Delivery just wasn’t good. Mains were greasy and flavorless. Fried rice had a terrible taste… we just tossed it. It was like bad, cheap take out and we expected more for the cost.

The owner of the restaurant is an Asian woman. She does not know how to talk to customers, haven’t seen a restaurant/business owner like her. She is very stingy about how people pick up food to make a Mongolian bowl. I couldn’t believe how she could talk to customers, I felt the staff was treated the same after seeing an experience there.

I don’t really find it bad like everyone is describing it on here. However, it’s probably much different on take out rather than dining in. It is similar to the chain Genghis Grill. You get your bowl, create your meal using whatever raw veggies and meat you wish, choose a noodle/rice and then they stir fry it and bring it to you. They have a big variety of ingredients. The service was great. Vegetarian/Vegan friendly. It wasn’t very busy for a Friday night. The food was good too and cooked just right. The only con was the price. $ 10 is a little much in my opinion for what it is, but at least you can customize it your way. I wish they offered different size bowls. It is cheaper, though, if you go for lunch. In all, it’s a nice restaurant with plenty of options. I would reccommend dining in.

Went with friends and they got the bowls but I ordered off the menu. They brought mine out and the rice had a horrible flavor and taste. Told the waitress and she told someone who looked to be the owner. The owner came over and said it was fine but would I like 50% off. I said ok but I think it should have been free since I barely ate any. Waitress was kind of rude and acted like she hated her job. Been here many times and never had any problems. Don’t know if they changed management or what. Won’t ever go here again!

We ate here on 6÷14÷15, and it was so good it’s worth the drive to go back. I’m not a fan of Chinese-my husband burned me out on it after 25 years-so I usually shy away from anything resembling Chinese. One of the few places I loved was Bali-Hai in Raleigh – where we lived before moving to Texas. Anyway, Bali-Hai burned down over a year ago, and it’s been hard finding a good fix for Mongolian. Some buffets have a grill, but those usually limit your choices. This was a great find. It was Sunday, and we were the first customers. The service was prompt and friendly, and we took our little bowls to the bar to assemble our dishes. I liked the variety of veggies and meats. I got chicken and shrimp with mine – something Bali-Hai would charge extra for. I’m not familiar with their sauces, so I stuck with a little garlic and soy sauce. They have a nice list of suggestions on the wall, which would be helpful for those who don’t cook Asian. The cook clarified the difference between noodles for me, and I had Chinese noodles. Cooking took a bit of time, which I don’t mind at all. Raw ingredients take time to cook thoroughly, unless you’re using a microwave. It doesn’t matter what kind of restaurant it is; food takes time to cook! Sorry, but I saw one reviewer who was upset to wait 12 minutes. Even McDonald’s takes six minutes to deep fry chicken nuggets – get over it. The food was just awesome. I loved the tilted red serving bowls, and the flavor was exactly what I hoped for. I liked the modern décor, without any Chinese kitsch. The place was clean and quiet, but that could be because it was Sunday lunch. The only reason I’m not giving it five stars is the price. Ten dollars is a bit high for lunch.

Taste was bland and I got food poisoning from eating here. Threw it all up. Friendly people but when I ate here 3 weeks ago on a Monday evening, much heaving resulted. I remember the woman working there told me I shouldn’t have put the raw chicken on top of the vegetables I had chosen, but she said it would be okay. Well, it wasn’t okay. Since there was the danger, I should have been instructed to started the process over and with proper directions. Avoid.

The price is $ 9 for a build your own bowl, but you can basically put as much meat as you want(literally overfilling it is ok) If you are bulking I would go here and get the rice and make sure to get as much meat/mushrooms as possible.

Gobi is very hit or miss. I’ll manage to have consistently good experience for several months and then someone somewhere flips a switch and the next few visits bizarrely miss the mark. My last two(delivery) experiences were good. Prompt delivery and they actually took heed of the special instructions written in the notes of my online order. Food was hot and tasted pretty good. The meat is often overcooked and I feel like they retain way too much marinade/cooking sauce. Otherwise, portions are pretty big and usually decently constructed(i.e. a good ratio of vegetables, meat, and rice/noodles). Sometimes, though, I’ll get my food and it will be lukewarm. The kung pao chicken will make me think I ordered kung pao celery. The marinade/sauce is not flavorful and despite my efforts, I can’t make the 8oz of marinade remaining make the meal taste any better. I only have stuff delivered, though. I find the restaurant to be too dark and the waitstaff to be completely lacking in energy.

Tried this place because it is the only Asian around. Ordered something to go, no onions or peppers. After paying to much and waiting to long, was handed my bag. After leaving the restaurant, the stench of onions was so bad, I went back in to inspect. There were onions. The cashier looked, and and actually had the balls to tell me they were not onions. Asked for a refund, and was told no. After mulling it over for a while, I decided it wasn’t a good day to throw food at an elderly woman, so I just left. After losing my appetite for some reason, I just ended up giving the food to my neighbor, who later told me it wasn’t good(after I told her of my experience a few days later) Fast forward a week, my roommate convinced me to try Gobi again. By saying he would pay. I was very careful ordering my chicken fried rice, as the menu stated onions, peas, carrots, and egg. I verified twice that it would only have peas, carrots and egg. Another long wait, and then headed home(should have thought to check, but engrossed in conversation). Open the box to extra sprouts, peppers, water chestnuts, and no chicken. I think I will stick to the frozen stuff until I move to a delivery radius.

