Ok, the first thing is the customer service was great, but dang they nickel and dime you for everything. Refills of soda they charge, don’t take credit cards(prolly so they don’t have to pay credit card fees), and hot dogs are from 7 – 15 bucks for just for the hot dog. Nice décor, but won’t be back for lunch. A lot of other places in are a offer better lunch specials. Bun was stale as well. Needs to adjust their prices and food quality in order to survive. Customer service was great and the people were friendly so deserves 3 stars.

I love this place! Was down visiting and when I walked in for the first time, the owner said they were the best hot dogs in all of Florida. He was wrong… it was the best hot dog I’ve ever had! Can’t wait to go back!

WTF? A restaurant that doesn’t take credit/debit cards. Me and another guy didn’t eat here because of that. I did look at the menu. It looks expensive for a hot dog place.

The cowboy dog was awesome! The fries were okay-I am partial to a thinner fry and they were not salted at all. The lobster roll was pretty good. The Italian ice(coconut and pineapple mixed) was awesome also!

The first few times I drove by this place and saw the sign, I didn’t know what it was. The sign had a picture of a spiked collar bulled dog with very small unreadable writing that said«gourmet». So all you can see is Killer Dogs. My first thought is this is where I come if I want to buy a tough dog like a Bulldog or Pitbull. It was later that I saw this come up on Unilocal and realized it is a restaurant and not a pet shop. LOL. With all of the burger places and gastropubs that server burgers, it is cool that there are a few places around that specialize in the good old American hot dog. My first visit here is incredibly ironic though. I come here to eat a hot dog and end up getting a BLT Avocado. This is bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado toppings on a chicken sausage. A very large serving size that will fill you up. The bacon was a beautifully crispy cooked thick cut bacon, which was a perfect marriage with the creamy avocado. All of this pairs very nicely with the chicken sausage, which itself was seasoned to have a rich flavor. Fantastic combo of flavors. I also got an order of fries as a side. These were fine, but a little too soggy for my tastes. I feel like the fryer temperature was maybe a little too low. Much to my surprise they have two local beers on tap. They were both from Saltwater Brewery. I don’t know if they always have Saltwater, or if they rotate though different ones. Guess the only way to find out is to come back. I need to get back here anyway, because I still need to try an actual hot dog. There menu is pretty extensive, so I probably need 2 more trips to get a good feel for their food. But from first trip it was a home run.

I went and tried sausage and peppers at owners suggestion. It was ok. The sauce was the best thing there and the reason for 2 stars. But what really turned me off was the owner asking too many personal questions. When I told him I was recently married, he said«good luck with that. It never works… You know anybody else still happily married?» I responded with, «yes, my parents». He was out of line and not worth going back when I felt so unbelievably uncomfortable and disrespected. Never again. Sad some people start businesses and don’t know about how to be appropriate and deal with a variety of people. Even those who are happily married…

Ok, I was in the mood for a dog so I ventured in. I walk in and looked at the menu on the wall, I ordered a Chicago dog, the guy behind the counter asked if I wanted fries, since the price was around $ 8 I thought it was included/combo…wrong,. I also ordered a beer, lunch tab was $ 17+, ok maybe it will be the best dog ever. Not even close, roll was stale, hot dog was cold, no onions and the used diced tomatoes, it sucked. Fries were excellent and a cold beer is always good. Prices and hot dog quality doesn’t warrant a repeat visit. They will be done by September.

I went again and tried the lobster roll with jalapeño. It was pretty good. One negative thing about this place is that they don’t take credit cards. That is kind of archaic.

Anybody that has anything to say about this restaurant other than it’s incredible has either not been in the restaurant or doesn’t know what amazing is! It couldn’t of been a better experience between the food the atmosphere and the service. I could literally go there every day and be in heaven. Between the lobster roll, the fries, and the vegetarian hotdog which is not only incredible but truly vegetarian unlike other restaurants that say they are — I am delighted and devoted to my new favorite restaurant. Every person I bring there talks about their hotdogs for days — there first bite is always accompanied by «this is the best hot dog I’ve ever had .» This is the best of the best, and their latest addition. nachos which I couldn’t help but indulge are fantastic don’t miss out of this incredible place! You are in for a truly perfect experience.

