Food: 6⁄10 Service: 8⁄10 Value: 6⁄10 Ambience: 7⁄10 This place is a hit or miss. The spicy bbq sauce never disappoint for sure. I have yet to find a better bbq sauce, and I’ve been eating bbq for almost 20 years now. I brought my relative here because they’ve never had Texas bbq before and was craving it while they were on the plane. To an untrained southern bbq goers like them, this place was a heaven sent(they were staving out of their mind though). It was mediocre overall for me. The spicy bbq sauce was the only redeeming point as always. Anyways, it’s an average bbq joint with great(spicy) sauce, in my humble opinion. Cheers.

My first time and it was meh. Tonight, my college friends wanted me to try this place with them, so I got some pulled pork fritos and it was fine. The free ice cream was good, too. BUT, what really made my experience sort of sour was the lady who rung me up. I personally asked her about 15% off deal college students get, and she went to go ask and her manager said«yes.» As I was pulling out my college ID, she had already rung me up. I was like ??? She said«oh sorry maybe next time» with no remorse at all. Uhh, what? Even my friends were questioning why she’d do that to me, so after my sorta agitated look, she gave the rest of my girls the discounted price. But, whatever. Dickey’s is overall not bad for so-so bbq.

We used dickies for a company party. They did such a great job and they got the food to us faster than we expected. And the food was excellent. Their service was excellent. I would highly recommend them for catering. You will not be disappointed.

We generally love Dickey’s, however I am very disappointed in this particular location. We ordered a Family Pack last night for dinner thinking 2 lbs of meat would suffice, I was wrong. I spent $ 50 on what looked like a half pound of chopped brisket and half pound of sliced brisket with 3 sides and rolls. The potato salad was very creamy and just didn’t taste right, we ended up throwing it away. We will not be returning to this location.

I’m not sure what’s going on with the Dickey’s chains in N. Texas. All of the sandwiches which are billed as a BIGBBQ Sandwich have been made into Mini Sized sandwiches. The killer is that the price is not mini but seems to be more expensive. Extremely disappointed. I pulled the pulled pork sandwich out of the bag and it was wrapped. I thought it was a biscuit that went with my husband’s meat plate. That’s how small it was. Low and behold it was my $ 6.00 sandwich. Though the pulled pork was good the pricing needs to be adjusted accordingly. If you are going to shrink the portion size, shrink the price. The staff has always been courteous in all of my experiences. I just don’t know if i will go back unless they lower the prices of the sandwiches to match the size. There are too many other options in Denton that are also very good with BBQ w/fair prices to portion sizes.

This particular Dickies is Horrible! If u want dried, tough, cold, bbq meat and sides by all means have at it. I’m a Dickies fan too. I live right down the street from this dickies. I’ve been there 2 times and both times I’ve regret it. I feel like this dickies does not care at all about there product. If I order sliced beef an I get 2 small dinky pieces of meat and one slice of fat you don’t care about your product or customer. The sides I got were the mashed potatoes. They were dry and tasted like day before potatoes. I couldn’t eat them. Wouldn’t recommend this dickies.

This place is delicious. It’s clean, the employees are friendly, the food is decently priced. They have more selections side & dessert-wise compared to Rudy’s. I ordered a pulled pork/sausage plate with Mac and cheese and onion straws. The pulled pork could have used more flavor but everything else was on point. I’ll be coming back!

One of the better Dickies ! Nice pulled pork with some bark. Brisket was moist and had smoke flavor. Who don ‘t like the Big Yellow cups? Waffle Fry’s were over seasoned but fresh. Staff was courteous. Just a little high for regular BBQ.

We were at an event catered by Dickey’s and we weren’t terribly impressed. To be fair, the food had to be taken from from point A to point B, and wait 20 minutes, so perhaps this made the meats tough and a bit dry. But if you’re in catering, I would think you’d compensate for that… somehow.

This is the worst BBQ I’ve ever had, and it was not just one time. I’ve tried this place 3 times over a couple of years. The meat is dry, and the sauce is average at best. A chopped beef sandwich should melt in your mouth, not suck the moisture out of it. I really miss Coulter’s that used to be where El Fenix is now. In Dallas I eat at Big Al’s and Anderson, and they are both excellent. I like to give places another chance, but 3 times is enough. Dickey’s is not a place I want to go back to ever again.

