Ok, so I literally JUST backed out of this driveway as fast as I could. «HOLEINTHEWALL» is one thing, but, pulling up to a months worth of newspapers and some kind of animal feces all over the place and having to walk through it to get to the front door is entirely another!!! I did not even make it to the front door before my husband and I both ran back to the car. This place is in the middle of nowhere, on the left is a run down house with sheep and goats hanging out in the front yard with the owners while they sit in broke down recliners and rested their feet on decrepit kitchen counters that were ripped out of someone’s gross kitchen. So, did I try the food, NOPE! I was not brave enough to walk through the sh** to get to the front door!

The food served here was absolutely delicious. This place is definitely a hidden gem. The service was courteous and the menu included a wide array of dishes at a fair price. The eggrolls were fried to a crisp perfection and the filling was nicely seasoned. The fried rice here is some of the best I’ve had in Austin, it contained the perfect ratio of ingredients. The Pad Gra Pow was completely amazing. It had that perfect level of pleasantly burning spice that you crave with Thai food. The only thing we thought came out«just okay» was the Pad Thai. It was slightly bland and was the least favorite I’ve had compared to other Thai restaurants. We improved it by sprucing it up with Sriracha, lime juice, cilantro, and chopped peanuts. Since 3 out of the 4 dishes exceeded our expectations, we gave this 5 stars. We will definitely be returning soon. Pearce Café is totally worth the drive and will not disappoint.

I found this place on Unilocal while visiting the COTA track from out of town. I’m very glad I did. This family-run restaurant serves very authentic Thai food. My family’s from Thailand and the food served here is like a good home cooked Thai meal. The shrimp Lard Na noodles were awesome with perfect gravy sauce. I also had the Yum Neua(beef salad). I was told the curry is hand made from scratch so I definitely want to try it the next time. Its in the middle of nowhere, but worth the trip especially if you’re visiting COTA. Décor is very meager, but its all about the food. Will definitely be back. Also its BYOB.

Mediocre Thai Food, but seeing how there’s nothing in Del Valle you could settle. Tried the Pad Thai, and it paled in comparison to others such as Little Thailand. But for what it was worth, okay. If your standards aren’t high or you just don’t got the gas to make out of Del Valle to dine, this place is for you

ah, disappointment — we meet again. this place wants to be good. it looks cute from the outside and being in del valle, we were glad to have something ethnic closer to home than Bastrop or Austin. the location is a little strange, it is located next to an ‘events center’ in the middle of the country and it felt like it was kind of a «cool» hang out place for the local youth. we enjoyed the sounds of one said youth bumping his bass in the parking lot for no apparent reason, the entire time we ate. he was such a bad ass??? there were also ppl hanging out in the back of the place, kinda near a gambling machine of some type, it was a little offputting. look, if you don’t make good rice, get out of here. it’s rice. it’s not complicated, but somehow my rice was kinda chewy and under cooked or overcooked, i’m not sure which one. the prices are okay. they have to be to make up for the poor quality of the food. the wonton crab dumplings were a joke, i wanted to send them back but my bf wouldn’t let me. it was more like a fried wonton, the cream cheese and crab was invisible and they were fried all to hell. the entrees were just okay, nothing was great or maybe even good… to boot, the table next to us found a hair in their food — confidence builder, eh? to go little thailand instead for a similar type of food in Del Valle, with a much better outcome. i’m shocked by the stars it has. UPDATE9⁄11 /14 — LIttle Thailand has shut down, so there isn’t much of an alternative to pearce café’s sadness

Seriously one of the best egg rolls I have ever had… and I feel credible when saying this because I am Chinese and has worked at many family owned Chinese restaurants. I’ve only had their pad Thai for lunch which is pretty good and on par with other restaurants. The lunch comes with a drink and egg roll for $ 6.40…pretty good deal. If you order an extra egg roll, make sure you check because they tend to forget them on take out orders. Too bad this place is so far away otherwise I would come more often.

