This place probably won’t make it. I have eaten here twice. Each time it just seemed to me like I was at a flea market. When I mean by that is that they were kind of making it up as they went. The food really isn’t that great. In fact it’s better at its sister location in the town center mall in Boca. Each time I have eaten here, maybe only one other person came in to eat in the hour I was sitting there. Not very promising.

This place is VERY misleading. I have come to the conclusion that they PURPOSELY do not put pricing on the menu board in an effort to MISLEAD customers. I came in there after going to their boca raton location where the paninis are 8.95. I asked about one of the paninis and without telling me the price, the worker immediately starts making the sandwich. i think to myself, no big deal, since I thought I was aware of the pricing. NOPE! The total for the panini with chips(that I never asked for, nor did I get to choose what chip I wanted) was 13.50! What?! That’s way high even for delray! PLUS it is not what is on their website. So, I figured I should take a menu and know the pricing at this location for next time so I don’t pick an overpriced item. I ask the cashier and what do you know, NOMENUWITHPRICING! They totally deceive people on a daily basis. What restaurant does not have something as simple as a menu with pricing listed. Basically this place does not have pricing anywhere I would assume so that they can charge what they want. That is not a way to run a business. I was so flabbergasted that I went to my car when finally I decided to look at the Unilocal reviews. I go online and see that their menu prices are lower. Turns out this is a common thing. They make up their prices and they are shady about groupons. I call the place and tell them about my concern. I was not planning on returning the sandwich, just wanted them to know my concern as the sandwich smelled good and I was hungry. The guy pretty much begged me to return it and give me my money back. Did not try to help me at all. He basically was like«Ya this happens all the time. if you feel like we are lying, return it! I don’t want to argue!» I was not arguing and I was very upset by his response so I felt I should returned the sandwich. Sad, because I really like paninis and would have been a regular had the pricing been fairly labeled. Totally horrible service from me simply trying to inquire on their pricing tactics. WILLNOTRETURN. If you are going to have pricey items, at least be upfront with your pricing. Trying to mislead people is wrong!

Not worth anyone’s time. Had a Groupon, which expires this month, so I thought I’d try it, despite the bad reviews. First sign of trouble, it’s lunchtime and not a soul in the place. Second, just as previously posted, no prices on anything, even the specials board outside. The guy at the counter said to ask select something and he’d get us a price. As soon as I said I had a Groupon, he explained they were no longer doing business with Groupon, but would give me credit for what I paid. We promptly left. What a scam!

Oh it all started out so well I was wondering why all the low rating reviews, then I checked out and it all made sense. So the story goes, like many others, I decided to grab lunch here since I had a Groupon which would expire next week. It was a $ 20 value to spend. I entered the café, and was so surprised how cute it was inside. It looked very«hole-in-the-wall», rustic but European, I was totally digging it. They have 3 flat screens on the wall displaying the menu — panini, pizza, coffee, gelato etc. No prices though. I inquired if I could use my Groupon and the gentleman was very friendly and said absolutely so I ordered a Romano panini(prosciutto, tomato, mozzarella, arugala, balsamic glaze and olive oil) and a glass of Riesling. I sat in a comfy lounge chair facing the street and people watched with one eye and eyeballed the Steve Harvey show on the TV with the other one. The man brought me my glass and wine, followed by my sandwich and side of chips. It wasn’t very panini-ish, more a sandwich with toasted ciabatta bread, delicious nonetheless. The wine didn’t taste like Riesling to be, I wouldn’t be surprise if I didn’t get a glass of Chardonnay instead, luckily for them I’m a fish that drinks pretty much anything. Yes everything was yummy, yes the atmosphere was relaxed, yes I enjoyed myself. I then went to cash out. I decided to take a Snapple to-go as I was thirsty. So lets recount: one panini, one glass of wine, one snapple — $ 20 credit. I thought I’d easy be in the clear, but no, I still had to pay $ 5 on my bill. I was a bit in shock, did I have a $ 10 panini, $ 10 glass of wine and a $ 5 snapple? This was a basic lunch after all. I was astounded at the prices, this is not the Ritz, and I didn’t order a bottle of wine and fillet mignon, where the hell did those prices come from? Totally unrealistic for lunch, thank God I had a Groupon but either was I was out of pocket more than what I would pay for an average lunch, and to be honest will all the lunch specials in downtown, this place cannot compete. For the price factor alone, I won’t be back. I should have seen the warning when the menu on the wall had no prices, mama always told me, no price tags mean you can’t afford it… she wasn’t kidding.

I should have known better looking at that name … Café + Gelato + Panini + Winebar. Confused concept it was! The wine selection for a «winebar» was meh, but have to say a couple came it shortly after us and ordered a panini when smelled delicious! Didn’t inspire me enough to try it … maybe next time we’re in Delray.

I went in with my friend and asked what they had that was white and fruity. The girl behind the counter gave me a blank stare and said«we don’t have that». I asked what do you have? She said«chardonnay?». She brings out a bottle from the fridge and it was barely a glass. I asked her what else do you have. She points to the top of the bar. All single opened wines, and had to ask how long have they been opened for? Are they fresh? Do you know anything about your product? I mean they advertise they are a wine bar, and know nothing about their product or have it!!! Cool ambiance…

Small and cozy inside. Prices are average and the beers are HUGE. The day we went they only had 2 beer choices and 1 wine choice. May be an indication of how business is. My Panini, though very tasty did not have much ingredients. Lesly’s Ham and Cheese Crêpe with Egg was great. All in all this spot is worth a visit due to location, atmoshere and flavors. Price wise seems to come down to what you order.

