Bottom line — go to 1820 Collective. It is so worth it. I’d been going to Karlee for nearly a year (and unfortunately graduated and moved away and won’t be able to go to her anymore!!) and she is my hair soulmate. Every time I went she completely understood what I was going for, got as excited about it as me, and then executed it perfectly. I’ll break it down by experience so you can see just how amazing she is.
The first time I went to Karlee I wanted highlights to go a little more towards red for the fall. She got it instantly, helping me pick the perfect autumn shade. I loved it.
Another time I was going for something more dramatic — a ashy-​blond to white sombre. She helped me pick exact shades that would flatter my skin tone, picked a beautiful purple-​ish toner to get to the white I was looking for, and even re-​dyed the roots when they weren’t exactly what we’d both pictured.
The last time I went to her I went all out and dyed my hair blue. She looked at my example pictures and completely got what I was looking for, and again worked tirelessly to get the exact color palette I wanted.
Karlee is amazing, and while I don’t have experience with other 1820 stylists I have watched them work while waiting for my own hair to process (going blue takes hours, guys) and can confidently say that you are in good hands at 1820. Highly highly highly recommend.

Listen you snobs from Columbus, this is THE BEST place to get your hair cut in the Central Ohio area, hands down. After six weeks of wearing my hair in a ponytail because I was too lazy and bored to do anything with it I went to see Paul. I said, «Paul, you’ve got to help me! A girl cannot live by ponytail alone.» So he said, «Well your hair is always off your neck anyway, so why don’t we just go short. Like bob short. Ready?» And off we went. Snip snip. Chop chop. I never looked back. Paul is great. He gave a thorough consult and the perfect cut. I now see Loren on a regular basis and she is amazing, as well. It’s good to know your clients as a hairdresser and to know how crazy they are willing to get. Loren and Paul both allow me to be adventurous with a little asymmetrical, curly bob that we can add some flair to with the change of the seasons. Go see either one of them. Tell them Nicole sent you. We’re all buds. I seriously feel like family when I’m there.

I have been going to this place for about two years now and I won’t trust anyone else with my hair. It is hands down the best place to get your hair done in Delaware. I drive out of my way to attend this salon. I have had my hair cut, styled and dyed and never left unhappy or dissatisfied.
The receptionist and stylist are very friendly and welcoming. They make it a point to have meaningful conversations or comment on your latest hair style. My stylist always listens to my concerns and talks me through the procedures, produces and even the science behind why my hair is the way it is. the only down side is the service can be pricy, but I think it is worth it!

Love, love, love this place. I’m sad that it’s more than an hour from my home, because I want to continue to get my hair cut there. The staff is friendly and attentive. The place is well-​designed. Loren is awesome.
I’m the sort of person who never likes my hair — I never dislike it — but I’m never going to be impressed by a haircut. It grows back, so who cares. Well, what Loren did with my hair impressed me. I love my haircut. I’ve received more compliments on this haircut than I have for all my other haircuts combined. Ok, perhaps I am exaggerating, but still… people seem to like my hair now (gosh, it must have been terrible before!).
