I recently went on vacation to Dennis, and stumbled upon this art studio online while looking for something fun to do with my mom and my sister while we were in town. I emailed Cynthia, and she quickly got back to me and accommodated us as for a small-group painting session on a Monday morning. We arrived, and immediately loved the studio and personalities of this lovely duo — Cynthia and her boyfriend. She walked us through designing some signs, and gave helpful tips while we chatted and painted away. It was an absolute blast, and I would recommend the studio and/or painting sessions at Sodium. It definitely made our family trip to the Cape even more special. Thank you!

This store is just what Cape Cod needs, an artsy, hip, creative store that isn’t making you cringe when you see the prices. All of the artwork is homemade, made in the back of the store in her workshop. The store specializes in wood artwork, cut into numerous shapes, like fish, banners, Christmas ornaments, etc. The store is bright and colorful. We bought a lovely squid art piece, which was painted really nicely. We also bought a colorful fish that we were going to hang up. This store is the epitome of effort. A smaller piece, for example the squid that was about a foot long, was about $ 40, which is pretty inexpensive. They do online orders as well that could be shipped to home.

We love this store! Funky and fun — all with reclaimed wood and other material. We wanted something unique and original — not looking like we came out of pottery barn. There is plenty of parking available between the street and the city parking lot. Cynthia also does commissioned pieces and we had her do a school of her awesome fish. She was great to work with and the price was very reasonable. If you’ve been before, go again. There is always something new when we go and even our tween boys are pitching for their own pieces.

This is such a fantastic store that repurposes old wood into cool and unique items! I collect Christmas ornaments and I’m always looking for original ones to add to our tree. Cynthia had quite a few of them and they were all beautiful! There are also funky signs with various phrases on them, wonky whales(fun designed wood pieces shaped like whales), and some really amazing painted wine or towel holders! If you don’t see something you want, have no fear, Cynthia can design something for you! I really can’t rave about this store enough. Head in and see Cynthia if you are in the area, and tell her Chrissy says hello!