My husband and I wanted to try this place for breakfast, so we popped in Sunday morning about 10:30am, Groupon in hand. To my surprise, they were out of coffee. Yes, a café was out of coffee. I was directed to Starbucks next door and told I could bring my coffee back to Café Gelato Panini without issue. Really? The whole point in going to a café for coffee is that it is NOT Starbucks. There is something about the experience of holding a warm, ceramic coffee mug in both hands, and just sipping the coffee as you nibble on your meal. Drinking Starbucks coffee out of a paper cup just isn’t the same. The digital menu boards in the café were not working properly, so the counter person handed each of us a paper menu and explained that they were offering«Freestyle breakfast crepes». I’m in! I ordered the caprese crêpe, but with egg added. My husband ordered the caprese panini along with a strawberry frost. While our meals were being made, I hopped next door to Starbucks(to my dismay, but I did it anyway), and came back with plenty of time to wait for our meals. Mine was served first, and I probably ate about 2⁄3 to ¾ of it before my husband’s panini was brought out. There was only ONE person working, yet there were 3 couples waiting for food. Of course the food would be poorly timed! How could the guy taking orders also be the guy cooking the food, and be the same guy running orders to tables? NEWSFLASH to Café Gelato Panini — It’s Sunday morning. People want coffee at a café. Staff another person rather than making one guy take orders, cook food, and deliver to tables. You’ll create happier customers! Overall, the food was fine. Nothing great, nothing super memorable. The service was as good as it could be, given the circumstances. My husband’s panini was pretty skimpy, yet my breakfast crêpe was plentiful and tasty. The ambiance here is quaint and pretty cool, and I’d actually consider coming back in the evening for a glass of wine. Not sure I’d return for breakfast again though.

This is the third time I’ve come here and they were pout of everything we wanted to order: no quiche, no empanadas, no steak. We were basically given a small list of what they DID have. The employee’s excuse was«I’m just an employee, and our freezer broke.» The food is good, but this isn’t the first time they haven’t had half the items on their menu. Good food, mediocre service, horrible selection.

Looking for lunch on Atlantic Avenue and found this place on the shady side of the street. Had a Romano Panini with mozzarella, prosciutto and tomatoes. It was nicely toasted and served with chips. Ate outside, and although you order at the counter, the paninis were brought to the table. Little pricey when you add a soda but it’s Delray Beach.

I think this is a relatively new place, and the second star is to acknowledge that it’s not hopeless. We placed our order and had to correct it several times as the wrong food and drinks came to our table. This may have had something to do with the blaring music: are you a wine bar or a nightclub? As for the food, we ordered three different squares of pizza, two of which were unacceptably dry in the outer crust. We’re talking croûton-level dryness. The salads were better: fresh and well-dressed. The panini looked good and if I went back I’d be inclined to give those a try. My wife commented that we are spoiled with good food living in Portland. True.

I only give 4 stars so that in our future visits I can further assess this wonderful little place. We walked here on a nice sunny Sunday afternon. Upon arrival the inside is dark yet inviting, I actually really like that there are no bright lights but instead gentle little movie star bulbs. The music was loud but not too loud… the place has a beachy feel with all the knotted wood panels on the walls. We live within walking distance as I mentioned… I can imagine if I were visiting delray on a beach vacation if I were to come here it would be one of the reasons I’d want to move here. I ordered the spinach quiche which was excellent. My fiancé ordered the lasagna which we both thought was delicious. Staff was friendly and attentive. After brunch we sat in the corner and played a game of chess. The post lunch game was a perfect end to out outing. We will be back for more food and another game of chess!!! Thank you for coming to our neighborhood

Thought I would give this new place a try since there was a Groupon promo going on. Went in and ordered a panini sandwich that was… ok. I also ordered 4 empanadas to go: 2 chicken &2 beef. Got hom and found that they were all beef. Most importantly, they were loaded with oil, grease, etc. Not dry & crispy… more soggy. I love empanadas and won’t be going back here for them…

First time here. Ordered the Margherita Square. It was served cold and undercooked. The plate was sent back for more cooking. They had some nice looking Turkey Wraps that were brought out for the front display and I wished I had ordered one instead. The«fresh» lemonade was to watered down for my taste. The guys behind the counter were nice but lunch was not! Dont think I will come back, well not for pizza anyway.

Their motto: «Saving the world one panini at a time…» For me, this spot is very much a 3-star experience. It’s quick & clean. Considering my office is a short stroll away, the location is extremely convenient. It’s not my favorite lunch spot — However, I wouldn’t suggest that you overlook it due to a tough star-rating. They have a wide range of pre-cooked items and flavors. Such as: gourmet paninis to salads, italian pastries, gelato, healthy pies and quiches and desserts. I haven’t tried the coffee yet, but with their claim that, «the coffee drinks prepared at CGP will make you forget about any other coffee you have ever tried before», certainly has peaked my interests. The Panini!: A panini & chips combo is $ 7.95. Options include: Toscano, Romano, Abruzzese, Capresse, Genovese & Calabresse. Gelato!: Small $ 3.95, Medium $ 4.95, Large $ 5.95 Sooth Frosty Drinks!: $ 4.95 Banana, Pinapple Frost, Strawberry — Banana Frost, Blueberry — Raspberry Frost Overall: The staff is friendly, the interior ambiance is cozy and the food is descently descent.
