I went to the South Broadway store and one of the items I needed, the Broadway store was sold out of. They called their North Pecos store and they had the item. The employee told me that they could have it brought down by their truck the next day, but I wanted to check out the other store so I picked it up myself. They had my item ready and waiting for me when I got there! By the way, I thought that was excellent customer service by the employees. They went out of their way to help me. When I got to the Pecos store it was larger than I had expected. Once again, I spent more time than I thought looking through the store because I was just mesmerized by the amount of product they carry. Whenever I had a question, it was easy to find help and they were more than happy to help me by answering my questions or taking me to the area of the product I was asking about. All in all, my experiences with both stores were positive and I will definitely go back. My only dilemma is deciding which store to visit because I live about the same distance to both of them. I don’t take other people’s opinions to litterally. I would rather come to my own conclusions and I’m glad I decided to go into the stores and see what they were like. You never know if someone is just having a bad day, and we all have them!

This store is divided into two parts. The shop in the back is outstanding. The employees are polite, respectful, knowledgeable, friendly, patient and honest. I’ve stopped by quite a few times and it’s never hard to find awesome new gear. The employees are always informative, but never pushy. The selection of high quality knives is fantastic. The prices are always fair and competitive. Even when they don’t have a specific item I’m looking for they show me comparable items they have and tell me where to find the gear that best fits my needs. Would highly recommend this store to anyone outdoorsy. I’m not as big of a fan of the shop in the front, but I don’t have anything negative to say about them either.

This Army Surplus store is laid out much better than the one on Broadway. It’s easier to move around, the items are displayed well and organized and you’re not bumping into ten people every time you turn a corner. The staff was nice enough, if not a little bored or distracted. Didn’t matter. We went in for boots and some clothing items, found them quickly and departed. A good experience altogether!

I love this place! This location is owned by the same people who own the S. Broadway location(whatever that means to ya). The staff is always friendly and informed. The manager seems like a very no-nonsense kinda lady. but she was very gracious with making some exchanges which were a bit later than their grace period. She understood our disappointment in the product and exchanged them with no hassle. We shop here a lot. We love it here. Now it is even bigger with the addition of the new building.

The words«Git-R-Done» come to my mind every time I walk into this place. I have had a love for Army surplus stores since I was a young lad. My dad and I used to walk around the one in my hometown on a regular basis. They all have one thing in common: they smell like canvas or a burlap sack. This one is no different. They have recently expanded this location and have separated the hard-goods from the soft-goods. The hard-goods are now next door in a different building. I think this makes it easier navigating all the aisles of stuff they have. Now my tactical pants are separate from my paracord and if you can’t find it, the staff will always lend a helping hand. There is something for everybody here. Whether you’re the dude that likes to wear camo everyday or the lady that needs a can of pepper spray; they have it all.

Camo, Carharrt, and customer service-all rolled into one! Thinking about my high school and college years, buying and browsing at Army/Navy surplus stores where they actually carried REAL surplus items, I decided to check out the areas local offerings. This store is right off 36 to the North. They have a ton of stuff –HUGE Carhartt area if you are into that kinda thing. Oh and tons of camo… which I cannot understand the trend or why people would really want to wear it, unless you are a hunter, but… so be it… if you like it… go there! It’s an army store afterall! Also, lots of cold weather gear, boots, clothes, and coats. The store was pretty crowded when I was there, but that didn’t stop the really nice salepeople who worked there! The cool used bags I remembered from my high school days are gone, and replaced with newly made items, not really meant for troops. Alot of them have patches on them which would probably appeal to alot of young teens. I came in looking for a pea coat as I remembered getting a really nice quality one at a surplus store in Philly in college. They have a ton of them, THICK wool, and about $ 100. Great deal. And the best part… made in the good ‘olé US of A! They didn’t have the size I wanted in stock, so they offered to call their other location for me. The salesperson also took my phone number to let me know, and I was pleasantly surprised when she called back in less than two hours, and told me the coat would be there on Friday! Woohoo! Fun place to browse around and nice staff to boot!
