Real Old Fashioned Chinese Restaurant Just felt like I stepped into a time machine back to 1970s. The décor, the carpet has gotta be older than I am. This was my first time here. The bar area was packed when I came in around 8:30 on a Monday night. The maitai and scorpion bowls were great. Appetizers were pretty good as well. I like the old school menu, where you can mix and match items to make appetizer plates. Tip: Menu lets you order half plates, which is like Chinese tapas. The old menu was ahead of its time. Definitely coming back for more. Thanks

The food is the old fashion Chinese with the taste I remember And always enjoyed. Ask for the bone in ribs THIN unless you like the big ones. We have been here many times over the past 30 years. Food is great. The rest. and bar area have been the same in 30 years also… can use an overhaul.

Worst egg roll I have ever had. Not at all like the ones I’m used to getting in Connecticut. I wasn’t sure if it was just a different style egg roll or perhaps old and not fresh. Conversely, the Peking raviolis were very good. Great place to go in for a drink and play a few games of Keno at the bar which is what I did. Old school décor and no windows in the bar– very unique.

If you’re looking for really good Americanized Chinese food, this is the place for you. Look past the Keno and 70/80’s vibe, the food and drink are worth it. Huge variety of food with good lunch/dinner combos, and the food comes out fast and piping hot! They also give really good portions, but that’s also why I only gave 4 out of 5 stars. There’s always plenty of food to take home, but the waiters never give you all the food you left on your plate. It has become a running joke with my wife now…“I wonder how much of this will actually make it into the take home box?” Next time I go, I’m going to take a picture of what’s left on my plate, and then unbox it when I get home and take another pic and post them here. C’mon guys, give me my leftovers.

Just felt like I stepped into a time machine back to 1970s, early 1989s. The décor, the carpet gotta be older than I am. This was my first time here since living in the area since 1982. The bar area was packed when I came in around 8:30 on a Wednesday night. The maitai and scorpion bowls were yummy. Appetizers were pretty good as well. Definitely coming back for more.

I have never tasted any Chinese worst than this. The quality is awful. One of us got really sick.

Took the family to dinner had a great time, Enjoyed the food. It all tasted fresh with a pleasant array of spices. Everything was great. Our waitress was very attentive knowledgeable and friendly but not over bearing. We’ll be going back and brining friends.

Tahiti Chinese Food Dedham, MA it’s been there for years and never changed, the carpet must be filthy, the mural has to go, the whole place to me is just horrible and never do any upgrades! Never seen the inside of the kitchen or how the food is prepared but I can just imagine/Finally decided never to step into that filthy place again, ever!

Hadn’t been there is what must’ve been 20 years and had a hankering to take my boys for Polynesian.(Keep in mind that, for me, South Pacific is the benchmark against which all others are judged. Alas… it is gone.) In a word, Tahiti was… disappointing. The food was just so-so. Ordered the Pu-Pu Platter. First, no fire in the center! And no fried shrimp. And we got this in no time flat, which indicates that all components are pre-made and warmed. Did have boneless ribs instead of bone-in, though. It was all just so-so. Chix fried rice… again…just so-so. Hung Sue Gai… meh! The service was lackluster with waiter looking like he’d been there from time immemorial(not that that is a bad thing; he just was not good.) We were very polite and I could tell he was trying to be attentive. However, it appeared that he only had two tables and when I needed another plate after he brought out several of our dishes; after 10 minutes of no sign of him, I had to go to the front desk and ask for a plate. I really wanted to find Polynesian from a bygone era. Unfortunately… at Tahiti the era is long gone. Bye.

My go to place for Chinese take-out as good as Kowloon. It’s always tasty and ready on time. I’ve only eaten inside a couple times nice Chinese Rest. atmosphere. The bar area is filled with locals and lottery addicts, but if you like that crew it looks like fun. The drinks are great !!! MAITAI ! If you are in dedham and get that Chinese food craving(and we all do – admit it) you can’t lose with TAHITI.

