I visited Dr Atta at his Wauconda location as my son had a complex case of an overbite and cross-​bite. Several orthodontists recommended expensive surgeries which would have caused my son incredible discomfort. Dr Atta was kind, caring and considerate. His sole focus was on offering the best quality of care while bypassing unnecessary measures. I chose Dr Atta because his professional reputation was incredible as an orthodontic pioneer. But for my son, Dr Atta gave him beautiful teeth, the perfect bite and a smile that will last forever.

Dr. Atta is a competent orthodontist who is, unfortunately, unscrupulous and unpleasant. He was my childhood orthodontist and did a good job straightening my teeth. I remembered that he offered a lifetime guarantee on this work, so I approached him when my bottom teeth shifted out of alignment. He said that he could not fix them for free but offered to do so for $ 600, which he claimed would only cover fees and materials. I decided it was worth it, compared to what I would have to pay someone else, and paid him the $ 600 in full up front. Months later, he said that he needed to charge me extra for the retainer he had ordered for me. I said that I was not willing or able to pay extra and that we had agreed on $ 600. He said that I should get the money from my parents.
Moreover, my mom came with me to greet him as a long-​time family acquaintance, and instead of social niceties, he said, «Your daughter is just the same as always — difficult and demanding.» Yet I am certain I was polite and no more than mildly assertive with him. My mom and I were astonished. Now months later I found that he made not one but two unauthorized charges of $ 200 on my card, and that money was taken out of my account just in time for me not to have the mortgage as a result. Nice. I called him to complain about this after disputing the charge, and he would not even listen to me.
