Oasis Delray Beach Apartments

Noise here is awful! I’ve lived in many apartments before Oasis and never any where else had I had to make complaints about the noise. I can hear my neighbor’s sliding glass door opening and closing all day and night, it’s very annoying! And since they put in tile floors (genius idea for apartment-​living!), I can EVERYTHING that my upstairs neighbor does! I haven’t slept in months. Do not move here unless noise and overpriced rent don’t bother you!

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Just went there to look at a new apartment. Had an appointment at 12. Was greeted by Suzanne. I was to see the 3 bedroom and 2 bedroom. Was told the 3 bedroom was sold right before I got there and that there were no 2 bedrooms available. So why was I made an appointment? I was shown a floor map of what it would look like in case it would be available and shown pictures of someone’s house that I needed a magnifying glass to see the pics. The meeting lasted 5 minutes. So glad I got dressed up for this. Horrible. Don’t rent there

I have always had a great renting history. My roommate and I (no pets) have had more financial issues with this complex than any other either of us have lived in. I transferred to an Equity Property in CA and decided to pay the rest of my rent back home so my roommate didn’t get screwed. They said I could not pay out my lease up front and had to somehow continue to pay them monthly. They said it would be easy because I could use the portal online.
1^st issue — it took 2 months (after I left) for them to add me to both portals (old and new apartments). I could only pay on the new portal for a long time and had to have friends deliver money orders to Oasis.
2^nd issue — We had no pets and the carpet was new when we moved in. They charged us to clean and put new carpet in the apartment after we left. They took our deposit and charged us above it. I, of course, paid half and my roommate paid half.
3^rd issue — I have never received any email or post mail of my ending costs and they have a debt collector call me today and ask for the 2^nd half of the closing rent. My roommate has receipts of the money orders she gave to them for the ending costs and I have proof I paid on the portal. Sounds to me like they are digging for money.
4^th issue — they NEVER answer the phone. If lines of communication were open, I probably would not be as pissed and we could figure this all out. I call, leave messages 2 or 3 times and never receive a call back.
Sad thing is, while I lived there, it was great. My new apartment is great too. I love the Equity security and the helpfulness of the staff here in CA. I would never blame them for the issues I have had at Oasis.
I’d like to know why I was called (and paid) a debt collector when they received all the money they asked for — even though I feel we should not have had to pay for their cleaning and new carpet.
Sadly, I feel Oasis/​Equity owes me something for the crap I’ve gone through the last 5 months. Good luck getting out of the Unilocal rut. Doesn’t look good on you.

Oasis Delray Beach, formerly known as Archstone Apartments, has an unprofessional management staff. The company never addressed noise complaint issues from our neighboring apartments barking dogs («they always said just call the sheriffs, we can’t do anything about it»). Now after moving out, the company has tried to charge us for new carpet and an early termination fee, even though our carpet was in good shape and we paid through the end of our contract.
While we were trying to solve the bill issues, we had been talking to the office staff multiple times on the and had requested proof of these charges, they sent us to a debt collector (pretty sure it is illegal to send someone to a debt collector while they are waiting for proof of charges otherwise I’d people would make up fake debts all the time). Our lease ended July 2013 and it is now January 2014 and they still have failed to provide the debt collector and us PROOF of the damages and charges. Yet I still have to deal with getting harassed by a debt collector…
You tell me if this is a company you would want to deal with?
