Very good homemade donuts. We had the vanilla bean yeast donut which was really exceptional. There are a lot of different flavors of yeast and cake donuts. The raspberry donut was wonderful. Worth a trip!

It’s pretty good. Fancy pants doughnuts at fancy pants prices. Nothing mind blowing, but they’re beautifully presented in that«were obviously artisans» kinda way. If this place made a video to promote themselves, it would definitely be hosted on vimeo, if you feel me… These are hipster doughnuts that focus more on unique flavors and organic ingredients than pushing a super pro bacon agenda on you. Which is a good thing. They have vegan doughnuts, and I think that’s one of their big pulls. They’re terrible, but I’m sure they’re amazing to a vegan. Bottom line: they have a limited variety, and the stuff they have isn’t all that great. Their fritter is meh. Their glazed is meh. The one exception is their coconut frosted doughnut. Get that. Get two of them. That doughnut alone is the reason I’ve been back a few times. I’ll be back for it again, too. Or if you’re a vegan. Go here and be happy as hell for awhile. Otherwise, I’m still on the hunt for doughnuts as good as donut kingdom in Tallahassee Florida.

Revolution has a little something for everyone. I come in approximately once a week for a donut and a bag of coffee that they grind fresh for you. I don’t really want to invest in a coffee grinder and they sell a couple locallyish roasted brands. They swap a couple different donuts out every few weeks and whatever those limited ones are are generally great– recently it has been stuffed nutella, Mississippi mud pie(chocolate everywhere), and banana custard. The maple bourbon cro-nut(yeah, it’s a deep fried croissant shaped like a donut) is my favorite. PARKING– sweet allah, don’t park in front of revolution. I don’t know how more people don’t die pulling out. There’s a street just east of the building they’re in with more parking spots. I highly recommend not going on weekend mornings as usually the line is well beyond out the door. If you get stuck behind a peewee sports team your donut and and coffee just turned into a 30 plus minute wait.

Ok, but seriously can’t say enough good things about Revolution. They were out of the raspberry sprinkle when I came in today but that’s a GOOD thing, because I had my war face on and was ready to eat at least 5 of them… so it’s kinda like they were looking out for me, if you think about it. Everyone here is so nice. How could they not be? They’re surrounded by the bestest donuts!

as a donut expert, i was not impressed with these donuts. I found them to be flimsy and greasy. It sat like a rock in my tummy. Maybe it was a bad batch that day? I wouldn’t be back for this

Last weekend a friend and I came after talking about it for a while. Around 11 ish in the morning the line was almost out of the door but it moved quickly. I was looking forward to trying their carrot cake donut but I guess it wasn’t on the menu for the day so I’ll have to go back, be aware that they might not have the specialities some days. the cinnamon sugar donut was my safe choice and was extremely delicious! my out the box choice was the orange pistachio which was actually AMAZING

I write this review as I sit in the establishment. When I arrived I was the only patron however that quickly changed. There is plenty of seating and I personally appreciated the seating available for solo patrons. The place is clean and has a pretty cool laid back vibe. I ordered a large latte w/caramel shot and the highly recommended salted caramel donut. The latte was phenomenal! My salted caramel was just ok. To be fair I came at around 4:30pm and I’m sure the donuts were probably fresher earlier in the day. Long story short it wasn’t terrible but not great either. The young lady that took my order and made my latte was super friendly and helpful which I really appreciate as a first time customer. All and all great coffee ok donuts. I will definitely return to give their yeast style donuts a whirl and of course to grab another coffee!

I have been here a few times. My first impression was 5 stars. But after goign here last time i had to take a star off. Their baked donuts are good but are kinda on a dry side. Their coffee is good. Orange pistachio donut is too sweet. Parking is not really an issue but pulling out from that plaza there is treacherous. I would recommend going here off peak hours. Over all nice spot to fulfill your cravings. I would go again.

