JB’s on the Beach

give 3 stars for food but no star for service. went to JBs for the first time for a late lunch, our server and food came out really fast, i had Lobster roll which is delicious. but when we tried to look for our server he was no where to be found, we tried to get help from other servers but we were ignored. had to wait for 20 mins to get our check, unbelievable.

A popular venue right on the beach in Deerfield. I enjoy coming for their Happy Hour (M-​F 4−7pm) and $ 5 Bar Bites as well as live music. I used to love the burger that used to be on that menu. It was a steal for $ 5. They have since removed it. The conch fritters and quesadilla are still on there and also good.
This place can get crowded on weekends so sometimes it’s a challenge to find a seat at the bar. There is also an inside bar, but the outside one is the place to be.
They also have a rewards program and it’s a pretty good deal that’s free. You get $ 20 when you spend $ 200, which isn’t that hard to do actually. I have redeemed it a few times and I don’t go that often either.
Recommended. It’s a great place to take out of towners, especially since its ambiance and location make for a memorable experience.

I was so excited about writing this review that I started to write it in the bathroom of the restaurant (sorry to be gross) and by the way they are clean and nice
Here from N Y. Celebrating my moms 88^th. Came here for lunch so we can see the sun and ocean The appetizers of seafood soup and Mediterranean salad were fantastic. The salad had great ingredients and not over run with dressing. Soup was right amount of spice (pepper). We had to ask for bread but I have to say even though the meal was superb the bread was a killer. I got an an endorphin rush biting into it. It’s like a warm lightly sugared challah. I bought more bread to take out. The lobster roll was all lobster — no fillers a half pound of it! Fish and chips fresh, lightly battered and a nice thick piece of fish. Amazing side Coke slaw was fresh and not gooey with mayo. Service was very good. Not rushing to get you out.
I may have to special order this bread back to NY.
And by the way the pineapple Cosmo was amazing and strong. Key lime pie was on the house for my moms birthday and a bread thrown in. A total pleasure!

The food was expensive and nothing special for the price. The margaritas we ordered were actually bad, seemed off in taste and proportions. The location is obviously lovely, and if you can get an outside table it might be worth it. Otherwise I would not bother going back.

This is a great place to hang out on the beach and eat a great meal. The view is worth 5 stars alone but the service was bad.
The fish and chips are a must! Bigger than the plate. Don’t let the $ 20 price fool you, it is well more than $ 20 food.

This is one of those places you go for the location. It is right on the beach. We went for Lunch.
The food is what you would expect from an average to slightly above average seafood place. The key here is the breakfast specials they offer on the weekends.
I had fish tacos. They were tasty but dry and the rice was from a mix /​box. My girlfriend had the breakfast burrito. That was good.
The Lobster poppers on the lobster special were ok. Good try but not amazing.
Service was pleasant and everyone was attentive.
$ 5 coupon on Unilocal for a rum drink (bacardi). The bartender didn’t apply it properly (She gave us $ 5 off instead).
For the area I would come again.

Can’t wait to go back! Very relaxing atmosphere. Went with our two young children, mother, and her friend for an early dinner (4pm). We all had great meals… Served quickly and the food was hot and absolutely delicious– Kudos to the kitchen. Kids entrees were enough for an adult and were quality ingredients– no Kraft here! Serving sizes were generous with the regular entrees, as well as the starters. Hostess put us at a table right in front of the door that goes from the lower dining area to the deck on a day when it’s 60 degrees with 30mph winds… Not a big deal to move though, so we did and they accomodated us without a problem. Will definitely be back very soon. Only suggestion for JB’s would be that the hostess should ask for a seating preference when the dining room is only half full.

Lovely lunch by the sea. Fresh food. Very nice staff. Peaceful yummy perfect!!! Perfectly blackened Mahi with lime sauce and heirloom tomato lettuce and onions on a perfectly multigrain bun. amazing seasoned fries to give it the perfect side.

Great place for a get together. The food is delicious and the drinks were pretty good. Service was pretty good as well. We had a large party but they handled ups pretty well. They were very accommodating in getting us al seated in the same area.

Good happy hour deals, live music, good food, and a heavy hand while pouring drinks. It’s a good time!

