Excellent steakhouse. Every time I’ve eaten here I have been pleasantly surprised by the service and the quality of food. The singing waitresses offer an interesting and fun touch to the meal. Their steaks have always been perfectly prepared. I haven’t had it, but I know if you call early you might be lucky enough to be able to reserve a special entrée called a steak pot pie that by all reports is to die for. They make a limited number per day and once they are gone they are gone. Even if you miss this elusive entrée, I assure you you will enjoy whatever you order from Sweetie Pies steakhouse.

Best Chicken Fried Steak I have ever had. The rolls are buttery and delicious. Our waitress(and those at other tables) gave excellent service. We drove 30 miles to eat here. Well worth it.

A once great restaurant, now being pulled down by poor service issues. We were seated rapidly but no waitress came. The hostess came twice and attempted to assist us but even though she successfully located our waitress each time she checked, it still took some time before the waitress actually showed up. After we placed our order we waited. And waited. And waited. More people came and many successfully did get served but not us. We presume our order was never placed because how difficult can one salad and one burger be? Finally walked out after 45 minutes.

Fantastic hospitality and the food was amazing. Best catfish I’ve had, the ribeye pot pie is delicious and big enough for three people, and the burgers are probably ¾ lb. When you ask for your meat rare, they do it right — the center is still cool.

When we sat down they brought out fresh bread and butter. So tasty. The service was great and the food was brought out quickly. I had a chicken salad and my husband had the ribeye; both were delicious.

You can get the same quality steak at Waffle House. Thin and fatty is what me AND my friend had. If you are going to be a «Ribeye steak house» then serve something that will make me want to come back!

The billboard lured us in and the quaint old town square is an interesting backdrop with an unusually gothic old courthouse. The décor inside is a fun and eclectic hodgepodge. Our meal started with a delicious homemade roll, followed by a salad with a tangy warm bacon house dressing. I had the 8 oz thick cut ribeye, my husband chose the 9oz, but he wished he had gotten the thick cut because his was very tasty and tender, but thin. We both enjoyed our steaks and they were cooked perfectly to order. Hubby had the green beans– they’re not the overlooked bland variety, they were bright green with a little crunch and lots of flavor! Too bad we’re on a road trip, we would come back again and again!

I love the atmosphere here. The steaks are delicious and I love the baked potatoes now that they stopped cooking them with that resin stuff. Staff is helpful and kind. It’s a little pricey though, so we only eat here for special occasions.

A really fun place with great food! I spent a week in Decatur and ate here twice. I had very good experiences both visits. Steak, steak, steak! Other menu items are tempting but the steak is where it’s at. The filet was perfect and everyone in my group that got the rib eye enjoyed it. Warm bacon vinaigrette, don’t underestimate the power of this salad dressing, it is amazing! Get a side salad just so you can try this dressing. The staff are great sports and smiled through obnoxious requests and comments from our large group. Many of them also sing, our server covered a Nora Jones track and had a great voice. Food is outstanding, great environment and very good service, you HAVE to try Sweetie Pie’s if you’re in Decatur!

So we finally got around to checking out Sweetie Pie’s last weekend. We got there right when they were opening on Saturday morning. This was completely NOT what I was thinking it was going to be! In a good way! This is a beautiful restaurant! Very nicely decorated; it definitely screamed Texas steakhouse to me… but comfortable. I would say that this is one of the nicer restaurants Decatur has to offer. Plus the rolls… You walk in and the aroma of freshly baked yeast rolls hypnotizes you and all of your worries go away, lol. I ordered the filet with a salad and macaroni and cheese. Very good! Prices were not too bad for the experience/environment/food. The only thing that is keeping me from a five star rating is that we sat ignored for WAY too long after being seated. Like ten minutes with not even a glance. I couldn’t even attempt to get anyone’s attention because no one even glanced in our direction. It was like we were wearing cloaks of invisibility(HP reference, anyone?). Honestly if it hadn’t been for the scent and hope of those yeast rolls we would have walked out. Who saved us? We jokingly welcome a couple who was seated next to us to the service black hole of the restaurant and the lady informed their/our waiter that we needed service. I’m sure it was just one of those things where everyone thought someone else had gotten us. But to not even glance at us? Anyone? Pretty sad. Overall we would definitely go back, and we would definitely recommend them!

