Riverside Pizza and Subs

This place was 2 minutes away from my house in Dedham, food is good, I love the people in this place, they are so sweet. I usually buy chicken wings and fries for lunch and it tastes delicious. I like the pizza and the guy who made it too. I’ve been there for 5 times in 4 months and I enjoy eating there food!!!

Riverside is delicious. Great service and great food. Also you don’t wait a super long time for your order.

Literally, the angriest, most deranged, delivery person I have ever encountered in my life. I tip well, all the time to most people. I do not take kindly to a begging, old, delivery guy holding his hand out and when I fail to tip him fast enough, tell me to hurry up. I have witnessed him tell people that the tip was not enough. Screw this place. Try calling right now. They are the most rude people on the planet. Much better options than this dumb

Good sub shop and pizza. Very fast on delivery never exceeds 20 min. Been ordering from there for 3 years and never had an order made wrong unlike other places I used to go to.

First of all, come on. He’s mean. Omg-I’m fine with a bit snippy you know, we are all busy but this dude is mean.
And– he stores your credit card in his computer. That is fine if you trust him and you get take out every week from this place. But he’s so mean, that I know he is planning his retaliation on my card right now.
Step one. Tae kwon do lessons to release your anger in a productive way.
Step two. Feel guilty. You are releasing a lot of negativity into the world I can see that you have been mean to many customers before me. Feel guilty.
Step three. Atone do better. Mend your ways. Think about it.

Overall, Riverside is pretty good and they are usually very fast with delivery which warrants 3 stars in my book.

I’ve been ordering food from this place for years now, and I can tell that it makes the best food around. I’ve tried other stores but they are nothing compared to this place. I call almost everyday or once in two days, either for delivery or I go to eat over there. I’ve suggested it to my friends and almost all of them are pleased with the service. I would definitely recommend this place.

It’s an ok place. The food is fine and the prices are fair. Parking is tough. My biggest complaint is the atmosphere and friendliness are NON-​existent. The guy who answers the phone makes me feel like I pissed in his corn flakes everytime. When you go in and stand there with no A/​C and no volume on the t.v. you’re likely to get ignored for a little bit. That being said I still eat there a lot and will continue to do so, I just wish I didn’t feel like I’m such a bother to them.

Worst experience I’ve ever had at pizza shop.
I ordered a buffalo chicken calzone with a side of blue cheese and marinara sauce and spicy fries for delivery and was told it would take around 30 minutes. The food arrived an hour and 10 minutes later, luke warm at best. The fries were extremely soggy and tasteless and the calzone came with 2 sides of blue cheese instead of the marinara.
The cashier on the telephone was also unfriendly and seemed uninterested in my plight for the perfect lunch.
Bottomline they done fucked up and lost a customer for life.

A friend of mine just stopped there for a pizza on her way home and was absolutely disgusted at how rude the owner was when she complained about a charge on her bill. She left without her food and when she called her credit card company they had already charged her even when she canceled her order at the store.

I’m in construction and I work from New Hampshire to Connecticut. This place has the best gyros I’ve ever had and I have them whenever they’re on the menu. Get extra sauce you won’t be disappointed.

Riverside is located on the West Roxbury/​Dedham border and considering the number of mediocre pizza places within a 5 mile radius, it’s hard to find anything that stands out but this establishment does the job for me.
Their pizza is very good. I LOVE their Meat Lover’s pizza but I’ve gotten a few different options and have been at least satisfied with all. Their subs are also quite good, esp their Steak and Cheese and their Chicken cutlet which are my two favorites. They also have a great little deal for a grilled cheese and fries for $ 3.75. I love ordering that, even if it’s supposed to be for kids (shh). Their fries are pretty good, and I just love their mozz. sticks and garlic bread (with cheese!) as well. I haven’t been thrilled with their chicken wings or their pasta dinners but they’re not awful by any means, just wasn’t my favorite.
Riverside really stands out in the service department. I order delivery from them routinely (probably 2 – 4 times a month) and I think I’ve waited more than 30 minutes maybe twice out of the 30 – 50 or so times I’ve ordered from them over the last two years. Their prices are fair (and to the person who complains about the web convenience fee: $ 1.20 is nothing, Dominos charges $ 3.00 for a delivery fee and I guarantee you that they will take longer and the food won’t be as fresh). Riverside doesn’t have a delivery fee. Their Riverside Rewards is also a nice program but you have to order fairly often for it to be useful and I think they’ve scaled down the rewards a bit recently. But overall, I still can’t say enough about it. Truly great.

pizza is so bad, I couldn’t tell the difference between theirs and the $ 5 pizza from 7 11. crust is soft and soggy and there is no elasticity in the dough. Just a waste of money and caloric intake.