Loved this place! Great views of the Ocean, the ambiance was awesome. With the views of the beach, people watching and the Pier in the background was simply peaceful.
I have mixed reviews about our service. When we first arrived our server was friendly but had horrible body odor. Not very appealing. We ended up staying much longer then anticipated and asked to move tables– closer to the boardwalk. We were seated at the new table and within minutes our new server was extremely rude and told us we had to move tables if we were not ordering food. Keep in mind we just spent $ 150 on food and drinks. Long story– we moved tables yet again and the manager (forget her name) was very accommodating and even comped us a round of drinks for the inconvenience and a horrible customer service from the second waitress. Our third server was really unfriendly, not rude but just was not engaged with our table. We spent another $ 150 before leaving.
I would definitely go bank to this restaurant. The only reason I would not give this restaurant a five star is because the servers really made the experience a bit frustrating. The food and drinks were really good!

Checked out Happy Hour where drinks are half price and appetizers are $ 5. It’s really the best place on Deerfield Beach to have a drink some food and watch all the beautiful beach bodies make their way along the beach. It’s a bit touristy so some times you’ll run into some rude out of towners but for the most part it’s a fun atmosphere so people are friendly. From what i’ve seen, it’s a good place to find some attractive middle-​aged women looking for good time, if you know what i mean.lol.Come back at night on the weekends and you can listen to some music too!

I’ve been to JBs several times but more so for happy hour so when my new company decided to have their holiday lunch there, I was excited to actually eat!
Location location location! The views are amazing and it just has wonderful ambiance. The restaurant was decorated beautifully for the holidays too!
Now for food– we had fried cheese balls and lobster flatbread to start. Both were good but I only got a little nibble of both since there were 8 other people.
I ordered the lobster and shrimp wrap. It was pretty good but I must say it was mostly shrimp. In fact I had a hard time locating any lobster. However, it was filled and served with delicious fries. Everyone else enjoyed their lunch. It’s definitely a great spot on Deerfield Beach and decent prices too.

Came here to eat on a trip to Deerfield. It was packed, but so was everything else. My boyfriend and I decided to just sit at the bar.
We started with the smoked salmon dip which was really good. It came with bruschetta like bread for dipping, which I liked better than the typical crackers most restaurants give you with fish dip.
I had the South African Lobster Tail which was really good. It came with brown rice pilaf, which I didn’t enjoy and asparagus, which I subbed out for potato wedges. I thought the lobster was good, but nothing spectacular.
My boyfriend got the fish and chips which also came with coleslaw. Biggest fish ever! It was like a giant fried whole piece of fish. It was flaky and juicy and really good.
Overall, there was nothing stand out about this place. I felt like it was overpriced.

Good food and food service. We had a various of dishes and all were good. A little heavy on the price, but its in a nice location. Staff was very nice. We came on Christmas Eve. We recommend.

I’ve been to JB’s a few times now and I wish I could talk about the myriad of different seafood that I had, but I cannot. I was treated to this place by family who said «I’m taking you to the best fish and chips dinner you will have.» … so, I had to order the fish a chips of course (reluctantly.) But, as it turns out, family wasn’t wrong. It was delicious! So, since then I’ve been here 2 more times and my wife and I always get the fish and chips. For $ 20 you cannot beat the well seasoned, thick and plump, huge portion you get. For an appetizer we ordered Mussels a couple years ago but unfortunately it must have been a special because they weren’t on the menu a few weeks ago. We also ordered some Oysters and well, they were oysters so they were good.
If you have a taste for fish and chips, give this place a try. It probably deserves 5 stars just for that. Service was a little slow with drinks and they switched waitresses on us 3 times for some reason so maybe that had something to do with it, but it was still strange.
If I lived in the area I would explore the menu more, but when you know something is good, you get what you know is good.

I was sold on the view but putting a well placed meal and beverage combine my visual indulgence and palette. The service was wonderful and the waiter Rome was being shadowed by a new employee which no doubt is on good hands with his training. My spouse and I truly had a great experience. Thank you

Oh my goodness, I can’t comment on the entire menu because I only had a salad and an appetizer that Jesus must have made himself. First of all, it’s 3pm on a beautiful Saturday and I didn’t have to wait more than 15 minutes for a table outside. The décor inside and out is really nice. The staff were very friendly and attentive.
But about this appetizer, the Dynamite Scallops? Do yourself a favor and say yes.

Had a great happy hour here Thursday last week. Awesome little happy hour menu. Had the burger and scallops and they were delicious! Scallops were super tender and were in a delicious sauce.
Great little vibe in the inside bar and prices were pretty decent. Happy Hour was only till 7pm.