When I want Thai food, it’s definitely worth the drive to Del Valle! I always order either the pad se ew OR lad na, those are my favorite two dishes. I’ve tried other Thai restaurants and nothing even compares. Definitely check this place out if you’re craving some good Thai food =)

This place is great! We moved to Del Valle(right out side of Austin) over 4 years ago. There are not a lot of things close so we are lucky to have anything like this. The good thing is it rocks! The food is great they have a small menu but still manage to create all of your favorites. The mixed vegetable fried rice is to die for! The prices are great for the area. If you haven’t stopped in do so! We have never eaten there just take out.

I got the Yum Nuer to go. It was so good and spicy I ate it all. As I drove home. With chopsticks. And a manual transmission.

It’s always great to find a great little family owned thai restaurant whose food stands out from the rest, and that’s what I found with Pearce Ln Café. Have eaten at this place a couple of times and, while out of town a little ways, it has really good thai food. The tom yum soup was full of lime leaves and chunks of lemongrass, sour spicy goodness that wasn’t too salty. The red curry lunch special was good and spicy, as well as being a great price. They seem to do a lot of to go orders, but there is plenty of dining area at the restaurant too. Cool folks, worth checking out!

Since they are in Del Valle they are almost the only game in town. Fortunately the food is really excellent. They make a great vegetable fried rice with a hint of cilantro and lime. I also really like the sweet and sour chicken which is more like honey chicken imo. It’s a really small restaurant and probably does a lot more take out than dine in. They have a variety of things on the menu and the prices are very reasonable. All in all Pearce Café hits all the right notes.

Tried this little café. They used to run a small kitchen in the grocery store next door. I enjoyed their take out then and was glad that they reopened in their own space with dine in capacity. The menu is full of the regular items that you will see on most Thai menus and they will cook it in their own regional style. Which I like better because most other Thai restaurants cook the Bangkok style which is sweeter and more liked by western palettes. It’ll be good but let me just say that if you want real authentic Thai you will have to ask them to cook it like they do for their own family which they will be more than glad to oblige. One additional note is that this is a family run restaurant and they cook for themselves every day too so sometimes if you ask them nicely and if you’re lucky they might have some cool authentic treats for you.

I stopped into this place for the first time today and I thought it was pretty great. The waitress offered me a lunch menu, with about ten choices on it. I didn’t see the Tom Yum that was on the full menu they have posted in the front window… I asked her if I could get some and she said yeah. I ordered a cup of that and the chicken Pad Plick, which is chicken stir fried with bamboo, red curry, coconut milk, and jalapeño. There was only one other party in the restaurant, table of five, they ordered at the same time I did and soon you could hear the wok going in the kitchen. Pretty quickly the waitress brought my soup, which I thought was a really good bowl of Tom Yum. There were still lime leaves and lemongrass in there that I had to pick out, no biggie, but it was hot and flavorful with a half-dozen or so big shrimp in it. Decent sized bowl of soup, what they call a «cup», it was no cup. The entrée came out a bit later and it was great too… lots of chicken, jalapeño strips and bamboo, really fresh looking and tasting, in a nice red curry. Big olé mound of steamed rice and a pretty decent egg roll, too. Good lunch-sized portions, just about perfect. The iced tea was pretty good as well. The entrée, including the tea, was $ 5.99…you can’t beat that with a stick! The soup was $ 3.75, worth every penny. This kind of good, cheap, tasty and spicy grub is really just right in my wheelhouse, I love it. They’ve got a nice little menu, including some great sounding appetizers, yellow and«Thai» curry(I assume that’s green), six different soups, and a lot of the usual stuff that you find in Thai places. They also have several familiar«Chinese» type entrees. It’s a little bit hidden, out on Pearce Lane in Del Valle… if you’re a fan of Little Thailand out on the highway, this might be a little farther than that coming from Austin. No booze though, which is no big deal to me. Hours11−3 and 5 – 9 Monday thru Saturday, closed Sunday.
