Unless you are totally wasted or high, I can’t see how anyone could like this place. The food is terrible, the service is poor, the health issues are gross and everything comes from a can… don’t believe me? Find the restroom Also, waaaaaaaaaaay to expensive

This is our go-to restaurant when eating late. Unfortunately a lot of places in Denton close at 9 o’clock and with our busy schedules sometimes we’re just not able to make it anywhere before they close and we always end up coming here and are never disappointed

First visit here. As others have said, food is okay, but meets mid-level diner quality. Could be better though. I had the philly steak omelette and it was very bland. No seasoning on meat or the veg, and was more of an «egg burrito» than anything. Regular breakfasts looked good, but I would not be going for an omelette again. Pancakes were a good size/thickness and had a good chew. These I will have again. I went there at 1:00 on Saturday and found the place clean and 66% full. Unlike some of the other reviews, the service was good. I respect what the others have said, but it must be a quality of who is working(and if that’s the case, management needs to correct that). My server was prompt to my table with the menu and drink order, was very courteous, and even brought extra ice with my drink refill. Will I go back? Likely, as I want to try the burgers and the regular breakfast. Philly omelette, extra 3 pancakes, and ice tea($ 2!!) was $ 16-ish. Extra stars will be given as soon as the cook staff learns how to season and not send bland food.

went there on Father’s Day at noon. Was able to get a booth right away and the waitress came over to get our drink order immediately. We both ordered omelets — ham & cheese and the Greek. She took our order promptly, the food came out quickly and it was delicious. I would definitely go back — looking forward to trying other items on the menu.

FINALLY a great breakfast place in Denton, and on the square at that! Atmosphere is sort of unique to the location as it is in an old building at the NorthWest corner of the Denton square, but décor is uh… left to the imagination. Service is perfectly polite, but otherwise unintrusive. We’ve had the eggs, bacon, and sausage, which were all on-point. But the best menu item in my opinion is the Pastrami Cheeseburger. Holy lord, that’s good. The beef patty has plenty of flavor(unlike every other burger on the square), the cheese is melted over the pastrami, and the bun is sourdough bread which balances out the flavor perfectly. This one gets 5 stars from me! Happy to have a 24-hour option that isn’t Whataburger or McDonald’s.

My waitress was very rude. Anytime I asked her for something she gave me attitude then talked about me to the other servers. Not to mention she refused to run my food from the line. From one server to another… Do your job and stop complaining when someone asks you for an extra side of ketchup. Will not return.

Food is yummy here. I often go here for a quick meal. However, customer service is terrible. Waitresses don’t know how to deal with customers. You have to wait for a long time even if there’re not many people in that time. Friday morning, you order Steak with eggs or Philly Steak Sub, they come back and say«out of steak». Have no clue how they can run their business without this kind of service?

Waited 10 mins to get noticed, another 5 mins to have the table wiped and cleaned, then 5 more mins to order«water», another 10 mins to order food, then 5 mins to hear that«we’re out of steak«, since I ordered steak&egg. My friend ordered philly cheese sub but they didn’t tell him to order sth else, so we both supposed that there would be Philly cheese sub, only me need to order sth else. After letting me know, they left, no coming back to ask what I would order instead. My friend has to come to the cashier to let her know I would order philly cheese steak as well, then he came back and said«They are out of philly steak as well». SO – they did not let us know they were out of philly steak, did not even come back so that I could let them know what I would order. And now been waiting for 15 mins to get the food while watching people coming after us having their lunch already. Thanks a lot!

Who the hell uses beef bacon? Yes… beef. Yes, it tastes like bacon made from cow but doesnt taste like pork bacon. Its kinda like soggy, not tasty beef jerky. No its not tasty. Other than that… its just… meh.

Well first off this place does not offer any gluten free bread which is ridiculous. If you are going to have coneys, you should offer bread for different kinds of customers. There are a lot of gluten free people in Denton. So I brought in a sealed brand new loaf of gf bread, hoping I could try out a chili dog but the worker said they can’t touch outside food. I’m like you do not offer gf bread, so I brought some and its sealed in the package… and you won’t touch it? Seems like a customer just can’t win at this place. I’ve requested them to offer gluten free bread for many months ago and they still don’t offer it.

The food here is nothing home to write about. It’s not horrible either. It’s just okay. The service is what it is depending on who you get. What makes this place attractive is the face that it is open 24 hours and isn’t an Ihop or Whataburger. Unfortunately I couldn’t get on their wifi, but you’re able to catch the city of Denton’s wifi there.