Sorry, but this to me was average for a steak place. Not sure what all the hype was about but not a must visit for me…

Sweetie Pies is 10 star quality! From the second we walked in we could tell this place was going to be awesome. We were seated right away and told that our server would be right with us because she was SINGING!(Amazing voice btw). The ribeye was cooked to perfection, and don’t forget about the baked potato and Mac and cheese… Homemade butter!!! Can’t get better than this… Just passing through from Houston but the food here alone would make the drive to Decatur worth it just for dinner!

This beacon of state highway 287 culinary excellence is worth getting off for in Decatur, TX. This is perfectly situated on the corner of this historic town square. Most importantly, it’s about the food and for this Travelling Wilbury; compliments don’t come easy but this was the best Ribeye I have ever eaten. No exaggeration — the best Ribeye ever. Great stop for the family including hungry growing boys.

I came here for dinner one week night with some friends while staying nearby. The restaurant is located in a corner building within the downtown square, across from the beautiful courthouse. I must say that the dinner menu is VERY limited, so don’t expect too much. There are no appetizers and the only options are several steaks, several salads, one fish dish, and chicken. With that said, everything was delicious! I ended up ordering the breaded lemon sole that came with two sides. I chose a side salad with a hot bacon vinaigrette and a baked potato. My friends got either steak or the steak salad. All meals come with dinner rolls. The food came out quickly, and like I said, was delicious. The fish was a very large filet and was cooked perfectly. The potato was quite large, and although our server told me it would be an extra dollar for cheese, she didn’t end up charging me for it. Prices were average, about what you would expect at a steakhouse. I was pleased and would eat here again. The lunch menu looked more extensive and offered sandwiches in addition to the steaks and fish.

While passing thru town on our way home to Dallas, and after reading recent great reviews on Sweetie Pie’s, my husband and I took a chance and stopped in. The atmosphere is a cozy small space with hearty glows of earth tones, Adobe color exposed walls and western memorabilia. The rolls were fluffy and served with a generous amount of garlic butter on the side. I ordered the fried catfish(based on the latest reviews) and my husband ordered the ribeye steak medium. His steak and my catfish were supremely delicious!!! The seasoning rivaled most well known Dallas steakhouses. It took away the«grit» taste catfish normally has. The sautéed mushrooms and fresh cut green beans had great flavor also. Highly recommend it!

Absolutely love this hometown restaurant with ambience and deliciously cooked southern food. This is just how my mom and nanny used to cook. The meats are tender and cooked to order, the squash casserole was delectable, and the rolls are in a class of their own. Do not leave without eating the rolls or even taking some home for later. Every bite was perfect and the service and friendliness of the staff made Sweetie Pie’s that much more inviting. The bathrooms are right in the middle of the restaurant due to space, but even that is considered with the arrangement of different«entertainment» in the restroom as to overpower any other sounds. My husband and I cannot tell enough people about this hidden gem in the country. Our hats are off to you for creating a place that we will love to visit for years to come!

Sweetie Pie’s is a great place to stop in when passing through town. When you look at the menu it’s very apparent that this place serves down home Southern meals. Of which it does well. When I went in with my wife we were greeted and sat immediately. The restaurant was moderately busy but our waitress was right there with anything we needed. I ordered the fried catfish and my wife ordered the chicken fingers. The catfish was amazing for fried catfish and so were the chicken fingers. The breading on the chicken wasn’t the typical breading for fried chicken and so it had more of an old home recipe. Speaking of which, the rolls were pretty good too and made with an old recipe if I had to guess. It was overall a great dining experience, especially since we were looking for something fast but still a sit down experience. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is because it doesn’t wholly stand out. The menu is exactly what I’ll find at a dozen other Southern restaurants in the area. I was a big fan of the quality of the food, but there wasn’t anything I saw that caused Sweetie Pie’s to stand out. That being said, go try it. It’s not regrettable at all.

Sweetie Pie’s is located on the Square in Decatur. The owner of Babes owns this place. I guess it’s like a version of Babes, but with Steak! The ribeye was excellent and full of flavor. The rosin baked potato is a little weird, but good. Now, the Red Velvet Cake. It’s awesome and I would drive all the way to Decatur just for this cake. So worth it. It’s homemade and made with butter cream instead of cream cheese, I believe. Loved it. I hope to be back soon!
