Okay so I really wanted to love this place due to its convenient location to home even though my favorite bagels are from Einsteins and my favorite spreads are from Once Upon a Bagel in Highland Park. So here I had hopes that my two favorites would merge as one and that I would find Bagel Bin exceptional. But, I’ve definitely experienced much better. Coming it usually around 9am, they already were like half empty which is expected from the morning rush, no biggie. We’ve tried a bunch of bagels here from egg, cinnamon raisin, whole wheat, pumper nickle, etc. And my conclusion, is that they are way too big. I mean you get your money’s worth in terms of the amount of dough you get, pun intended. However, who wants these huge, chunky bagels. Think about how much cream cheese you have to put on top of them to make it even. I would always have to cut my one bagel in 3 slices and then toast it, and than it’s pretty decent. Also, aren’t bagels supposed to have holes? These are so big that they don’t have any. Now onto the cream cheese, as I’ve had both plain and chive and both have been super gooey and liquidy, they definitely could use a little thickness, unlike the bagels. The service is a hit or miss, sometimes the guy up front is nice, and other times, not so much, so it just depends. I don’t know if I’ll be back despite the close location.

LOVETHISPLACE! It’s always fresh or MADETOORDER! The owner Kevin values his customers, and goes out of his way to assist special events! On Saturday’s Kevin brings bagels to our salon, Hair Sensation, and what a hit. Bagel Bin has amazing sandwiches, soups, and multiple flavors of cream cheese. This is a family business not a corporate bagel factory… and in today’s times that says it all! Thank you Kevin and Bagel Bin for the fresh, hot yummy bagels!

Caution with using groupon! There is a giant sign that says $ 4.95 for sandwich, bagel chips and cole slaw. Another sign says free drink with sandwich purchase. Apparently there are hidden rules to using groupon and we ended up paying more and getting less even though there are no exclusions posted on groupon. The menu board is quite large but to our disappointment they were out of a lot of the posted items. Overall sandwich was good but disappointed at the restriction of our groupon purchase.

I obtained a $ 5 for $ 10 Groupon daily deal today at Bagel Bin using a $ 5 credit that I received from Groupon. I was looking forward to having lunch there and maybe bringing a bagel or two home — been by there a number of times, but never went in. The deal was valid today only(9⁄21) from 10:30AM — 4PM. I arrived a little after 2PM and immediately noticed a dark storefront. No lights on the outdoor sign above the door, nor was the«Open» sign on either. There was a sign on the window noting that Yom Kippur orders were being taken through 9/23, so I couldn’t envision that the place was out of business, but at a glance given the time of day, one would have thought they were. I walked up to the door and saw bagels in the bins, with a light on in the back and a single employee seemingly stocking racks of whatever he was making. My knocking at the door yielded no response. No note on the door explaining why they were closed well in advance of their usual 4PM time. Unfortunately, I did not have my cellphone with me, otherwise I would have called them too. My guess is that they were stocking up on getting Yom Kippur orders done and someone decided to «close early» to do it. That’s fine, but then they have no business having Groupon put deals out for when they are closed. And the fact that there wasn’t as much as a sign on the door explaining why they were closed was aggravating too. Funny thing is that there was a sticker on one of the windows advertising that they are reviewed on Unilocal! Yes they are — ONESTAR is all they’re getting from me. The only thing they proved to me today is yes, there is no such thing as a «free lunch»!!!

DON’T DOIT. This place is a flippin’ GHETTO. I walked in, and nobody’s working the counter. I wait about 3 minutes, then holler in the back«helllo?». no response. Wait another 2 minutes, then holler in the back(much louder) — hellllllo. Finally a guy comes around the corner, and I say«Is anybody working?». He responds«Not really». So i say«Should I go somewhere else?” — And HESHRUGS his shoulders, like ‘I don’t give a sh*t what you do, lady». So he takes my order, very simple, I want a bagel sandwich. I order my bagel, then the meat, and guess what — they don’t carry American cheese — even though it’s clearly listed on the big sign to order from. Great. So then he asks if i want chips or bagel chips. I say chips. he points to the ONE brand of basic potato chips. That’s it. No other options. The place was barely stocked with any thing. The guy was rude as hell. Forget it. I will NEVER set foot in that place again, and hopefulyl you won’t either. If they don’t care about their patrons they should just close. I don’t get it. I couldn’t wait to get back to work to write my review, and you can be darn sure that I will be posting my review on Facebook too — so that all my friends and coworkers don’t come here to get treated poorly for crappy food. I think the thing that got me most was, during the 5 or so minutes I was waiting for someone to come to the front — the door bell rang THREE more times — meaning someone was coming in or going out. And they didn’t even care enough to see if someone came in. I mean, what the heck??? Do they want customers or not? Maybe the store is a front for something else going on… in the back. Hmmmm

This place is horrible. I bought a Groupon, came in and the cashier/cook/owner(I think) is talking on the phone and not acknowledging me. Then he finishes on the phone and starts off with«what do you need?» I’m not bothered by that type of stuff, so I start telling him what kind of sandwich I want. He goes off to make my sandwich, but doesn’t wash his hands or puts any gloves on. I can see he’s the only guy in the place working, so he’s sweeping, cleaning, handling money and doing everything else around the place. When he finishes my sandwich, I asked him if he washes his hands and just tells me «yeah, I do» but he obviously didn’t before making my food. So I tell him that’s it’s pretty disgusting and he says«well, you don’t have to eat here.» That’s when I wished him luck and left. They don’t give a crap about customer.