First of all, the pizza is amazing. I don’t know how they do it. We usually get the mushroom and onion, and the mushrooms are not canned but fresh, thick, and generously applied. I just got the vegetarian – spinach, onion, mushroom, broccoli, olives, tomato slices – it must have been an inch and a half over the crust.
Second of all, they have these pasta dinners like eggplant parmesan over choice of pasta with garlic bread and chicken with brocolli with white or red sauce, the same way (choice of pasta and two pieces of garlic bread!) They then shred cheese over them and broil them. It’s fantastic.
My son will only eat their fries. They’re thick and oversized and cooked to crispy outside-​tender inside perfection with no taste of grease.
My friends and family now visit more often so we can get their food. It’s restaurant food at deli prices. I only wish they sold chocolate milk.
You can order over the web and orders accrue loyalty points. The points are quite generous – I ordered three small pizzas and got a coupon for a free small cheese on my next order. The delivery is very fast and the guys are friendly but not creepy-​friendly. Their phone number is programmed into my home AND cell phone for those on-​the-​way-​home orders. I would eat here every day if I could.

Went here today with a group of kids after kayaking nearby at Charles River Canoe & Kayak. The staff was super-​friendly, the pizza was delicious (especially the veggie delight pizza– wow, they really pack on a vegetable garden!), and there was ample seating (at least 6 small booths inside). Very reasonable prices. If the weather were better we would’ve ordered pizza to go and eaten it in the park across the street. Thumbs up.

Pizza is good, but customer service is appalling! I am boycotting because the management doesn’t seem to realize they are providing a service, one that is NOT unique. Treat others the way you would like to be treated…

So Riverside used to be my go to for food and everything, but it’s under new management and this is my experience thus far…
I used to always get the italian, but now it tastes off and not as good.
I got a buffalo chicken sub the other day and it tasted old… speaking of old, I ate a bag of chips while waiting for my sub, and they expired 8.6.2010. This was yesterday, 8÷14÷10. Why did I get the chips?
Because on a Saturday, at 3 PM, they didn’t have slices, and weren’t even making a pizza for slices.
Horrible.
Bring back the old owners!!!

Riverside is right on my way home from work, so I pick up food here all the time. And, frankly, it’s hard not to. I can’t think of any meal I’ve ever had there which I did not like, and their prices are extraordinary.
Pizza: If you like Greek-​style pizza, you’ll really enjoy Riverside’s pizza. The crust is thin and crunchy, the sauce is delicious (I am guessing that they make it on-​premises, it’s THAT good), and the cheese is ooey and gooey and quite greasy. If you want something sinfully awesome, get a pizza with extra cheese and Feta. You’ll never stop coming back!
Subs: Usually, a place will either do a small number of subs and do them very well, or do a large number of subs and do them poorly. Well, Riverside does a large number of subs and does them amazingly well! I strongly recommend the Turkey Cobbler (basically a complete turkey dinner in a sub roll) and the fresh haddock sub (they’re «just a sub shop» but they get fresh haddock every day).
Salads: Their Greek salad is not only delicious, but… HUGE. There’s no other word for it. For the price, it’s almost too big. Keep this in mind when ordering. You’ll almost certainly be able to share it!
Sides: Boneless Buffalo wings are done in a way I’ve never really encountered anywhere else. It’s hard to explain… they’re pounded thin, almost like cutlets, and are so good that you’ll inhale an entire order in seconds. The Jalapeño poppers are stuffed with cheddar cheese (not cream cheese like in many places) and are by far my favorite fast food side dish anywhere.
Overall, I am very lucky to have this place so close to my home. It is exactly halfway between my house and my local bus stop.

Riverside’s pizza is my favorite in all of the greater Boston area. I grew up eating Greek style pizza, so that’s what I like, and Riverside’s is exceptional. It’s got a delicious golden crust, it’s nice and cheesy, and it has tasty sauce (and not too much of it).
We also order subs from Riverside when we’re not in the mood for pizza, and those are good too. So are their salads.
I’m not terribly crazy about their buffalo wings (too bready) but I won’t hold that against them. The plain chicken fingers/​tenders are good.
We always order for delivery (we live on the Chestnut Hill/​West Roxbury line) and it’s prompt, so the food’s still hot. Likeable delivery people, too.

I order from this deli pretty often with my co-​workers (we’re in Needham) mainly because of how easy the delivery and take-​out system is.
The ordering system they have online is pretty easy to use and seems to have all the right options available for both paying and adding toppings to and the delivery drivers have been incredibly reliable and responsive, usually arriving within 25 – 30 minutes of the order whether I called or used the online ordering page.
On to the food part! The menu is as complete as you can get for a deli/​pizza/​sub shop with lots of pasta. pizza, calzone, sub, wrap, and side order options.
I am partial to the italian subs in general, I order them at just about every deli/​sub shop I’ve been to and while theirs isn’t the absolute best I’ve had, it is pretty darn close.
My other usual orders are the ziti with meatballs which is consistently good and hot when it gets to me, and the Chicken Caesar wrap which has generous portions of good grilled chicken in it.
The only issue I have ever had with the food at this place is when I ordered a regular Caesar salad (no chicken) It was meager looking, like somebody just tossed a handful of especially small pieces of lettuce in the Styrofoam container and sent it out the door.
I would recommend Riverside mainly as an order-​out for lunch while @ work.