Two words: Salted Caramel! The salted caramel doughnut is soo good. I sampled about 12 different doughnuts from here for the first time. Of the 12, salted caramel and almond joy-nut(amazing filling) were my favorite. Though it was not one of my favorite, the lemon curd had an nice, refreshing filling. While good, the caramel bacon doughnut is a bit over hyped. The reason for the four-star rating is due to price and just not having more ‘favorites’ from the selection of 12 that we had gotten. Having been to many creative, amazing doughnut shops in Illinois, the salted caramel doughnut here definitely is one of my favorites of all-time. Great job, Revolution Doughnuts!

Where to even begin explaining the love I have for this place? First, they have interesting and playful flavors, but the doughnut always remains the star. I’ve frequented other renowned doughnut shops in other states where you sometimes tend to see more outrageous flavors/toppings placed atop a fairly ordinary doughnut specimen. That is never the case here – whether it’s a cake or yeast doughnut, the pastry itself is always king and worth every penny and calorie that comes with it. Of the year-round options, my family is partial to the cinnamon/sugar(yeast), salted caramel(cake), crunchy mister(savory), and buttermilk bar. Seasonal faves include gingerbread, pumpkin spice, and the peach slider. And our furry first-born loves the dog treats! Be sure to check out Revolution if you haven’t aleady!

Doughnuts. You guys probably already know, I can’t get enough of them. I had already checked out Sublime Doughnuts during my time in Atlanta, but, I’m not going to just stop at one shop. I was off to check out Revolution Doughnuts. Here, they’re hand making all their doughs, glazes and fillings from scratch, using real food ingredients like organic flour, local dairy, fresh fruit, natural flavor extracts, and 100% trans-fat free vegetable oil. So, there’s a lot of care involved. These guys carry a bunch of accolades for their doughnuts, so, I had to try a bunch. You know, research. Now, common for popular doughnut shops, they’re bound to run out of certain flavors throughout the day. After I wiped my tears and picked myself off the floor, I organized a pretty decent order. In no particular order, I first had the Vanilla Bean(yeast). The simplest of the bunch, it still packed some lovely flavor. The yeast dough is light with a bit of chew, and really nice. The glaze here was almost a super vanilla(I think it had a cape on), really packing in natural vanilla bean flavor, noting the tiny little bean specks. Next up was the Raspberry Sprinkle(yeast). Now, contrary to this one looking like a generic Homer Simpson doughnut, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this one, all due to the delicious, natural flavor of the raspberry. You get the sophistication of a real raspberry fruit glaze, with the fun and whimsy from the sprinkles. Perfect for the kid at heart. Then, I had the Orange Pistachio(yeast). I’m not a huge citrus dessert person, but it looked so pretty I had to try it. And, I’m really glad I did. There’s a zing from the orange citrus, balanced with the nuttiness of the pistachios, and the crunch mixed with the soft dough is just delightful. Next up was the Cinnamon Apple Fritter(yeast). Man, I love a fritter. Maybe because it’s just fun to say, but, then again, it’s also probably because they’re really delicious. Here, you get a light and delicate apple flavor, with a crisp outside and soft inside. No complaints here. After that I tried the True Blueberry(yeast). Again, same great yeast doughnut base, but I really enjoyed the real, natural flavor of the blueberry, which you can absolutely taste. Finally, and maybe one of my favorites, was the Shredded Coconut(baked cake). This was the only cake doughnut they had on tap at the time, so, I knew I had to scoop it up. The doughnut is a dense cake, and it’s super moist(awful word) and delicious. The coconut glaze is perfect, and the added texture of the shavings just kicks it up a notch.

Far be it from me to argue with 50 people lined up at 9AM on a Saturday morning… but who are we kidding, here goes. The glazes from which ALL of the flavor depends on in these doughnuts are good… a touch sweet and not quite flavorful enough… orange/pistachio and blueberry I’m talking about you… needs more tartness. The caramel bacon glaze is delish… probably the best flavor in the shop. That said, the actual doughnut(and I’m talking about the yeast here because I don’t do cake doughnuts) is totally flavorless, heavy and there is WAY too much of it. This is not an ideal doughnut in my opinion. I did love the cardamom rose chai… great flavor combination… really lovely.