I disagree with all the Unilocalers positive reviews on this one. I’m thankful that I had a Group On and didn’t have to pay full price! They have a meal deal here that gets you a bagel sandwich, bag of chips and a cookie. Well they were out of cookies so that was tough luck for my orders. The place was hot as hell. Turn on the AC!!! The bagels were super dense and over powered everything else on the sandwich. They were out of Swiss cheese for the corned beef and Swiss sandwich and the corned beef wasn’t very good. What kind of a sandwich place runs out of cheese? The bread to meat ratio was heavily in favor of the bread. I can’t go back here. Thankfully Bo Bo’s is in the same strip mall.

Best bagels in Chicago and the sandwiches are cheap. Only complaint is the service is hit or miss. The bagel chips are great, but they are always out. One time an employee told me they were out of bagel chips then the manager came back and gave the next customer bagel chips!

During my first and last visit to the Bagel Bin, there were no napkins in the napkin dispenser, no forks in the plastic utensil bin, no paper towels in the bathroom, and the soap had obviously run out, and their solution was to add so much water to the dispenser, it was completely diluted. Gross. Obviously people here don’t wash their hands if there’s no soap! I was the only customer in the store at noon on a weekday. It’s common sense… if your store isn’t busy, clean and stock items! The customers in line before me left in an angered frenzy, saying something along the lines of «This is nonsense! We’re not buying anything here!». After I ordered my lunch, the employee(possibly the owner?) disappeared into the back of the store and didn’t come out at all for another 15 minutes, even though another customer wondered in the store, waited at the empty counter for a couple minutes and left. Wow. The bagel sandwich was good, but the dude didn’t include all of the ingredients I asked for. I had to remind him that the sandwich was suppose to come with coleslaw. He said, «oh yeah» and pulled some generic tub of store-bought coleslaw out of the fridge to give me some. It tasted like horseradish. I took one bite and threw it out. He also told me the sandwich comes with chips, but there is absolutely no selection. Lays Classic Chips are the only choice. I’m guessing there was more of a selection at one point, but they probably never re-stocked them! To top it all off, there is a sign on the door advertising Wi-Fi, which doesn’t actually exist. The owner of this place needs to pay attention to details and get his/her s%@t together!

Bagel Bin is nothing fancy, but their tuna salad is fantastic. I have no clue what makes it so good, since it looks pretty simple, but it really is addictive. The bagels are good, not great. On our most recent visit they were kind of misshappen and overly homemade looking, also a bit big and doughy for my taste. I don’t recall them being this way but we hadn’t been in at least six months. But they are super nice and the sandwiches make up for the doughy bagels. Its not much to look at either, so we usually take it home. Did I mention the tuna is amazing?

Bagel Bin is a breakfast/lunch gem located in a strip mall in Deerfield. The good: Cheap prices, a lot of variety as far as bagels and cream cheese, tasty soups, yummy sandwiches, very friendly staff, a comfy seating area with a tv. The«meh»: The coffee. It can be a hit or a miss, or they can be out, BUT the employees will surely brew some more if you ask. :D

Yum, Yum, Yum! Better bagels and sandwiches than Einsteins. and the prices cannot be beat. I have never gotten anything I didn’t like from here. Cream cheeses are amazing too. Yum!!! Only negative, is that the place could definitely use a fresh coat of paint and some new furniture. it would be more inviting, instead of just some«hole in the wall» bagel place. However, this«hole in the wall» bagel place is a true gem! UPDATE: Looks like they read my mind and updated the place. It looks very cute. however, now I think because of the remodeling, they raised their prices. I still stand by the 4 star standing!

Excellent food, great prices, highly recommend! Bagels are fresh and delicious. They use Boarhead’s meats for lunch sandwiches, high quality. Baker’s dozen is a great deal. Friendly staff.

FANTASTICBAGELS! I consider myself a bagel expert since I’ve probably tried every bagel within the Chicago land and within the North Shore area. This place by far has the best bagels! They have the perfect amount of crispiness on the outside and soft and chewiness in the inside. They also have excellent breakfast sandwiches! They even use REAL eggs! There’s none of those fake eggs that you pour from a container… that most place uses. Service is fast and very friendly! Consider me a regular!!!

The Bin a nice little local bagel place. The staff is courteous and always friendly. And their bagels are pretty darn good for a reasonable price. My only complaint is that the jalapeño cheddar bagels I like are aways sold out by the time I get there, but that’s my fault really. I need to get up earlier for fresh bagels.

I had to pick up breakfast for some coworkers and since the dunkin donuts down the street is no longer there, I thought I’d give this place a try. I got the 13 bagels with 2 half-pound cream cheeses for only $ 10.95 + tax! I wasn’t expecting much, but the bagels were amazing! Nice crust on the outside, chewy on the inside… and the cream cheese was so creamy and light! I got the veggie light and strawberry and both were sooooo good! I only wish I had found this place sooner! I would have to say they have the best bagels I’ve ever had and the guy who filled my order and rang me up was so nice! I’m definitely going to become a regular here!!!

Never actually BEEN to the BIN, but my co-worker lives in Deerfield and brings in an assortment of bagels from time to time. When it is my turn to buy, I just have him pick them up for me from the Bagel Bin. Not only does it save me a trip, but they are the best bagels that I have ever had… So the next time you are in Deerfield looking for bagels(hey, it could happen) stop here.
