Under new ownership and it’s changed radically. They no longer have the hot buffet of food, although they can make a few hot things to order. They have a few different 4.99 and 5.99 type items(chicken briyani, chicken curry, etc.). The dessert case still has some Indian treats, but more American cakes now. We had the bhel puri, which was good, seemed slightly different than before(last time it had some tangy yogurt sauce in it). Chicken briyani had bone-in pieces mixed in with rice, kind of messy and I don’t like bone-in pieces in my rice/sauces. I guess that the prices overall are about the same, but now they specialize more in desserts and chaat, not the hot meals so much. Downgrade to two stars: did not really enjoy the new vibe and experience relative to what we spent. And they need to fill the knife/fork/spoon dispensers, preferable with a step up from the flimsiest stuff they’re using now.

Disappointing — their standard went down — their regular samosas are now 1⁄8th the size of the original. Felt like I paid too much for samosas as small as quarters. They also no longer make the Malabar fish curry — the rest of the curries are not memorable.

I’m so happy that Saira K. reviewed this place! I have lived so close to Rajbhog Café, but never visited. I was prompted to come here by her review. The sweet lady who worked here explained how to order. It is definitely a little confusing — so I suggest you ask for all your dining options. I did the 1 meat, 1 veg plate, and T did the 2 meats plate. Each plate comes with white or veggie rice, roti or chappati(TWO of them!), punjabi or gujarati kadi, and pickle AND a drink! I ordered the chicken curry and paneer masala as my main sides. I also did the gujarati kadi and roti with white rice. We also started off with an order of samosas. Everything was hands down delicious. The samosas were delectable and authentic. The chicken was spicy and hit the SPOT. The paneer was plentiful and just wonderful. They are a bit heavy on the ghee and oil, so it’s not exactly the healthiest but who cares — I was in heaven. I could barely get through half my meal, but they serve everything in Solo plates that have lids, so take out/to-go boxes aren’t a problem. My only gripe is exactly that — serving things in Solo plates aren’t environmentally friendly, but I sincerely doubt that’s going to change in many South Asian restaurants any time soon. Our bill was ridiculously low(about $ 24? I can’t remember) for the amount of food we had. A few tips — order, then sit down. The food is brought out to you. You pay at the end. We cannot wait to be back!
