South Fork Brewing Company

My buddies and I took a trip to Delano, MN to try the new tap rooms. South Fork had really good beers and the flight was $ 8, not bad for 6 4 oz pours.
My favorite was their pumpkin, because they didn’t overpower it with nutmeg, which most fall beers do.
They really didn’t have any bad beers, and the atmosphere was quaint, and cozy.

This place has a good vibe and family style seating. Unfortunately the beer I had was a little off (Session IPA). The other IPA was not that great either. I don’t think it’s a regular thing though because my friend had a beer he really enjoyed. The popcorn was on point though!

We had a great time sampling brews at South Fork! Ken the bartender/​brewer cheerfully answered our questions, even though he had probably answered similar questions a thousand times before. He later came around the room and chatted with all of the customers. Flights of beer were labeled so we knew which we were tasting. The room has a fun vibe; board games, cards and a piano for anyone who cared to play. The space is bright and airy, it is not a typical dark bar setting. Oh, and the beer was great!

Great little family owned brewery. Casual setting. Great beer and owners are extremely friendly and will take the time to explain the beers. Seasonal options keep it fresh. Will be back for sure!

I’ve been here a few times now with the family. I like this place, the owners are very friendly and will take the time to talk beer with you and explain their product which i really enjoy. It’s great that they came to Delano which was in need of a local brewery. Every time I’ve been in there it’s been really slow and that was before Lupine opened up a couple blocks away so I can’t imagine that will help. They have games for kids to play which is great but they’re in serious need of some décor, music, anything inside, it’s pretty bare in there. The beer is pretty good and at good prices. We will definitely return and I hope business picks up.

South Fork taps into the local tradition of the south fork of the crow river. Sarah and Karen have one of the few woman-​owned brewing companies in Minnesota and they’ve done an excellent job creating a fun and open environment for everyone to enjoy here in the heart of Delano, MN.