Hearty, delicious donuts with vegan options. Traditional yeasty donuts are substantial, unlike some places where you feel like the donut may be made out of cotton candy so you can eat a dozen in one breath. Good service, good music, cool local merch

Revolution Doughnuts, home to the famous doughnuts that have been featured on the Food Network. You can rarely mess up a doughnut in my book, so I was excited to see what they were all about. Parking wasn’t very plentiful but there were plenty of spots when we got there around 2:30pm on a Sunday. The interior is very rustic and hipster and not uncomfortable. Seating was limited, but I felt like half the people coming in were buying doughnuts to go. There was no line when we first got there but I turned but head and all of a sudden the line was out the door. We ended up trying: Peach Slider Apple Cinnamon Fritter Toasted Almond Orange Pistachio Caramel Bacon We got there later in the afternoon, so the doughnuts were«buy two for one,» as they were closing up shop at 4 and they still had quite a few doughnuts to sell. I also ordered a Rose Cardamom Chai, which as pretty freaking amazing. We passed it around the table and took turns sipping it. It felt like a sip of exotic heaven. Even with skim milk, it felt super rich. My favorite doughnuts have got to be the peach slider and the toasted almond. The peach slider had super ripe and sweet peaches inside a soft doughnut. The toasted almond had crunchy toasted almonds atop a sweet almond cake doughnut. Perfection. The other doughnuts were unique, but weren’t my favorite. My friend loved the orange pistachio, although I wasn’t a huge fan of the yeast doughnut. They were all really good, but quoting my friend, «they weren’t revolutionary.» There were too many donuts to try all of them, and with all the Decatur trips I like to take, you know I’ll be back for more!

Another instance in which I am arguing inwardly whether food quality is worth the hassle and heartbreak(read on, you’ll understand) of making the trip. Before I delve into to anecdotes and tales of woe, here’s the bullet points: PROS: –freakin’ awesome donuts –parking lot out front –friendly, enjoyable atmosphere CONS: –the sell out FAST(like, make The Flash looks slow… fast) –there is ALWAYS a line –there is limited seating –They are $$ And so, once upon a time… my sole birthday wish was for a a maple bacon donut from Revolution. So we arrived at around 9 am(ish) and got in the already out the door line. Up on the board, they had the maple bacon and I could see a few in the case, but by the time we go up there, the cashier just shakes her head, «nope, pick something else.» «Um…» I stammered heartbroken, «Okay, the Cronut» «Sorry, just ran out of that, too.» «Okay… a Crunch Mister.» «Nope. I’ll take the sign down for that one in a minute.» «Well, those were my two backups and I didn’t think I’d need a third, so just get me something please.»(*on the verge of donut-need-driven tears*) She hands me a Boston Cream Pie Donut and charges me three dollars. Admittedly, the donut was good. Not really what I would’ve picked for myself(the cream was nice and vanilla bean-y, but too runny), but good. Anyway– my advice is don’t go with something in mind(other than the general«me want donuts»), or you may be disappointed.

