Lovely high end mini dept store in Delhi, NY. Store feels right out of an affluent suburb. Quality merchandise, helpful salespeople, beautiful window displays and atmosphere. Wish the store was open a little later so I could shop there more frequently. A real shopping treat!

My new favorite store!
Stewart’s has been an icon, not only in Delhi, but in Delaware County, for years. George Stewart was a wonderful man who ran the store all his life. When George passed away last year, the business was purchased. The new owner has preserved and improved all the vintage aspects of the store, but the new inventory is something else! To die for! From women’s clothing, to men’s clothing, to children’s clothing, accessories, fabrics, buttons & yarns, housewares, candles soaps, literally EVERYTHING is artistic, interesting (often unique) and tempting! If I walked into this store in an upscale, trendy place like Saratoga Springs, I would be delighted. That it is in Delhi is simply unbelievable. What a treasure trove!

I noticed that the two reviews for Stewarts were both three year old. Stewarts has recently changed hands and has been totally re-​modeled. They did a great job in maintaining the old time department store look with friendly service and up to date quality inventory. All of the original fixtures were restored and used to give the store a one of a kind feel. It certainly is a must see for the whole region.

When you’re in the Delhi, Delaware county area this gem from the past is definitely worth a visit. Started in 1883, Stewart’s Department Store is still set up like an old time department store with a bit of everything from women’s wear to sewing notions to hunting gear. Be sure to check out the unique moveable rack system and custom made counters. Friendly service and good quality merchandise.
