This place has great service, but I won’t be returning for the food. It looks like if you are going for sushi, this place is probably great, however my husband and I went for a simple general tso’s chicken and a beef meal. The quality of the beef and the chicken were pretty awful in my opinion and severely disappointing for the price. I won’t be returning, but the staff was great. I am sure their sushi is their strong suit.

Great Delaware discovery and a culinary treat to end the new year. We were greeted by owner TJ and sat in the back to watch the sushi being made. Friendly and prompt service, appealing décor and our meals were both delicious — the Thai curry and the pick two lunch with miso soup, Alaska and shrimp tempura sushi. Great value for the price, especially for the curry, an extremely generous portion. Also enjoyed the green tea in the great teapot! Well worth the drive from Mount Vernon. We will be back.

This is our favorite Asian take out! 2 – 3 times a month we chose to Unilocal our pick-up order and it’s always on time, hot, and perfectly delicious. The beef is so melt in your mouth tender in the Dinner Mongolian Beef. My favorite fried rice! I find their sushi and sushi rolls to be beautiful, fresh, and some of the best I’ve ever ordered. Remember to tip on your take out! Be gracious and kind because what goes around comes around! Have a wonderful day, Fellow Unilocalers!

Good Asian food in quaint Delaware, Ohio that can’t be true… Yes why yes it is! Typhoon Asian Fusion Bistro has an expansive menu of Asian dishes along with Sushi. The restaurant is sleek and modern with a view of the sushi chief. Our service was friendly, though our server forgot my soup and gave us the wrong bill. All issues were quickly addressed in a kind efficient way. Prices are very reasonable. Typhoon offers a welcome veriety to the Delaware food sceen.

Have walked or driven by this place hundreds of times but never thought about going. A friend suggested we meet there for lunch as she heard a lot of good things about it. Sushi was out of this world. The Asian fusion roll was spectacular. You could taste the freshness. Soups were also tasty. I settled on sesame chicken sticking to something simple. It was probably the best I’ve ever had. Sauce was flavorful without being overpowering and it was served over green beans which was surprisingly good and different. Lunch portions were plentiful and reasonably priced. They have a good selection of craft beers on draft and a full bar. Some confusion with a couple drinks ordered off their own cocktail menu is the only thing that prevents me from giving 5 stars. Service was good and the drink error was corrected quickly and without excuses. I will definitely go back especially to try the other rolls they have.

I took my mom here for her birthday and it was a great experiencing from top to bottom. Friendly and prompt service and amazing food. We had the crab ran-goons(best I’ve ever had) and a couple of egg-rolls for an app. Then I had the crunchy tuna roll and Columbus roll for entrée while my mom had the buckeye beef something or other. It was all so well prepared and tasty. I’ll be back for sure.

Awesome menu with great prices. Go to place to get Sushi. Also great selection of beers on tab that they continue to rotate with different specialty beers.

Honestly, I’m very surprised by the highly rated reviews here. It started out with, we’re out of napkins so it looked like we were given bathroom paper towels. The wine I tried to order I was told they were out of. I settled for a glass of Chardonnay that tasted more like a Riesling. Now for the food, the edamame was strange tasting kind of like it was heated, got cold and reheated. The rice was undercooked. The sushi was very average and didn’t taste fresh. My bf refused to eat it. Final dish was general tso’s and again extremely average. There were quite a few pieces that were just too gristly to eat. The only positive thing is there’s a little patio outside which is nice in the summer. I just don’t see us returning.

Fantastic menu! I’ve had a lot of their food, and I’ve never been disappointed. Their sushi is artfully prepared, and the fried rice is better than any around – shrimp and veggies together is the best. The service is great and the management really cares about what they are doing.

I travel a fair bit with work. I’ve seen a lot of the world and I get to eat a lot of food(too much if I’m honest). Now. Did I expect to have the best sushi I’ve had in the US in sleepy Delaware Ohio? No. It’s incredible. The king crab sashimi deserves an early mention. As no matter how many times I go back, this is the best I’ve had anywhere. Full stop. The rolls are made well, the ones with cooked elements are done to perfection. My partner and I have been here three or four times since its opening. Even typing this is making me want to go back. The drinks are varied — great cocktail options — and a nice few local and international draft beers. Again. It’s over the street from barley hopsters — go there for the craft ales. This is all about the sushi. The dumplings are superb — I’d welcome any more dim sum on the menu — but it’s varied enough to give you a hell of a choice every time. The décor is not the usual sushi joint style. There’s an few patio tables out front if it’s warm, and a few seats at the bar for the quick lunchtime solo dine. Only tiny issue, would be the price of the drinks. But even that, is literally clutching at straws for a negative. The rolls I go for are; Kamikaze(shrimp topped with eel and more) Mountain(crab stick shrimp and more) Tsunami(eel jalapeño and avocado) All, the best. Seriously. The last time I was there, I spilled a newly ordered drink reaching for the cheque. I knocked the drink over(completely my fault) — they took it from the bill. They’re great — the food is superb — go out of your way to go. Lunch times they do an $ 11 menu(three individual rolls and a soup or salad) which I’ll be trying at some stage no doubt. Go. If you’re anywhere near it and want sushi — go. Trust me.