I had been on a hunt for the best donuts inside the perimeter, and I think I may have just found them. This place is living up to there name, they are Revolutionizing the donut world in the city of Atlanta. At the recommendation of a Unilocaler I tremendously respect, we made for Revolution Donuts when they opened at 8am last Saturday. When we arrived there was already a line but it moves quickly and really was only 4 people big. Now, first and foremost, the donuts rock. they have a yeasty donut that is light and fluffy, and the toppings are awesome without making the mistake of being way to sweet! Also, I am not a vegan, however the vegan options allow for ease of sharing these miraculous creations with those who have the need for vegan. Now the donuts are amazingly, good and super super fresh. There are three options, 1 cake, 2, yeast, and 3 vegan! We chose the yeast dark chocolate, peach slider, bacon caramel, and glazed. Then it was on too drinks, they brew counter culture coffee, and then have three options for milk, vitamin d, 2 percent, and skim! We will return to the beverage thing in a minute, as its the only gripe I have with this place. The peach slider, is delightful, gives a nice Georgia summer fruit touch to a homemade donut with a light taste and its not too sweet! The caramel bacon yeast donut is once not to miss, salty-ness of the bacon, and the sweet caramel interact so well and make this one of the best donuts I have ever had in my entire life, and it has BACON on it! The dark chocolate glaze is another on a list of awesomeness, again great dark chocolate and the light fluffy donut. The traditional glazed creation was to die for, and honestly I think its one of those things where you can put a creative and tasty spin on something but also do the traditional well and this doesn’t miss either. On to the beverages, counter culture coffee is amazing and they brew it well without making it too hot to drink and even provide almond milk as a cream if you need or want it. I also mentioned the milk, awesome choice with donuts as is the counter culture coffee. Here is my one gripe, they charge a dollar for coffee refills. Now its on the honor system and we paid our dollars as we should but Proof, done by Cakes and Ale, is pouring the same coffee and has the same price point and they have free refills for dine in patrons. Its a small gripe but a gripe none the less. beyond that, belly up to the counter and enjoy a donut thats Revolutionizing an entire Metro Area!

Opening Statement: There’s not a donut here I wouldn’t marry! But, My FAVORITE donut at Revolution(Correction…of ALLTIME) is the Caramel Bacon. WOWSERS! This donut will make your head spin! It will make you believe in a God! It will make you change the way you look at the world! It’s mind blowingly awesome! Revolution is extremely accessible with tons of off street parking. It’s also next to an awesome beer store! Grab some beer and some donuts. Sounds like a perfect Saturday brunch to me! Only issue I’ve ever had was that on the weekends, be prepared to wait in a very long line. But, like a very wise person once said, «I don’t mind waiting in a line because it just means the merchandise is good.» Also great for all! They have a small wooden kitchen with a frying pan and stuffed donuts for the wee donut lovers. They also sell adorable donut earrings and along with other merchandise. And has a nice selection of different beverages. There are other donut spots in town that attempt at making better donuts, but let’s face it… they can’t :D

When you are willing to drive 30 minutes out of the way exclusively for a donut — its gotta be worth it and Rev Doughnuts has the donut game down to the«T». I LOVE the fact that so many of their donuts are vegan — as there aren’t any fried vegan delicacies in my neck of Atlanta. I love their toasted almond, pistachio and of course, chocolate. I missed the mothers day donuts that were covered in edible rose petals. They always have seasonal offerings so be on the lookout and go early as they tend to run out of many flavors as the day goes on. Rev donuts are always fresh and incredibly tasty. The best that I’ve ever had!

Awesome doughnut place! Got there in the afternoon, so flavors were limted, but it was just enough that I’m hooked. We had the raspberry sprinkles, vanilla bean, and the true blueberry. Raspberry sprinkles was my favorite out of the 3 and had that familiarity of the Simpson’s doughnut hehe. Gluten free, free of transfat, and organic flour, sign me up! Can’t wait to try other flavors! (Update) BF surprised me with a box full and the caramel cake donut is my favorite!

YOUMUSTTRY! I was badly craving donuts. I haven’t had a donut in over two months so when I was driving home from church, I knew what must happen. This place makes me so happy because their donuts are vegan. My husband and I bought 5 donuts for the two of us because we couldn’t NOT try them all. The raspberry sprinkle and apple cinnamon fritter were both amazingggg. So was the dark chocolate yeast donut. And the cinnamon sugar. I skipped Pilates to eat here and I do not regret it at all. They tasted so good and made me happy that being vegan doesn’t mean no more sweets. Please please please open up another location on Westside!!! I promise I shall spend lots of money.