Very disappointed in this place. I found out later that the Restaurant is actually part of a Chain. Cooking meat in an oven does not make it bbq, NO more than baking wings and dousing them with hot sauce makes them Buffalo wings. Texas to me is the Mecca of great bbq. Dickeys is a slap in the face of those in Texas who have worked for years and are deserving of a great reputation. No smoke, no seasoning no good. I know that it’s fast food, but honestly I would have been happier with a McRib sandwich from Micky D’s. And I’ve never had the Mc Rib sandwich for obvious reasons. Save your money.

In Kansas City, there’s a not-to-be-named chain of BBQ restaurants, that seems to be the«go-to place» for visitors… but when you get down to it… the BBQ really isn’t that good. It’s kinda overrated, the atmosphere is OK, and ultimately, you could do better. Apparently, KC isn’t the only city with a place like that. Dickey’s is a chain, although I didn’t realize it when I was there. Started in Dallas, boomed across the country, apparently. Went to this location on the way out of town on a road trip; I went with it because it was next to the QuikTrip where I’d gotten gas, and I’d seen some folks eating it the day before. The service was decent, the workers were friendly, the atmosphere was good, and free ice cream afterwards? Is a total winner. But… the BBQ was pretty blah. The sides I had(Mac & Cheese and fries) were blah. The bill was a little more than what I would have expected for what I got. Do I regret it? No, of course not — but — it didn’t make me want to seek the place out again.

A place has to be pretty bad for me to get to a one or two star rating. I went in here this afternoon, only 3 other customers there. NOT good. Meat was ok at best. Rolls were old and hard. I love macaroni and cheese, and usually a Dickie’s is pretty good, but not theirs. The Dickie’s in Frisco, Tx. is good. I have been there 4 – 5 times and it’s always good. This is the first time I’d been here. Won’t be back.

:-) I LOVEDICK!(err I mean) I LOVEDICKEY’S! And I thought all BBQ places were the same down here in Texas… Yes, I know this is a chain, I’ve seen them around, flaunting their meat… They’ve had a passion for BBQ since 1941! I’ve been to the competitors, and though they all have pretty much the same kind of décor… they DO vary in flavor… And MELIKEYDICKEY’s flavor! ;-p I didn’t stay for the meal, though had I stayed I would have had all the amenities available to me… unlimited soda fountain, ice teas, free soft serve ice cream etc… But I wasn’t interested in the ambiance. I wanted to have Dicks meat… I mean DICKEY’S BBQ. I took my time looking at all the items on their menu board and had a peak at the sides… I want pork. yeah. all PORK. so I ordered the 2 meat plate. (I can handle alot of meat.) But even this was too much for me! Wow. its no wonder they grow em BIG in texas… My order? Pulled Pork, and St. Louis Baby Back Ribs… with a side of fried okra, and fried string onions, and bread roll… Though my container held two spots for the side dish, Dickeys’ filled em both wtih fried okra and gave me a separate bag for my fried onion strings and my bread… (YIKES. thats alot of food for the gastronomical orgy that’s about to happen in my hotel room.) When I got back to my accomodations, i stripped down to something more comfortable… and had me some TEXASMEAT! YEEHA! Wow. I was pleasantly surprised!!! I was expecting the typical, but got something better! The pulled pork was TASTY, TENDER, and SWEET and I loved the tang of the BBQ sauce… I found it pleasantly sweet, not burnt or over done, or over powering… After pulling much of that pork and putting it into my bread roll for a small pulled pork slider, I dug into the ribs… Sweet. tender, tasty meat… with a juicy fall off the bone texture– just like I like my meat. I can’t image how tasty the other MEATs were at Dicks… I’ll just have to come back and have them all! GOODPORTIONS. GREATTASTYMEATS. SWEETTANGYBBQ. ANDFRIENDLYSERVICEROUNDOUTTHEEXPERIENCE I HADATDICKEYS! (ask them about the membership to the big yellow cup club) I LOVEDICK!(I mean Dickey’s!) 4 Woofs. I’ll be back for sure. Lucky for me I’m not from around these parts, or I’d get as big as house! Friend them on Facebook, or follow them on Twitter…

I am a fan of Dickey’s for sure! When you are looking for a good fast barbecue this is the place to go. The brisket is tender but what really makes it flavorful is the sauce! I am grateful for the small bowls to serve yourself a ladle of warm barbecue sauce to enjoy with your meal. The sides selection is large but if it’s a day when i feel like sides I usually go for the potatoes or waffle fries. And who can fault a place that has a free soft serve machine with cones for your pleasure after your meal!!! Needless to say I have been here often and wish that their was one near me in CA.
