I’m from out of the state. So my grandpa took me here since I was visiting. The food was great. It was fresh and seasoned just right. The staff were polite and kind. The place was really clean. I had a wonderful experience here. When I come back to visit my grandpa I will definitely be back

We really enjoyed our meal here last night. The atmosphere was fun and the staff very welcoming and helpful. We ordered a variety of dishes from eggplant to pizza to mussels and baked ziti. All dishes were served piping hot and portions plentiful. The kind staff did not make us feel rushed even though we stayed well past closing time. Thank you for that. We were in town for a memorial service and appreciate having some time to connect.

Great vodka sauce, excellent service and vino! Bar service was quick and they were very welcoming and accommodating. Very family friends as well.

Love this local Italian restaurant, have been coming here for awhile! They always serve you fresh bread and I love how every meal comes with your choice of a soup or salad. The waitstaff is always very friendly and they always come and check on you a lot during your visit which is great. I got the Penne Vodka which has always been my favorite: the portion is very large and worth the money; the vodka sauce is one of my favorites in the area. My friend got the calamari and it was delicious and crunchy. For dessert we got the NY Cheesecake and the Raspberry Sorbet. Both were amazing and we will definitely come back again! Great family and calming atmosphere!

Eggplant parm is too thick and soggy, salad was brown and the house Italian was mediocre at best.

If you want authentic Italian food or something gourmet, don’t go here. If you plan on take out, don’t go here. This is a red sauce restaurant and they can never get a take out order right. So why go? It’s a blast from the past. Elevated booths, red sauce pasta, cheap house wine. It’s clean, and the staff is pretty attentive. I like the eggplant florentine which was a hearty Lenten meal this winter. And the house creamy Italian salad dressing is really good too.

I’ve been here many times and absolutely love it. The family that owns it is super friendly and remember my name when I come in, so that’s pretty awesome. Their pizza is top notch and they have really reasonable lunch specials. I normally come here for lunch but have stopped by for dinner and carry-out pizza. I’ve never had anything less than good here, highly recommend! Oh, and the sorbet bomb dessert… if they still have it you have to get it. So good.

Went the other night as a last minute dinner plan. I ordered the Fettuccine Chicken Alfredo. It was very bland. It had no taste at all. I added cheese, salt, pepper, & red pepper. Then it became edible. Food coming out of the kitchen should have some seasoning to it. Sad to say, this had none. There are many other restaurants in the area… I prob won’t be going back anytime soon.

Ordinary and nothing else. Gave it a try cause I live in Delmar. Dish swimming in sauce, lame salad, old bread which is not the worst part. Waiter never checked on me and was AWOL for way too long after I finished my meal. It’s also not cheap to eat here. Go to Bellini’s in Slingerlands or if you don’t mind going downtown, then eat at Café Capriccio.

This was my first time back in a while. The menu is a typical neighborhood red sauce list. The food was fresh and tasty. I had the veal parm and it was crisp and well seasoned. My wife had a chicken pesto pizza that was tasty and a spinach salad that was well prepared. The bread was excellent. Service was attentive and friendly. We enjoyed the meal, a good neighborhood place.

Wrong!!! Can’t believe they aren’t embarrassed to serve wings that are absolutely saturated with fat, over cooked, and no flavor at all. As soon as we opened the container it looked like something that had been pulled out of a dumpster. Pizza went just as well with the wings

Ordered chicken Parmesan dinners and really enjoyed them. The sauce was quality, came salad or soup. Real quick delivery as well. Will order again and soon

What a great find this place was. We stopped in over the weekend for dinner after driving around for a while trying to decide on a place to eat. Glad we did. I had the chicken parm and it was excellent. The portion was quite large although I did manage to finish it. The bread was warm that came with it which is always great. My other half had the broccoli white pizza which he loved. The ice tea was also really good — normally I wouldn’t comment on that but it was really good. lol Overall we loved this place. Our waiter Ryan was very attentive and friendly. Can’t wait to go back!

I have updated my review because I discovered my new obsession — Mercato’s Buffalo Chicken Pizza. I was reluctant to try it but a friend said it was the best. He was right. Add this to your menu choices. Diced chicken tossed in a just spicy enough wing sauce with bleu cheese atop their already excellent pie. Another reason to make this place a regular dining choice.

Great Italian food and atmosphere, very pleasant looking restaurant which you wouldn’t guess from the outside. Good prices considering the absolute quality of the food. Kind of a limited menu but there’s always something I can find that satisfies my occasional Italian craving The staff and owners are super friendly and attentive which is a huge positive for me. I highly recommend this place.

So sad, it used to be such a great place. prices went up, quality went down, fewer menu choices. In the middle of our meal, our waiter went off to work in the kitchen. maybe we will try them again if we see a bunch of good reviews in the future

I haven’t been here in quite some time It is true there are many restaurants to choose from If you are looking for great Italian food in a traditional Italian restaurant try mercatos Customer service speaks volumes in today’s competitive market The owner was very attentive and the food amazing. Try it once you won’t be disappointed!!!

We used to LOVE this place but unfortunately, it’s quality has not held up. $ 18 for a pizza!!! And with soggy crust to beat. Too bad really, the people are so nice.

Mercato’s sets itself apart from the usual Italian theme. They do this by offering many variations on the standard dishes that reflect the Mediterranean roots of its owners. For example, salmon is offered three ways including one with garlic, asparagus, mushrooms, red peppers and artichokes with white wine. Chicken and veal are offered with pesto sauce or gorgonzola sauce. Eggplant is offered four different ways including Florentine with spinach and white wine. These are refreshing choices from the usual red sauce offerings but that is there too for the traditionalists. Calamari is sautéed in sauce rather than fried. The pizza is pretty good here. A few quibbles. I prefer my salmon medium-rare and so I need to request that. The default preparation will be well done to satisfy the neighborhood clientele. And they need to find better bread. A thick, crusty, darker version would be welcome. Service has always been eager to please. This is a chef owner deal and that is always a big plus. One of them, Tony is usually in the kitchen overseeing things. This is not gourmet dining. This is solid home style dining and it has a loyal following from the Delmar neighborhood and beyond. If you are looking for something different from the standard, tired red sauce routine, Mercato’s is the place to go.
