Everything was perfect… food and quanity was superb… and very fairly priced. The waitress did a great job. It is now at the top of our list along with «Hucks» for the Sherman — Denison area…

My boyfriend wanted to come here because he read somewhere that it was one of the top 5 restaurants Ummmmmmmm I don’t think so. Souther food? Not even close if you’re broke and want a lot of low quality food then this is a jackpot I ordered the Chicken fried Chicken with Collar Greens and Mashed potatoes and gravy. lets start with the collar greens I’m from Georgia and I’ve never tasted greens as bitter as these were and the chicken fried chicken the first bite I thought I was chewing on a rubber band I spit it out and tried another bite only to find the same thing Awful who ever rated this place as one of the top 5 should give me my money back!

Lots of food. Rest of the table enjoyed theirs, but my burger was too well-​done & dried & black. This location STILL has the darkest parking lot in town. Would not feel safe going to the car if alone. Would not feel safe leaving a stereo unattended in a locked car out there.

Good food, portions are huge but everything’s bigger in Texas. Right? They have southern food with an extensive dessert list. Beers are mostly macros.

I’m giving this only 4 because I went with my mother in law and her pork chop was seriously overcooked. The manager made it right and took it off. But because of this, she doesn’t want to go back. Sad face :(
I, however, had a great meal. I had the poblano soup and it was SOO good. I also had the chicken carbonara and squash casserole and grilled mushroom and onions. Wooo. Good stuff! I can’t wait to go back. By myself haha

Sorry for the incorrect review. According to friends that live in Denison, Sherman and Whitesboro, Texas this place is terrific. I missed it when I was there so it’s a must on my next trip.

I am responding to the person that made the gun control comment. The concealed handgun rule is a policy that we must follow due to TABC regulations.

Found this gem through Unilocal on Pie day and have loved it since. First of all, the environment is so relaxing, especially if you sit by the windows. The servers are friendly — sometimes they lag but it’s worth the wait. They have great specials and large portions, so you feel well-​fed even if you’re on a budget, and it’s GOOD food, too. I’m picky about seasoning, and I think their meat is really nicely done — Especially when grilled. Lastly, the desserts — I want to go back until I’ve tried every single cake and pie in their display because they all look amazing.

We were going to try southern grill until I saw the comments about guns. I understand we all have different opinions but if anyone can post a gun crime that has been committed by a chl holder I would love to see it. Hopefully denisons finest do not frequent such a liberal place. My family, my guns, my opinions, and I will give our hard earned money to a business that shares our beliefs. If you want a great chicken fried steak go to city limits in Sherman.

28 of us Sherman High ’68 alumni gathered for lunch on a Saturday in one of their banquet rooms.
The friendly waiter/​waitresses did an excellent job in getting everyone’s order correct.
The kitchen did an excellent job of getting the food to each one of us surprisingly quick.
Everyone enjoyed their generous and tasty order.
The desserts are scary good!
By the way, the chicken fried steak is the largest I’ve ever seen and among the best, too!
The atmosphere is excellent!

Just moved to Denison and this is my new favorite place! Very accommodating! Great food, can’t wait to try more things on the menu! Make sure to grab a sugar cookie on the way out, made from scratch and so delicious!

Only went in here once food was decent you can tell the chicken fry was pre breaded for a quick meal. It wasn’t frozen but you could definitely tell it was preped in the morning and sat all day. Deserts are good made fresh carrot cakes good. Main reason I will not be back is because they do not allow Conceal Carry inside. Sorry but I’ll take my business some where else that supports my rights.

Food was good, service fast and friendly. We had cheese burger, chicken quesadilla, chicken fried chicken, chicken fried steak, shrimp and nachos. We also got a dozen cookies to take home. The portions were very large and everything was hot and correct as we had special ordered certain dishes. We will be back again. The cookies were really big but kind of hard. We also got coconut cream pie and it was good. We will be back to try out more meals and their buffet.

We are so pleased to see a new restaurant take over this location and actually do well. After seeing a packed parking lot for some time, we decided to give it a try. We have been three times now and have been more than pleased each time. The prices are very reasonable. My husband and I each had an entrée, iced tea and dessert for just under $ 30. Most of the entrees include soup or salad and two sides. The portions are very large and we have never been able to finish our meal. There is plenty for leftovers to take home. The dessert menu is the largest I’ve seen, especially in this area. Each of the desserts we have tried have all been excellent. We were told that a «dessert lady» comes in every day and makes all desserts from scratch. It tastes like it! My only negatives, the service can be slow. Each time, we dined on a weekend. This restaurant would deserve a five star rating, from me, if they could just improve their dinner salads. I’m a huge fan of the dinner salad and theirs is definitely lacking. 1) The salad is out of a bag. I can always taste the preservatives. 2) Each time (3) my salad has been room temperature. 3) The last time my salad greens were mostly brown around ALL the edges and the onion was completely dried out. 4) It tastes and appears like the salads are poured out of a bag and prepared well in advance for the sake of efficiency. That is alright if you are just interested in the salad as a table garnish.

I did not realize that on Sunday it is a brunch buffet only, but I was not disappointed! There were plenty of varieties of breakfast and lunch items. I had the chicken fried steak, pinto beans and mac & cheese. All of them were amazing! One of the very best in the Sherman/​Denison area! My waitress was very friendly and attentive. I WILL be back.

The absolute worst place I have eaten at in Denison. The chicken fry was over half breading, the pinto beans had black eyed peas and cilantro in them. I could go on but it isn’t worth me wasting any more of my time on this place.

Food was very good, service was good and price was good. Hope they keep up the quality and maintain a good price for a long time to come. This is probably my favorite place to eat in the Denison area for sure.

Outstanding food! However, I made the mistake of going out to eat on Friday night. The initial wait was lengthy and the wait for our food was a little slower than expected. The waitstaff was courteous but were too busy to tend to our needs properly. I’ll center back again but probably not on a Friday night.

Went back today to try out the Sunday brunch buffet. The food was hot, delicious, and much to choose from. Three different kinds of scrambled eggs, to ribs, and chicken fried steak. Only minor gripe is the buffet could have a better layout. Its kind of confusing where the line ends and where it starts. People kept getting trapped in the corner.

New place… just opened recently. Got an order to go burger was huge. It was supposed to be medium but was well done but not dried out. Fries were homemade. Only complaint is the burgers bottom bun was soaked in juices but didn’t really matter because you can’t just pick the burger up. Had lots left over. the classic burger and fries could feed two real hungry people or three looking for a snack.
