Also, try the house red wine or a limoncello spritz since there are several to choose from. The grapefruit/basil sprits is quite refreshing! Welcome to the neighborhood, Bar Dough!

Sat at the bar with a group of friends before an Avs game. The bartender was great and very attentive. Beer list wasn’t extensive, but for my friends drinking cocktails/wine it was exceptional. I had the Commendatore pizza which was amazing. The fennel sausage and prosciutto worked great together with the garlic oil. The pizza was filling for one person.

Went here last night at the suggestion of a friend… Upon entering, the place is adorable. Great lighting, nice subway tiling, wonderful set-up and the staff was incredibly friendly from the start! I started with a spritzer… which they make with limoncello and prosecco. I asked the server if the lemon basil would be too sweet, and he explained the taste perfectly in terms that I could make a legit decision. It’s such a good drink I had to have 2(ok fine, 3). Their happy hour menu is stellar, and incredibly well priced. We ordered the pizza margherita and it was huge! Huge in the best way possible, all for 6 dollars! I cannot believe it! We ordered the olives as well. Tasty and well-seasoned. Finally, we chose the meatball sandwich sans bread… absolutely mouth watering. 4 drinks, 5 apps, all for under $ 50. The place started out a little emptier when I first arrived at 4, but by the time we left it was hoppin and the crowd was diverse… there were couples, young peeps, older peeps, families, etc. i cannot wait to go back!

I LOVETHISPLACE! Such an amazing addition to the neighborhood. Chef Max, Manager Steve and the staff have really put together an amazing spot. The wood fire oven is NO joke and the pizzas are delicious. And so is everything else. They truly have mastered the idea of «elevated Italian». Here’s what we had the delight to taste during the meal: Meatballs(HELLO, ITHASPANCETTAINIT!) Brassicas(perfect light blend antipasto) Garlic squid — super tasty & the fennel was the perfect accent Tagliatelle — again with the pancetta. ANDCLAMS Pappardelle — excellent bolognese Garlic bread — homemade foccacia — party in the mouth 3 cheese Pizza — so light and delicate — perfect crispy crust Mountain Man pizza — this is a busy pizza but i LOVED it and the calabrian chile honey drizzle is the best!

Came here for brunch on a sunny Sunday and sat on the patio. They have a great drink menu and I couldn’t decide which beer to get. Our server was kind enough to bring me some tasters. We ordered the meatball appetizer to start and so began our amazing experience. For lunch we had the Slow Roasted Pork Shoulder. It had lots of flavor and was perfect. We even saved room for some dessert. Chocolate cake that was rich and yummy. We moved to the bar as the sun went down and the bartenders are the nicest I have ever met. They even gave us a sample of their house made Limóncello. It was divine. Such a wonderful place, I can’t wait to come back.

I had a chance to sneak in on opening night(as a paying customer, not a guest). We had a group of 7, and it did take a bit to get a table, but we hung out next door at HTB so nobody minded. At the waiter’s suggestion, we dined«family» style. Starting with pizzas, don’t miss the clam. Trust me. The spicy meat pizza was also solid, but the clam is what you need to drive across town for. Also the crust is maybe the best in Denver. Small plates: meatballs are phenomenal, as was the straccietta(which is burrata. I could live on burrata, and this one is amazing). We had a mash-up of entrees: pasta with clams, prawns, tortellini, and meat skewers. I was hesitant to order the skewers(it just didn’t sound«italian» enough to me), but it may have been the best dish on the menu. The wine list was well-crafted and affordable; the service was very solid. All around great addition to the ‘hood.
