The guy would not give me his name he looked Spanish with a comb over type of hair style. I ordered a cheese pizza and a spinach and cheese calzone. He was going to give me a calzone that has been out for God knows how long. I asked for a new one. When I received the calzone it was cheese and pepperoni. I told him I am allergic to pork/ham and asked him to remake what I originally asked for which was a SPINACHANDCHEESE calzone. He said he didn’t have anymore but he would make one fresh. When I got the new one there was still pepperoni on my calzone. Super frustrated. He said he cuts all pizza with the same pizza cutter. So unsanitary and especially when I specified to him that I am allergic to pepperoni you would think he would try a little harder to clean his cutter. When I asked for my money back because he clearly wasn’t understanding me, he argued with me. Told me not to come back. Argued with my aunt and was going to recharge her lol. Horrible service. Not even half of the story I’m just annoyed.

Good pizza, a little too pricey for me. Must be because it’s near the beach.

Wanted simple dinner in our hotel room on New Years Eve. Umberto’s delivered. Not the best pizza I’ve ever had, but I had no complaints — which is rare for me…

Small place, mostly a busy grab and go. Get the Grandma’s, don’t expect small talk from the counter staff and you’ll be fine. Solid pizza joint.

The grandmas pie is the boom and the wings different and awesome as well. I would give them 5 stars but every single time I order from them I wind up talking to the guy who is a complete prick and always has an attitude

I really can’t comment on any other item on the menu but the grandma’s pizza is absolutely amazing! I’m really not a big fan of pizza to start off. I prefer extra thin crust pizza and extra sauce and less cheese so if you are a fan of the opposite, stop reading this review. Anytime we do order pizza, it’s typically a Margarita pizza and the grandma’s pizza at Umberto’s fits my palette. Great balance of cheese and sauce with sprinkles of fresh basil and a chewy crust yet crispy on the bottom pie on the beach is the perfect cheap date.

Update: 12÷08÷15 I’ve been back for slices several times in the past couple of months. The pizza is good(tasty) and my critique of the employees was based on my initial experience with a particular crew. Since then, I’ve interacted with some different folks and been very pleased, all around. The best part is they’re open real late. Give them a shot. Original Review: Decent pizza, a little pricey with zero customer service. None of the employees have any people skills, whatsoever. Not friendly, nor helpful. I prefer to take my business elsewhere, where at least I get a «Hello, how may I help you» or a «thank you.» You won’t get that here. Instead, you’ll get a death stare from someone who barely speaks English and who has zero interest in your experience/satisfaction.

Pizza is good. However, the customer service leaves something to be desired. While the young man working tried to be accommodating, the older man working was a complete asshole. I was told my pizza slices were hot and they were ice cold. Thank god I have a microwave…

As far as pizza goes outside of NY this is as good as it gets! Margarita thin crust with fresh mozzarella and basil! Grandmas is excellent if you like a thicker crust. They also have free delivery.

Having heard a lot of good things about this place I thought I would give it a shot. The ambiance was nice, and very quiet. It was a very romantic setting. But then there was the matter of their pizza, which, for the amount of money and hype I expected to be better than it was. We ordered the grandmas pizza and it was only decent. Nothing special, I wouldn’t go out of my way for it.

Great little pizza joint right across the street from the beach and pier. Serves slices or whole pies, great choice when you want a bite on the way to, or from, the sand. Granma’s pies rock, as does the calzone and stromboli.

Worst pizza I’ve had in years. Domino’s is even better than this. The Commercial blvd location has amazing pizza. This place, no comparison! Chewy, underdone dough and the crust tasted medicinal like the oven had cleaner still on it. Gross! Even after a day of bar hopping

Honestly speaking, the grandma pizza is the best pizza I’ve had in Florida. It’s definitely on the sweeter side as far as the sauce goes, but the dough is perfect. Each time is as good as the last if not better. I actually crave this pizza multiple times during the week! Wish it was easier to park and get to. Also wish there was more seating, but grab one to go and enjoy it on the boardwalk beachside!

Getting my gooey hot cheese on!!! And you should too!!! I absolutely loveeeeee this place. Best pizza around deerfield beach area. It’s basically a hole in the wall kind of pick up place right near the beach. They are constantly making fresh pizzas right in front of you. I know they deliver but never have gotten the pizza delivered from them. Instead we order one big pizza to go and eat it right near the beach. Honestly one of the best date night ideas around the beach or just a chilled out kind of the night. Constantly their pizza has been good, the many times we have been there. ~

Great location . Pizza not so great. I thought that pizza looked great but thAt was about it no flavor and dough was tough. The people are really rude. Only thing this has going for itself is location. I would probably get a frozen pizza instead.

On our last night in Florida, I wanted to stay in and suggested that we order a pizza from Umberto’s. We ordered the medium Grandma’s pizza was your basic pizza with tomato sauce, mozzarella, garlic, fresh basil and oregano. We placed our ordered and came back in 15 – 20 minutes to pick it up, hot and ready and only $ 13. Add red peppers, can’t beat that. ;)

Best pizza I had so far in Florida. The pizza was baked just right. The sauce, the crust, everything was just really good. The service was also really good. The workers were very nice. Definitely would come back if I ever get the chance to.

Ordered their«brick oven» pizza. While the pizza looks like it could be marvelous, the dough and crust are somewhat uneventful. The sauce is kind of bland too. However, with delivery options being a little limited, Umberto’s is a place I would probably call back. Please note, I do a lot of pizza. So, while there was nothing bad about this pie, it just didn’t have the sizzle factor I was hoping for. The price was very good though. Under $ 15.00 for a large and no delivery«charge.» Try Umberto’s, Unilocalers.

Oh, Umberto’s… I am so profoundly sad I only got to eat here once when I was in Deerfield Beach. The crust was the perfect amount of crispy, the sauce was delicious the cheese was perfectly melted. It was a truly perfect slice of pizza. As other reviewers have pointed out, there’s only the counter inside and two small benches outside. I recommend just taking your slices down to the beach and engaging in some people watching while you eat. All I can say is after having eaten at various pizza joints across the country who have won assorted awards in national competitions, Umberto’s blows several of them out of the water and I’m wondering why they aren’t entering competitions because they’ve got winning stuff right here. The next time I’m in Florida I will absolutely go out of my way to come here again.
