Food was tasty and fast. However, we went there because I was craving fried rice. I was told my meal came with fried rice and an egg roll. When I got home and opened the bag, there was neither. Totally disappointed to say the least. Doubt I’ll be going back there any time soon.

As a relatively broke college student who doesn’t have a car Tops is a pretty good place to get Chinese food. They don’t deliver but are ~15 minutes leisurely walk from the center of Stetson’s campus. My favorite things to order are the teriyaki chicken and the garlic broccoli.

Worse Chinese food I’ve ever had. I ordered a combination meal of General Tsos Chicken. The chicken was dry and hard, obvious it was not fresh chicken. And I’ve never had pork fried rice made with yellow rice but I wouldn’t have called it ‘fried rice’ by any stretch of the imagination. The egg roll wasn’t bad but it was way too large in size to be enjoyable and fell apart as soon as I took a bite. Being new to the area, I’m trying all types of new restaurants– safe to say, this is one I will scratch off my return list.

Love top China! There veggies are always Fresh and crunchy. Their tofu and veggie soup is the best. Spicy noodles with vegetables are wonderful. Fast and delishious! Thanks again Top China!

I was in town visiting my parents and they suggested we give top china another try. I really wish we hadn’t. I ordered the beef Szechuan … It wasn’t spicy at all — and the sauce was gelatinous. The only thing that was ok was the egg rolls.

This place I would say is very good. The best Chinese strip mall restaurant around. First off, I got the sesame chicken and it was very good, it had a nice crisp to it. But I didn’t like how it had scallions. Didn’t make it taste any better. Secondly, my dad ordered pork chow mein, didn’t look very appetizing but he said it was SOGOOD. The pork fried rice without veggies was good I only had a few problems, the place was big but a little dirty, not that big of a deal tho My biggest issue was the freshness, right after we ordered, we sat down and 30 seconds latter my food came out! Don’t know how fresh that was!!! Obviously not that freshly made if it cooked that fast(impossible) and my dads came out a lot later My overall experience was good, I would go back if I was in Deland again, but it wouldn’t be my first choice, I would try other places. This place wasn’t bad in food, but just how it was prepared was a little odd

I’ve been eating here for years both take out and dining in. Good food and very consistent though I’ve found the heat level varies greatly according to who is cooking in the back. Portions are large and the prices are very reasonable.

This place is always excellent. I’ve never had a bad experience there in the last 10 years. Great food, good service, generally not a very long wait. The only detractors are that the eat in dining room is a bit small, usually 4 to 5 parties in there max it out, and sometimes the person at the counter doesn’t speak English very well. But hey it’s a Chinese restaurant lol. The food more than makes up for it.

Just finished some take out My wife had the roasted pork and Chinese vegetables I had scallops in garlic sauce. Cooked very well my scallops were a little spicier than expected. We also had the boneless pork ribs, juicy, tender, flavorful. We have been taking out from Top China for ten years now. They are a mainstay for Stetson University Faculty, staff, and students. Their food is consistent; staff is always nice the quality is really good for take out, as good as I would expect on the plate of a decent Chinese restaurant. When the hurricanes hit here in 2004, they were fully staffed cooking with gas and battery operated lighting. They rock! Egg rolls are boring, fortune cookies are often stale. Most everything else I tried is really good. You CAN dine in at a few spartan tables, atmosphere is pretty spartan but clean.

I’ve had more great lunches sitting here and enjoying the din of orders being taken, food served, etc. The food is good for what it is, which is basic American-Chinese food. The service is incredibly quick and the prices are right. No complaints here.

Great food. Everything is always good. The shrimp fried rice, orange chicken and chicken chow mein are favorites. It’s best to get your food to go. The place is small and very busy, most of the time.
