Nice shop, but lousy customer service. I’m sorry to say that after all these years and all those haircuts. Best of luck to them.

Very unhappy, I’ve been a Gregory’s customer for years. I recently visited for a haircut as a walk in for my usual barber. She was not there, this is the third barber I’ve had at Gregory’s that no longer works there. I allowed someone else to cut my hair, she seemed rushed a little and I tried to get her to be a bit more talkative but she didn’t seem to enthused… my hair cut looked ok after she put product in but the next day without product it looked ridiculous… I told her I don’t use product, she apparently didn’t take this into account. The price for a haircut is a hefty $ 22.50, yes for a haircut and for that price I expect someone to meticulously groom my hair and take the time required for near perfection. Tipping, you can no longer get cash back or anything for gratuity at the front desk… yeah they tell you to go across the street… what a joke, I guess I’ll have to find a new place to get my hair cut because this place has gone downhill.

First time here yesterday, and today I felt like writing a review of somewhere. I had a very pleasant experience at Gregory’s. This is definitely a «men’s establishment», in that I think most men are thought of in it’s design /interior and would generally feel comfortable there. We don’t generally feel as at ease in the salon atmosphere(I don’t think that’s too much of a generalization, but maybe just a tad). Gregory’s feels like a men’s establishment that isn’t trying too hard, and assumes some general dignity of its clientele. I’ve been to a few places where the ubiquitous sports and/or the attire of the ladies there felt like an insult to my intelligence, or maybe my evolutionary status. Yes, I like sports; yes, I’m attracted to women. But there’s just a LITTLE more to me than that. These other establishments are trying to cash in on this like so much advertising out there. And you can see it in the eyes of the other men that go; a little embarrassed with their decision to walk in the door. Not Gregory’s. Friendly and easy going reception when I walked in. I was offered coffee/water/tea while I waited(not long — walk ins welcome) Friendly and easy going barber/stylist. Happy with the cut, happy to tip. Glad to have a good place to go.

Great alternative to paying $ 50+ for a haircut at a stylist. And much better than a Mall cut. I’m very happy overall,

Very nice. but a $ 20 haircut should be more than 5 minutes.

This place is pretty nice. Very organized, they have a receptionist/sweeps up hair lady. What I liked best is the free stuff. I think next time I’m going to make an appointment, show up a half hour early so I can enjoy a coffee, read the Metroland, and eat some candy :) All in all, 4 stars. I did think the cut was a little pricey.

The person who had been cutting my hair had jumped from place to place, sometimes setting up in salons where old women were getting hair coloring and other times setting up in the worst areas of Albany. A week before my wedding, he disappeared completely. Gregory’s was opening the week after I left my job upstairs. I had watched the place being set up for weeks, and always meant to visit to check the place out. I needed a quality cut, but time was short with all the running around with family just before the wedding. I decided to take a short trip to Delmar and see what Gregory’s would offer. Gregory’s is a true barber shop. The place is clean, professional and caters to the needs of the men who visit. There is no choking on chemical fumes while someone is getting their hair permed, and no staring at empty walls while you wait for service. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and greats you warmly every time. Most of all, Gregory’s offers the best hair cuts I have ever had. Each member of the team takes their time to give the best cut possible. I have visited regularly for six years and have never walked away unsatisfied. Straight razor finish to each haircut is a great touch, makes you wonder how a haircut ever felt complete before. I am terrible at planning my time in advance so I am rarely able to take advantage of advance appointments, but the staff is always honest about the expected wait time and does their best to get to their customers as swiftly as possible. There are a few televisions and magazines that are generally worth reading to pass the few moments wait, so it has never been an issue. The few times I have been able to schedule in advance have always been extra pleasant, I highly recommend it if you’re better at planning than I am. They now have locations in Clifton Park and a few location opening in Guilderland, so if you have not had the best barber experience. My wife would say that the only problem with Gregory’s is that I wait too long between visits!
