Whiskey Acres Distilling Co

we have visited a few times before for the tour and tasting. They have a tasting room and tours. We have been there to watch football games and drink bloody marys. They have great ideas for the cocktails they make with their distilled spirits. Last night we had the honor to be one of 50 people to be the first to taste their bourbon and buy a numbered bottle from this maiden batch of bourbon. If anyone loves bourbon on ice or served neat this is something you should taste. Very complex and unique flavors. They also served them in cocktails. An old fashion and a unique slush. I will not go into details of what makes them so special. I highly recommend you go on a tour and tasting to hear their story and discover for yourself.

Whiskey Acres Distilling Co we found this on our way home from dinner in Dekalb what a awesome place !! Such a nice surprise beautiful location great people and fun did I say fun ! We did a tasting and the most entertaining and informational master distiller explaining what they do here how and the awesome history behind this family if your looking for a day putting or evening under the stars (we lucked out with a full moon) this is worth your drive ! By the way we arrived late in evening and the staff couldn’t have been nicer we were not aware of their hours until someone in our party asked ! The owner Jamie came in and hated for a good amount of time and offer my hubby (a whiskey drinker from way back) a special blend and wowed him thanks for a great evening guys !

Very welcoming. Owners very knowledgeable. Love that they are seed to spirit! Grow the major ingredients on premises — nothing leaves. Also like they provide distilled mash as animal feed. Added bonus ladies — there are purse hooks on the tasting room bar. Owners are genuine and down to earth. Can’t wait for the bourbon!

This place is great. We showed up just before they closed one night in the summer (we didn’t know the hours), and the staff not only stayed and gave us the free samples, but they also stuck around and chatted with us. They essentially gave us the tour without the tour part. I’m not much of a whiskey drinker, but the staff was very knowledgeable and the mixed drinks were great. Definitely give this place a visit if you’re in the DeKalb area, whether you’re a whiskey drinker or not.

This place is amazing. You walk up to a small woodsy cabin on the property, it is decorated perfectly, smells amazing, and you are greeted by the owners and attentive, friendly staff. They make and barrel their own whiskey on premises and are there to eagerly share their excitement and knowledge with you.
You can browse the merchandise store, get cocktails and sit and enjoy, or get the tastings and a tour of the facility with an enthusiastic guide (I was blessed enough to have one of throwers share his knowledge with us). You can buy the bottles on-​site, get a souvenir shot glass with your tasting and guided tour…
Just get here. Bring a group of friends and enjoy another piece of local history in the making.

Had a wonderful Sunday afternoon with friends experiencing this cool place. Enjoyed a very knowledgeable tour that started at the edge of the cornfield where it all starts. The staff and owners were great! Nick gave a great tour. Looking forward to going back. I highly recommend going. Bring a little snack or picnic to enjoy with your tasting.

Awesome and friendly people make you feel very welcome. One of the owners Nick gave us a tour and showed how fresh everything is made and distilled. Support this place and give it a visit, their cocktails are delcious!

We were very lucky to find all three owners there for our visit. Their passion for their product was evident everywhere. The tour was so interesting, with plenty of time for questions and photos. The tasting experience is not to be missed. What a great way to spend an afternoon. They offer signature cocktails that are great, too. I love the concept of «seed to spirit». I think the future is very bright for all involved. Highly recommend visiting Whiskey Acres for a different and entertaining weekend jaunt.

Had a great summer day to enjoy their outdoor patio and some great cocktails! We had a group of 5 and joined a tour of about 5 more. Excellent knowledgeable tour from one of the owners, Jim. He seemed very excited to share everything he has learned in this new business venture. Great staff in the tasting room too!

Looking for something to do on a glorious August Sunday afternoon around Elburn, we discovered Whiskey Acres. We lucked out in getting one of the owners, Jamie, as our tour guide. We learned all about their «seed to spirit» production process that starts with the best of the corn grown on their DeKalb family farm.
The tasting experience was top-​notch with very knowledgeable and entertaining staff. There are book-​worthy stories everywhere you turn, from the historic family photo over the fireplace to the source of the fireplace’s fuel.
We plan to go back on a Friday or Saturday evening to enjoy a sunset over the corn fields on their scenic patio with one of their custom cocktails.

Great tour– attentive team helping you! Learned a lot — great thing for our area! Stop by– meet the owner– and enjoy good libations!

This place is great. We stopped in by chance and happened to catch a couple of the owners. Officially they aren’t open to the public yet but they took a few minutes to show us around and give us a taste. Really cool place and fantastic whiskey! They even had their brand new vodka which was like nothing I’ve ever had before. Can’t wait to come back when their cocktail patio and tasting room opens later this summer.
