This review is based on the Blue Bee Café, which is located inside Steinway Books. The Blue Bee Café is a great place to relax and unwind with a cup of coffee or tea and a good book in a quaint Victorian style atmosphere. This café counter is located in the front area of the bookstore serving coffee, tea, espresso drinks, hot pressed sandwiches, chicken salad sandwich, homemade soup of the day, and fresh baked goods. A variety of flavored Italian syrups can be added to any hot drink. The prices are pretty good and sandwiches/paninis are $ 4.95 plus tax(in 3⁄2011). There are a few small tables for eating in and plenty of used books on the shelves to choose from for purchase from Steinway Books. I stopped at the Blue Bee for some lunch recently. They had New England Clam Chowder in the big pot. I decided to order the Fresh Mozzarella, Pesto & Tomato Panini on hot pressed soft European flatbread, which was very good and delicious. I also checked out some interesting old local history books on the shelves and on display. This local bookstore and café is definitely a nice place to check out in Downtown Delhi!

We found this wonderful book store this summer and have already gone back several times. Owner is very nice and knowledgeable about books. I like that you can have coffee and relax with your book purchase. The selection is eclectic — you never know what you’ll find. I like the bargain books in the back. Definitely worth a visit.

There’s a lot to like about this bookstore. The collection, a mix of used and newer volumes, is eclectic and intelligently curated. The condition of the books is very good – as my friend pointed out, there’s nothing mouldering on the shelves, nothing you wouldn’t want to bring home to your collection. A major renovation as of May 2010 has substantially increased the store’s shelf-space and navigability, while adding a pleasant bakery and café, with comfy seating, in the front of the store. An excellent local interest section is certainly a strong point as the other reviewer here observed. I also think the cookbooks, poetry selection, gardening/nature, and art collections are strong. The history section is full of intriguing stuff, as is the extensive fiction selection. And I always find items of interest on the display tables throughout the shop. Given the size of the store, I think it’s got a lot to offer the average and not-so-average bookworm. The place isn’t huge, but it’s certainly not puny either – it’s just the right size to while away a couple of hours browsing. Nice lighting, appealing architecture, convenient location on Main Street, and the aforementioned eatables and drinkables make it desirable to linger. I’m particularly impressed with the owner and the welcoming treatment we have received in the shop. Stephanie has gone out of her way to locate at least one item that I really wanted to find and was genuinely pleased to be able to find it for me. Her interest in what she is doing is sincere, and that makes it very nice to visit this store. I’m glad this bookstore is here. Along with Bibliobarn, Steinway Books has quickly become my favorite bookstore in the area.
