This store is about one-quarter clothing and three-quarters grocery items. The clothing is generally quite fancy with emphasis on quinceañera dresses and formal suits for boys with a selection of leather goods and cowboy boots. However, my expertise lies more with the grocery side. I grew up in Southern California and my cooking repertoire centers heavily on Baja-style Mexican food. This is the best store I have found in the area for a great selection and reasonable price on all my essentials. With several brands of masa harina, many sweet and spicy snacks that were hawked to me by the ice cream man of my childhood, and enough authentic hot sauce brands to keep you on your toes for awhile, this has plenty of selection for the experienced cook and for the experimental snacker. Prices are reasonable(the Tapatio hot sauce I buy is as cheap here as it is at Wal-Mart and you’re supporting local business!), and the store includes a modest produce section mainly consisting of tomatoes, cilantro, tomatillos, onions, and jalapenos. The only thing that they do not sell that I think is essential for a Mexican store is the legendary«Mexicoke», made with real cane sugar. They do have Coke in bottles, but it is imported from Honduras and still made with high-fructose corn syrup. As an added bonus, lately, there has been a taco truck parked outside the store on weekends selling street tacos with 4 different choices for $ 1.50/taco that comes with the radish, cilantro, onions, and lime. A nice little touch to go with those chicharrones!
