The Hair Studio & Day Spa

The studio felt relaxed, clean and stylish. Fantastic pedicure station for two! I treated my mom to a pedicure and we really enjoyed ourselves. The custom built pedi station allows you to chat comfortably while enjoying a full chair massage. It has two cushy seats with a little table for drinks in between.
We met Angie and Chels, lovely ladies who were professional and accommodating. The pedi products were good, and the groupon sale was great. I will definitely return for a pedi date with my friends or to treat my mom again.

I’ve only had a few services from The Hair Studio, but they’ve all been top notch. Recently I was there for a manicure with Ginger. She has a heart of gold and was wonderful to talk with while she worked. She did a wonderful job and offered good advice for any nail «issues» she saw. She definitely knows her stuff, having been in the business for quite some time.
I’ve also had some waxes done and the experiences have been exceptional. They are private, comfortable, relatively painless (hair is being ripped out from the root, people!), and very comparable in price to others. I once bought a Groupon to another salon for the same service, thinking I was getting a deal, but I quickly realized that they are not up to the par that The Hair Studio is. I have been going to the Hair Studio for about two years now. The services I get regularly are hair cuts and trims from Becca, facials and brow waxes from Kim.
They are very easy to book appointments when they are open, it’s a little more difficult if you try to leave a message or get put on hold when they’re busy. However, Kim and Becca have both provided me with their own contact info to make appointments if I have problems calling the main line. The atmosphere of the salon is the best in Delaware. It’s beautifully decorated, the color palate is modern and soothing and it is always very clean.
Kim’s services are amazing and she is very professional. I get facials because my skin reacts and breaks out when the season changes. She has years of experience, I get awesome results from her facials and her product recommendation after your facial is super helpful (and beneficial). If you let her tell you what kind of service you need when you schedule your appointment, you will be more than taken care of and she’s a wealth of skincare knowledge and advice. After having my brows screwed up royally by someone else, she was the only person I trusted to touch them (and she helped me recover them). She listens to what I want and remembers the shape I prefer even if I neglect them for a while.
Becca is very sweet and doesn’t get irritated even when I ask the same questions at every cut and make her check my part a million times. She understands the texture of my hair and my cal licks and has transitioned my hair from long to short and back to long. She is precise at every step and takes the time to understand what I want in the long term and short term transition phases. She always asks what I like and what irritates me and makes recommendations based on what I want at the time for cuts and types of products. She also has taught me more about how to style my hair than any other stylist I’ve had.
The Hair Studio is a locally owned spa. The services are never rushed even if you are a bit late, and they give a very personalized service at every appointment. I like getting the high quality service and supporting a local business for a very reasonable cost and would highly recommend Becca and Kim to anyone new to Delaware or seeking a new spa.