I tried this place out, based on my friend wanting to come here. I really didn’t do any research beforehand and I was a little worried when I heard it was a diner. what that usually means is you will receive huge, flavorless portions of food. Surprisingly, that wasn’t the case. They have a modest range of food, from breakfast staples, burgers, hot dogs, and gyros. I decided if its a diner, I should have their breakfast items. I ended up having the Dix Special with a half order of pancakes. The first thing that stood out was the bacon. They use only BEEF bacon and it was such a treat to have! It was like thinly shaved brisket! They give you three big pieces and the flavor was wonderful. A word of caution on the texture. The bacon wasn’t crispy, so if you want it that way, make sure you stress this. The eggs were standard, but solid. The hash browns were more like huge, chunky flakes of fried potato. They were OK, but Im use to my hash browns being crispy. The pancakes were basic pancakes, except I love the fact that they make them thin. They dont have this doughy consistency that pancakes can have if the batter is too thick. Most of the flavor came from the butter they add on top, but the texture is what really sold me. The toast actually had a good texture, but its just regular old toast. This place has been criticized for their lack of prompt service. I havent experienced it yet, but then again, its a diner on the square. The place probably gets crowded late nights and during weekend brunch. If you plan on coming here starving, perhaps pack a small snack? Overall, this place wins me on the fact that it wasn’t mediocre. it wasnt amazing or worth going out of my way, but considering the other option for late night chain breakfast places(Dennys, IHOP, AwfulHouse), I’ll choose here. And the prices were wonderful. I got alot of food for under 10 dollars.

The Denton square is almost always a fun place. Lots of good places to eat, pubs, coffee places with neither«Star» nor«Bucks» in the title. It’s the variety that makes it stand out. This Wednesday evening, we decided to give DIx’s a try. It’s a small all-night diner with pretty standard offerings that are done pretty darn well. Breakfast foods, burgers, sandwiches, and the like. My lady fair ordered some breakfast selections and I, as always, tried their burger. They are made to order with a good number of choices to get it the way you like it. I got a Bacon Cheeseburger with Spicy Mustard and tomatoes and pickles. Their burgers are served on a sourdough bun and you can even choose the cheese. I ordered mine with American but noticed that they also offered Provolone. Wish I’d seen it before I placed my order, but that just gives me something to look forward to if we try these folks again. I also ordered a plate of Chili Cheese Fries. Honestly, I was worried about getting them. Usually diner chili isn’t all that great. Luckily, this place has pretty good chili and I really enjoyed them. Probably my favorite part of the meal and a nice surprise. I’m not going to lie and say they were the best burger I’d ever had. They were good. Service was good, food was good, place was charming but not much by way of décor to speak of. A couple of televisions played some sporting event if you’re into that sort of thing(which I am not). This is a good place to go and with so few places open all night anymore, I bet they’ll do gangbusters with the bar crowd who want to grab a bite after a night of drinking so they can sober up a bit. Worth a look, but don’t expect the best meal you’ve ever had. The four star score is probably a bit generous, but a three star would feel a bit low for the amount of food and overall pretty decent quality. Plus the cook has blue hair which is kinda awesome! Cheers!

I am giving this restaurant a three-star. And has many pluses and minuses. On the upside, it is 24 hours, very reasonably priced, and very fresh. On the downside, the service is slow, even though they always have plenty of people on staff, and the hotdogs don’t taste any different than a hotdog he would buy at the store. I imagine after a night of boozing, this would be a great place to come and get your drunk eating on… Now I have only been here one time, and I would be very interested in trying some of the other food… But I had to give it a three star because the service was mediocre and the food wasn’t outstanding but it was good.

We checked this place out last Friday. Not terribly disappointed but not at all impressed. Menus look like photocopied and laminated versions of something more homey, but brecciated they’re just black and white they look kinda cheap. No kids menu to color on, but there is a kids section on the big main menu. Prices are decent, considering the portion sizes. The quality is not great, but it’s diner food, it’s the same quality as waffle House. Main issue is the service. I got completely ignored after my drink order and we had to flag down a different waiter to make our order. He was very attentive though, so after that snafu everything went well.

Pros: –It’s open 24 hrs –breakfast served all day –reasonably priced –good location on the square –my food was pretty tasty and the two other people I ate with enjoyed theirs as well Con: –the service was reallllly slow. Like way slow. Granted I went at 1:45am on a Sat night so the bar crowd had already started coming in but still. The waitress was really nice and apologetic, seemed over-worked. We didn’t complain, with the whole staff being new it’s understandable.
