WOW!!! This is the best BBQ I have ever eatin. The owner Trevor makes some seriously good Brisket. Make sure you try the wontons also the brisket queso. Just about Everything is homemade there and you can tell it too. I had the jalapeño smoked sausage and even the bread it was on tasted fresh and amazing. Also my friends tried the brisket and said they loved it. Order the kitchen sink if your hungry!

Man this place is good! From the pulled pork to the bread pudding. There’s love put into this food. Oh and the fresh cut home style chips are simple and amazing! We were craving good BBQ and were about to drive 30 minutes away when I saw this on Unilocal.Keep up the good work!

First time to eat here. Staff is very friendly. Awesome daily specials! I had the Brisket sandwich. It was excellent! Great flavor. The side dishes were very good as well. They use quality ingredients and it comes out in the flavor. I will be back to give the Ribs a try. Also, try the Boudin Wontons. Sounds weird, but they are incredible. Overall, great experience, and I will return soon!

We were greeted by an empty restaurant on a Friday night. The staff member that helped us was interesting to say the least. He didn’t know when to stop talking. He was nearly to the point of being rude. We were having a somewhat serious and private discussion, and he decided to share his unwanted opinion on the matter. We ordered the chop and sauce brisket sandwich special with potato salad, and the 2 meat plate with brisket, sausage, Mac and cheese and beans. My sandwich was simple. Not a lot of flavor. It was a 4:1 bread to meat ratio and I was a little disappointed. The potato salad also had bacon and chives. The brisket on the plate was stringy, although you get a pound of each meat. It’s a lot of food, but very middle of the line. It wasn’t bad and they are still new, but there is room for improvement. Unrelated or not, it’s 3 in the morning and I can’t sleep because my stomach hurts. Coincidence? Who knows.

Recently changed ownership and this place is great. I never visited when it was Rawson’s but the Brisket is great. It’s a typical BBQ joint with the regular sides and dishes. Can’t go wrong.

Excellent BBQ and cold beer! We got the boudin wontons and brisket queso for appetizers. Both were great, but definitely try the wontons. I had the jalapeño sausage and brisket sandwich with chips. It was definitely worth the trip. If you’re into good BBQ check it out!

Came here with the family. Everyone loved what they got. The Boudin Wontons were awesome. We had the Kitchen Sink, brisket, pulled pork… All good choices. The Mac and cheese was was good and the BBQ beans were the best I have had. Great atmosphere.

Cross Roads Texas is a little bump on 380 in between Denton and Little Elm. There’s very few things here. A Sonic, Traildust Steakhouse, a donut shop, Auto Zone, a Mexican place and now a parttime BBQ pop up. First off, this is only open on Saturdays and Sundays. It’s on the NW corner of 380/University and FM424 in an empty lot. You see the big smoker from the highway and the white trailer next to it. As of this post, the place has been open for two months now. So on a cold october morning I passed by and decided to stop. You smell the meat cooking as you walk up and with a number of choices, you cannot go wrong. Brisket, Burnt Ends, Jalapeño Sausage, Ribs, Hot Links. You can get the meat by the half pound($ 7, ½ lb) or as sandwiches(mostly $ 6 each) or hot links at $ 2 each. There are also sides for $ 2 each. Smoked Beans, cole slaw and one other, but I forgot that at the moment. I went with a burnt ends sandwich. To me they have the most flavor and I love the char on the meat. It came on a thick bun and I had the option of onions and pickles and for an extra $.50 I could have slaw on it, but I got a side of it instead. My first taste was the slaw, and it’s a bit different then most. It is vinagary with a peanut aftertaste. Red and green cabbage with carrot slivers. It has a bit of a spice bite to it at the end and very crisp. The sandwich starts with a thick, sturdy bun that can really hold the meat and sauce without getting soggy. The burnt ends were just what I thought they’d be. Meaty, smoky and full of flavor. They almost didn’t need any sauce, but I did want to try it. The sauce was sweet and smoky with a hint of a bite at the end of it. I can only imagine what the rest of the food tastes like, but I think I have to go back. Hopefully down the road they will open up an actual store. It will be worth it. And I think Denton would be perfect for it. I do enjoy hole in the wall places, and a bbq place that’s on the side of the road can be hit or miss… this is a home run.
