Having lived in Denton and having gone to school there… there is always something about it that is so warm and inviting yet very chilled and laid back. Cultivar coffee happens to completely embrace this culture and came up with this über-​cool-​hippie-​style coffee place and guess what? They actually serve great coffee!
They have lots of space inside and out, they have free wifi, lots of parking, friendly baristas and did I mention? Great Coffee!

I’m a huge fan of chai lattes and try then everywhere I go. For me this almost had too much spice to it, but the flavors were there. I can say it was definitely not bland. Love the location and the vibe of the place as it is shared with hypnotic donuts. If I’m ever in Denton again I would definitely stop by.

Lattes are always perfect, although many time they don’t have the milk I want with it. The iced coffee is delicious and goes great with donuts.
Though, every time I order coffee it always tastes different. And this last time I had their coffee it tasted REALLY watered down. For $ 4 a cup that was so disappointing :’(

Went there for the first time the other day and had the «Canadian healthcare» and «Homer» donut and a vanilla latte. They were delicious, the Canadian healthcare was my favorite one, maple sugar frosting, bacon, and a maple syrup drizzle. Delicious. The coffee was excellent as well.

Been here a few times since this place opened. Staff is quirky & friendly. Coffee is probably the best I’ve had on the square in recent years. Vanilla latte is creamy and has amazing flavor. Space is pretty bare bones but not a bad option. Like their outdoor tables.

Great first impression! Was greeted by very nice employees. Got the regular drip coffee and it is very good! Strong, bold taste. Very nice layout of coffee stations and items being sold. Will most definitely come back and maybe try a latte or anlther coffee drink.

My goto coffee. Granted i live just down the street… Its a pretty minimalistic place, although not barren. I havent had anything i disliked and the staff is, for the most part, knowledgable and friendly. Their coffee is distinct because it is fairly bitter, but in a cappucino or latte, the espresso is quite pleasant.

I’ve only been here because you can’t go to Hypnotic donuts without going here at the same time.
I’ve had only two coffees from here but i absolutely hated both of them.
its very likely a matter of taste, but what i tasted was incredible bitterness.
adding sugar and creamer can make things better, but i prefer my coffee to taste good before the additions as well as after.

Great new place for coffee here in Denton! If you are there at any time you’ll most likely meet Brea, who is one of my favorite baristas, EVER. She’s sooo friendly and knows her stuff to no end when it comes to coffee. She taught me so much when we used to work together.
Overall I like that Cultivar is a very minimalistic coffee shop, sticking to what’s really good and doing away with the rest. Try a cappuccino if you’re going for the first time or the iced vanilla latte if you like iced coffee. Their straight iced coffee has a really great flavor too if you don’t like sweet drinks. If you’re more into brewed black coffee they have a ton of options for that too. Glad we have another great place to include in this huge year for Denton coffeeshops!