Typhoon is an awesome find among the gastropubs of downtown Delaware. They offer Chinese and Thai cuisine along with sushi(with a sushi bar in the back). The long and narrow space belies its size — it is large, with the kitchen behind the sushi bar, down a hallway. I’m bumping Typhoon’s star rating partially because the interior was so well put together — minimalist décor, dark paint, low lighting and great separation of space. We were greeted and seated promptly, past the main bar and near to the sushi bar. Great service, and the manager came around to ask about our meal. This dinner started off with spring rolls served with a spicy — sweet dipping sauce. For our entrees, I ordered a red curry dish with tofu and a salmon roll, because sitting next to the sushi bar was way too much temptation for me. SO glad I did! Regular sized rolls, BUT — they were FILLED with salmon that was diced to a texture that meshed well with the rice. It has been a long time since I’ve seen sushi portions that generous. My curry was equally surprising — plenty of fried tofu and vegetables in sauce. The potatoes in this dish must have been stir-fried or flash-fried, because all of a sudden I was eating fried potatoes in my curry — happy surprise! Their Japanese eggplant was also a standout in the dish. Very enjoyable meal, service, and space.

This by far the finest restaurant in Delaware and as for their sushi/sashimi, it is the best in Ohio. Portions are enormous and the pricing cannot be beat. I go there for the sashimi lunches and diners, the ambience but their food is superb for both Japanese and Thai. I’ve been enjoying sushi since my years in L.A. starting in 1976 and consider it my favorite of all the cuisines along with other Japanese & Thailand dishes. Typhoon does the best of all the above and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I used to come here when it was Chandra’s. The type of fare is pretty much the same but I think it’s better under the new management. I went on a Saturday for lunch with a few friends and ordered the Pad Thai. It was delicious. Usually I’m not a fan of peanuts on Asian food but they were not overwhelming at all. Good flavor and not too spicy. I also ordered a beer and it was HUGE. It also cost me $ 8…so there’s that but again, it was a large North High brew which I thought was cool. I was surprised they had that kind of a local brewery’s beer at this place. A pleasant surprise. My friends all got sushi and they seemed to enjoy it. It was cold so I wanted something hot. Vibe is lounge-y and modern. Very relaxing… especially with a beer. Prices are about average for an upper scale Asian fusion place. I think my meal was $ 12 but I couldn’t eat it all. It took awhile for our waiter to come back with the checks and there were few people in there so I don’t know what that was about. He was pleasant but even when this place was Chandra’s, they had issues with service. Definitely a nice addition to Delaware’s downtown food scene.

After several attempts to get in touch with upper management/ownership, I have heard absolutely nothing in reply to this abysmal service. I will continue speaking out against this«establishment.» I will also continue to not take my friends, family, work constituents; nor will I spend the average monthly amount($ 1000+) on eating out here. I implore Unilocalers not to spend money at a place that blatantly doesn’t appreciate patrons. I’m still bothered by my experience here.

The sushi here is AMAZING!!! And the prices are not astronomical. This is by far one of the few really good sushi places outside of Columbus. They also have a wide variety of Different Asian style dishes to choose from if sushi is «Not your thing.»:) I had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners and you can tell just by talking to him he has such a passion for culinary art as well as his guests that come in. If you have not yet had a chance to experience this wonderful little gem that Delaware has to offer you should really consider stopping by and seeing how GREAT this place is.

I’m shocked by the rave reviews. It was just ok. I wouldn’t recommend you deviate from the menu. They offer shrimp tempura and asked for veggie. It came with a weird sweet sauce. Husband says his sushi was pretty good. He had a salmon, a tuna, and an Alaskan roll. I had the veggie sushi entrée. The carrots were inedible, as in you couldn’t bite them. It looked really cool, though. Rice was on the sweet side.

Fantastic dinner. We highly recommend Typhoon for great Asian food. And it was great to see bartenders and servers from 12 West who temporarily lost their jobs due to the fire.(April 1 is the target date for the reopening of 12 West) Both restaurants are gems for Delaware – refreshing change from boring chain restaurants!

Brand new face in a location that has been a struggling Asian restaurant for years. New owners and new menu really took this place to the level that was very surprising. We’ve enjoyed the sushi /sashimi on several occasions and it is actually turning my wife into a sushi roll freak. Decent price($ 4 – 7) for pieces and rolls($ 8 – 12) depending on what you get. Wife had Kung Pao Chicken and it was exceptional — and it’s a dish that I don’t really enjoy. In our party of eight every single person raved about the food.

Delaware, Ohio is becoming a food mecca with several great independent restaurants gaining popularity and growing the food culture. Which lead me to stop into Typhoon Asian Fusion Bistro. I was very impressed with staff, owners, ambiance and last but certainly not least, the food which was first rate. I wanted to skim through a few of the dishes by starting with sushi. My partner in crime and I shared their«Royal Ginger» roll which was Pepper Tuna, Avocado and topped with Spicy Tuna and served with both Spicy Mayo and Wasabi Mayo. It was delicious! Next on our quest, we ordered the«Vietnamese Summer Roll» which features Fresh Mango, Lettuce, Steamed Shrimp, Avocado, cold Rice Noodles, served in a rice paper wrap on a sweet and spicy sauce. Again delicious! Our next endeavor was«off the menu» by requesting a simple«Spicy Crab» roll. I’m telling you, the sushi chef builds beautiful and tasty creations. I know that the requested roll is a bit average. but we use it as a standard in which we judge all sushi joints! It was perfect! I also wanted to try a traditional Asian dish, so I ordered«Mongolian Beef» which is thin sliced Flank Steak, caramelized Onions, Red Peppers, Scallions, Hoisin Sauce and Chili Pepper Oil served with steamed White Rice. It was by far the best Asian food I have had since moving to Central Ohio. If you haven’t had the chance to check out Typhoon Asian Fusion Bistro, you need too! Besides, visiting Delaware and all the great foodie destinations will definitely make the drive worth it!