A fun/interesting place to people watch. Be prepared to see a fight. Never a dull moment. Good drinks, fun staff, decent food. Wouldn’t get anything too fancy to eat though. They are good with the fryolater, not sure if i trust them with anything else. But its always a good time at tahiti

Our family loves this place. It is one of the last old-fashioned Chinese restaurants in this area. If you grew up going to local American/Chinese restaurants this is a great place to go. Their most popular meals are already made on the day so the food does come out rather quickly. That said It is great fried American Chinese food. The cocktails are made with cheap booze and strong. It is a dedham institution that has been around since the 70s. Enjoy it, it’s fast, it’s fried and it’s local.

My wife bought here 8 years ago, it has been amazing each time we come! Tom and Kenny are the best servers and cater to every need you have. The food is great and hot every time we come in, and we come in about 2 – 3 times a month!

I have been going to this place since the seventies. I now take my kids here. Bottom line the food is good and hot. The owner Fay is a great guy and still greets his guest after 47 years in the business. Prices are reasonable and the drinks are awesome. Yes they are stuck in the seventies, but that’s when the food and drinks here were good and that hasn’t changed. Definitely worth the trip. It’s like a Chinese version of Cheers!

I love this place, wether it is Drinks in the lounge with friends or dinner with the family in the dinning room. It is very nostalgic. Prices are very reasonable. A great drink menu. The place has not changed in 20 years and I am ok with that

I go here mostly for the different drinks and the appetizers. The Peking ravioli and fried calamari are my favorite. The main courses aren’t good. I’ve tried some of the main courses from other people that I’ve gone with and they are flavorless and kind of greasy. It’s always pretty packed when I go there. It’s a pretty good place to get cheap drinks and it’s open until 1am I believe.

They only get two starts because the drinks and crab rangoons were good. I came here last night at like 9:30 with a big group and we asked from the start if we could split the bill up into smaller groups and the miserable geriatric waiter refused, even when half our party joined us much later he wouldn’t put them on a separate bill because«it was easier that way». We ordered our first round of drinks as soon as we got there and then he vanished so we couldn’t get another round or order food. Then at 10:45 when people were finally given the chance to order another round of drinks he decided it was our last call to order because that was«house policy». What? You just made up a fake policy. Then he brought fortune cookies out before he brought our bill or we even said if we were done ordering food to basically get us out the door even though NOBODYELSEWASTHERE. Oooh but he had no problem adding a 20 percent tip on a $ 300 meal that WEDIDNTEVENGETTOENJOYBECAUSEWEWERENTTHEREFORLONGENOUGHTOBREATHE. Never again. Team New Garden for life.

I really think this place deserve only 3 stars for great drink and appetizers. The main course was so bad that I even didn’t take left overs home. The place is very nice and clean. Have two areas one with cute chairs that look like bar and second part look more like restouran to with standard seats. We try first area where the cute mini sofa chairs were and surprising there were so low in comparison to table that we decide to move to restaurant side. The appetizer part was great: really enjoy fried spicy calamari. They were lightly fried which is a bit minus for me but I love kick of spicy at the end. That what made it so delicious. We also order ravioli and they were very good. The drink were cheap $ 6 average but I couldn’t complain about anything. Drink were perfect. I got Brown Lady and Chi-chi and there both were amazing and yammi. If u coconut lover get it. God main course Tahiti wedding was very bad. It taste like nothing I didn’t taste any flavor even tho whole dish was soaked in sauce. Very disappointed. I would come back to this place for great drinks and good appetizer but main menu was a fail for me.

Do yourself a favor and STAYAWAY. I’m in town on business and was told this place had amazing food. Literally the first time I have sent a dish back in years. The second dish sucked just as bad. The food served here is bland, tasteless, and could have just as easily come out of the frozen food section. In additional to the horrible food was a geriatric bartender that seemed like he wanted to be doing anything other than his job. If you want to sit in 70s era disco lounge, eat horrible food, watch old townies play keno, and receive horrific service from a WWII vet that fought for the axis powers… this is the place for you! Seem to have decent cocktails.

My friends & I would come here pretty often either as a start to our night or the end of it. The food is average if you start your night there or pretty much the best thing you’ve ever eaten if you are hitting it before heading home. The drinks are always strong though which a plus! But the bar section is kinda depressing with the older guys playing keno all night so its better to sit in the regular section.