This is a great addition to the area. I love everything about it. The owner, Glenn is a great guy and mans the counter… you can tell he’s proud of what he’s doing, and he should be. The dogs are made for them to their specs and they are perfect. Great texture, taste and perfectly cooked. We tried a few combinations and loved them. Also, love the fries… both the regular and the sweet potato. Fresh cut, perfectly cooked. Also, love the special sauce they have in bottles on the table. Yes, it’s a little pricey, but worth the extra expense for the incredibly excellent quality and certainly delivers on taste. I wish every place delivered on excellence as much as this place does. I wish them great success… should be a big hit if the word gets out as to what’s going on here.

These dogs are not a ‘special blend’(ask him to prove it). They don’t use the right ingredients for a real Chicago(where’s the poppy seed bun and real vienna, for example?). And his dog menu runs from ~$ 7.50 to 13.00. That’s outrageous for a hot dog… unless you’re at the ballpark and REALLY want a hot dog :) I’m all for a fair shake but the pricing is borderline offensive given the other options around here. You’re MUCH better off doing a little digging and you’ll find alternatives which are not only cheaper, but better. P. S. Did that digging: try Hot Dog Opolis instead. 30%+ cheaper, real viennas, poppy seed buns, and no pretentiousness(special blend dogs, lololol).

Food was OK at best, the staff was very nice maybe even a little intrusive but my main issues with the place are 1. WAY, WAY, overpriced for what you get $ 30 for 2 hot dogs(insane), 2. They don’t accept credit cards(and are even rude about it like I’m an ass for wanting to use the most popular form of payment in America) there is nothing worse than being told to run to an ATM to withdraw cash so you can run back and pay for a sub-par, overpriced hot dog. BUT to be fair it gets 2 stars for cleanliness, this place is clean.(which I can only assume it the byproduct of not having many customers)

Hidden Jem! My family and I loved everything! The hot dogs were super tasty and the chili cheese fries were out of this world! They even have this amazing sauce that they home make and sell. The owners were super friendly and took time to get to know us and wanted to know what we thought about their food. We will for sure be back!

We’ve actually been here twice. The first time I was in shock when I saw the prices for a hot dog, but the owner said the hot dogs we’re specially made and unlike anything we’d had before. He was right BUT these aren’t hot dogs in the traditional sense. These are sausages. They don’t come in a bun but on a large roll. The bread is not soft as a bun would be. I am a true Chicago girl and the Chicago dog here is as unauthentic as possible. No Vienna hot dog and no squishy soft bun. Prices are out of line. Tried twice, there won’t be a third time.

Cool menu, with big oversized beef hot dogs! They could use a little bigger bun if you want to go hand-to-hand with your hot dog, otherwise they’re more fork and knife material. Big taste! They specialize in lobster rolls as well, which is on my try list next time! If you’re wondering about the rating in its early days, It’s a new place and I’m thinking the variations of Sandra the one star wonder is someone who may have worked here on open, which is why you see raves and jeers. Service is great. I drop it one star because, even the the fries are fresh and cooked in peanut oil, they need to drop the time a bit because they’re pretty overcooked. Other than that, though it’s a great new little joint!

I originally gave this place 3 stars. However, the response from the owner made me change my mind. Wow. Way to blame the customer. YES. I did see the prices listed for the toppings, what I did not know was that the quantity of the topping was minuscule and ridiculous considering the high price. On top of that, I find it extremely brave of you to respond in that manner considering that your place has only been open for a short period of time and you are receiving so many complaints on Unilocal.Like I said, I enjoyed the food but it was not worth the price. I definitely would not recommend this place now, seeing as how this is how you treat customers.

If you want an all beef hot dog(which is not my usual go to but I love hot dogs) with fun options, this is your place. They have choices and combinations already mapped out or you can create your own. Service is very friendly and the cook is super sweet! My friend enjoyed her hot dog immensely and I loved the extras I had on my mine! The down side is getting their credit card machine up and running. When I was there, you were only able to pay with cash or credit card if it’s not a chip card. All of mine are chip cards. The owner attempted running it a few times, but to no avail. Luckily, my friend had cash or I’m not sure what would have happened since we had already ordered. It was an uncomfortable situation.
