I bought a groupon deal for 3 acupuncture sessions, 3 cupping massages, and 3 infrared detoxes for $ 99– that should have been my first clue. I realized the coupon had a week so prior to expiring, so I scheduled an appointment. They had Christmas Eve at 3 available, which I guess was convenient. The doctor showed up late and didn’t realize she had new patients(me). She looked like she was gardening or something. Not professional at all and I couldn’t stop staring at her hands– they were filthy looking. She was very loud and wouldn’t stop talking, not conducive for what is supposed to be a relaxing atmosphere. I could hear her conversations in the other rooms. She was very kind, but wanted to talk more than treat me. I went through with the procedure and after 40-ish minutes, the soothing music and lights turned off and I sat in a dark room with needles all over me for about 5 minutes until she came in. It was time for the cupping. I have had this done many times and was expecting a massage done with glass bulbs that suction because of a lit match or something to that effect. Nope, She stuck the bulbs on me and left them on me. No massage, just bulbs stuck to my back while she again left the room. I was rather annoyed because not only was it not relaxing, it took 2 hours! I decided I was going to eat the cost of the other two sessions and warn all others against this«doctor»!!

I have used Dr. Maher for several occasions to help me alleviate pain. She used a combination of acupuncture and massage to fix my shoulder(which my orthopedic surgeon wanted to operate on). I had an excellent experience, the followup exercises really helped and they fixed something I was expecting to need surgery for.

I purchased a groupon ages ago when I lived in Fort Lauderdale and this was still a bit of a drive from my home. Now I live in Brickell, so to get to this place it would take me over an hour. I contacted groupon to have them refund this for me and they had some new policy that they were unable to do that. So I called this office and scheduled an appointment for my fiancé and I to redeem the groupons. When we made the appointment, she just set it up and it was all ready to go with just our names and DOB. She scheduled this appointment on a Thursday. I called days later to reschedule and they did not answer. They have the craziest hours and good luck getting someone to answer. I called them the day of the appointment as well to try and get ahold of them and it said on their answering service that they were not even open on Thursday’s. I figured they made a mistake or something so I called back and they told me that they would schedule me and they needed my credit card number to hold the appointment. When I gave them my credit card number, they said ohhh we already have you in the system and you missed your appointment so i t will be a $ 40 fee. I said to them are you crazy? You never told me this when I scheduled it!!! You can’t say it after the fact. That’s like a scam. They literally scammed me into giving them my credit card number and then charged me $ 40 and never TOLDME they were going to do this! I am now disputing it with Bank of America. It’s not about the $ 40 it’s about the principle. I would NOT recommend using them. They don’t schedule things unless it’s weeks in advance and if you want to reschedule, just forget about it.