Aweful. Soup is salty. Meal is salty. Chicken is rare. The only thing they are free is salt. Never come back.

Not the same place as I had been to before the name change. I had been told the food was the same. We had our order delivered and the wait was about 50 min. I had broccoli beef and the veggies were mushy, the meat was way over cooked and tough. We also had chicken lo-mien which was fair but too salty. The hot and sour soup was just not good and they forgot to deliver one. To bad but the drive thru in town is hands down a better meal and the prices are better.

Went there for lunch. A few notes about why the low rating and why I won’t be returning 1) Service was very slow. From the time I handed my bowl of meat/veg/sauce to the cook, it took nearly 12 minutes to receive my cooked food. 12-minute ticket time might be acceptable for a full service restaurant, but Asian food is designed to be quick cook. I have tried other«mongolian grill» at other places and the same food choices come out in half the time. 2) Food safety. a) Food bar was in need of cleaning. b) Meats(including chicken, shrimp and fish) are out in the open and difficult to determine if the holding temps are correct or safe. c) Chicken looked real slimy, and that’s an indication that there is bacteria(Salmonella?) growth going on. 3) Something got me sick. Within 90 minutes of departing, I felt awful and my $ 10 lunch was ejected, and I felt bad enough that I needed to leave work and go home. Hopefully you read this and the other low reviews before making your choice to spend your money here. In my opinion, there are better choices for this style of cuisine. Thank you Gobi Mongolian Grill for a chance to drive the porcelain bus and the lost of income because I couldn’t remain at work.

This place is nasty. As soon as you walk in you just feel nasty. Staff is either WAY overworked or unhappy with horrible service. Took forever to get anything because you never see your waiter or waitress. Don’t expect refills unless your about to leave. Food took forever and the«food bar» area needs to be cleaned. I have given this place a chance nervous times and constantly disappointed when I walk in. The food is not bad, but not good enough for the horrible service and the lack of cleanliness. I just other restaurants in this chain are better and it’s just the Denton one… but who knows.

I Do Like The Food Here Don’t Get Me Wrong. But After Calling For Delivery And Being Put On Hold For 10Mins Then Being Transferred To The New Cashier Who Has No Idea What They Sell Or How Delivery Works Was Rude. Then After Getting My Order For A Meal For One Person The Total Came To $ 27?! After Fixing That Issue My Total Was $ 8. And Then Im Giving My Credit Card Information And She Tells Me After She Already Got My Information That My Order Needs To Be Over $ 15 Dollars? So Fine I Get Extra Egg Rolls. Then Once My Meal Arrives Its Not Hot And Was Really Watery? I’m Disappointed. I Like Going To Gobi, But Take-Out IS A NO!

I just ordered some dinner from here for delivery. The food got here 20 minutes before the expected arrival time! I was pretty happy about that. I ordered the chicken potstickers and crispy honey chicken with fried rice. The potstickers were good. They weren’t as crispy as I’d like, because they were closed up in the to-go container. The honey chicken was SWEET. There was literally syrup at the bottom of the container. I had to add salt to every bite to cut the reallyyyy sugary taste. Other than that, it was good. Big portions. The person who took my order and the delivery lady were both nice. I’d order from here again, but I’ll probably order something else.

After going to BD’s in Ohio I am usually put off by how other Mongolian grill’s work. Gobi is not one of them. The restaurant is set up well with a strait line from meats to veggies to sauces-I would prefer to have the spices wit the sauces but I am no restaurant engineer. Need less to say the options for starches surpassed my favorite and the lack of a wait will keep me going back. Great price and nice owner. On our first visit there was an obnoxious group of idiots who thought they could share bowls without paying, If I had to hear«I work at a restaurant» one more time I was going to tell her she was not going to be able to work again if she didn’t keep it down. the amusing part is we are transplants form New England and didn’t think the waitress would remember us after the fiasco of the guests next to us, but she did. Not only did she remember us be she remembered what we ordered to drink. Kudos Waitress lady.

You wouldn’t necessarily know it from the outside(pretty plain in a so-so shopping strip), but this place is pretty damn nice inside! They did some serious renovation after the last chinese buffet shut down. Fantastic and fresh food for a really reasonable price. For $ 6.99 at lunch, you can build your own bowl. They’ve got a large assortment of meat/proteins(beef, chicken, shrimp, fish, turkey, sausage, tofu, etc.), a seasonings bar, a veggie line with lots to choose from, and around 10 sauces you can mix and match. You then have 3 noodle options, fried rice, or steamed rice. Delish! The chef cooks it to perfection on a big mongolian grill and your waitress/waiter delivers it to the table. All meats and vegetables always look very fresh are are never discolored or wilted. They keep everything well stocked, too, so you have endless options. For just a buck or two more, you can do all you can eat… but I’m pretty much crawling out after just one bowl, so you’d have to have a SERIOUS appetite! I’ve never tried any of the other asian food they serve– too attracted to the big buffet of ingredients! The service is pretty basic– they greet you, get a drink order, deliver the food, and handle refills as necessary. Always been very courteous and attentive. I’d recommend something other then water… kind of tastes like dirt. The only warning I’d give is to allow enough time– if you’re close by, you can probably fit it into a lunch hour, but may run a few minutes over. Because they cook it on the spot all from raw it can get a little backed up and take a bit longer during rush times.
