I want to do more than like this place… I want to love it. It’s got so much going for it. Close to my home, plentiful parking, great patio, and… well that’s about it. Caught a movie that got out about 9:45pm and had to decide between downtown Decatur or Oak Grove. Looked on my phone and google said Napoleons was open to midnight. I called just to be sure. Person who answered just said hello… not«Napoleon’s, how can I help you?» Or whatever. Just«hello.» Specifically asked how long the kitchen was open… told until midnight. Yippy… we headed over. Seated on the patio because the band was REALLY loud inside. Group of four and we wanted to be able to speak to each other. Looking over the menus a friendly waitress got our drink order and gave us an additional menu with the daily specials. About 5 minutes passed and a different waiter came over and said they were on their bar menu and literally took the menus out of our hands. I realize he’d probably been there a while and was tired, but he was pretty rude about it. I explained we called before we headed over… blah blah blah. Really handled poorly. I know better than to bitch and moan and piss off the kitchen crew, so we acquiesced to the«bar menu,» but it turns out that the burgers we wanted to order off the«real» menu was also available on their«bar menu.» The entire drama could have been avoided if the waiter has just asked for our order before tripping. So that was not pleasant, but I tend to overlook service shortcomings, especially when there aren’t all that many choices in the area at that hour. But we could not overlook the terrible food. We all had burgers. We all asked for medium. The burgers all came out the same — dried out, way overcooked. The lettuce looked day old. The food runner put down the food and ran off like she knew there’d be issues. Drinks were never refreshed, we would have sent the food back but we never saw our server again — so we just tried to eat it. Bad. I had sweet potato fries — limp and cold. Mac and cheese side was disappointing. We had to go inside to find a server to bring us the check, although there were a number of off-duty servers out on the patio chatting with each other. When we got the check, the new person(maybe our guy had skipped out the backdoor, who knows?) asked if we wanted to go boxes because none of us had eaten more than half our food — and I said no — the food was not good tonight. No follow-up questions, no getting the manager. The service and the food were big fails. No one in our group was in the mood to deal with it… so we paid and split. This night was particularly bad, but I’ve been there for brunch a couple times and food seems to always be slow, portions small, and honestly… the kitchen needs some new talent because the food is just meh. It could be such a great place.

I live less than a mile away from Napoleon’s so it is super convenient for me! Although we sat inside, the patio outside is very quaint and well shaded for evening hours. I would suggest trying the Dirty Southern Fries, they were delicious. They tasted like the perfect combination between fajitas and french fries with all the toppings. For dinner I had the Chicken Club Quesadillas, which were delicious and light. I give this restaurant four stars because it was delicious, our server, Alexander, was helpful with the menu, and the overall service was very quick.

This place is a staple for me. We always go to have a few beers(which by the way, they have a great selection) or to listen to some of the fun bands they have play there. Brian, one of the managers there, is AWESOME! He is very personable and always very sweet and attentive. Speaking of personable if you sit at the bar the bartender will always learn your name, I haven’t been there once where they haven’t. I had never had brunch there until this past Sunday and let me tell you… WOW! Make sure and order the chicken and biscuits with cheddar it is TODIEFOR! aaaaand to be able to wash it down with my favorite local beer, Creature Comforts Tropicalia, was a treat. Please check this place out you won’t be disappointed!

Disappointed today, there will be sometime before I return. I have visited this establishment 3 or 4 times before and found the food to be quite good. I like the ambiance and the parking is easy. On my visit this trip something was wrong maybe it was the late Sunday afternoon visit, maybe shift change but my hamburger patty was awful, it was as it was a frozen patty left at the bottom of a freezer for years. I should have sent it back. I do not think management would have allowed this. I will return but will wait a few months.

Napoleon’s is a good restaurant in the Oak Grove community. It’s pretty much between Tucker(Northlake Mall area) and Toco Hills. SERVICE Friendly host. My friend and I were seated less than a minute of arriving. Our server, Michelle was pretty attentive and help with suggestions. INTERIOR/EXTERIOR Options of inside booths/tables/bar seating or patio outside. The ambiance was like a gastropub. Well-lit. Chill. Live music on weekends! FOOD –Chips and Dips(guac, cheese, salsa) –Pimento Cheese Burger(Medium-well) –Beets and Fiji Apple Salad Everything was good. No «wow» factor, but good food. DRINKS My friend and I both got cocktails. Strawberry Fields Forever was fruity and tasty. A little of an after taste of the whiskey rye, but it’s masked well. Deep South Summer Nights is also refreshing, Lemony and tasty.

There is not a better combination of family restaurant/neighborhood bar in Atlanta. The food is stellar, beer selection is impressive, and the staff is top notch! Definitely a reason to live in Oak Grove! Live music Thur/Fri/Sat nights.

Came here Friday for lunch first time with coworkers. It was a stunning day so we took table outside. Our server was very friendly(tall, skinny guy) and always checking up on us. I got a burger(with blue cheese) and side of sweet potato fries. Fries were not crispy and fresh out of fryer. They were kind of limp. Burger was good. Reasonable prices and good portion. Overall good experience.

Beer selection! OMG Belgian ales rock. And amazing food. I lived near here for 3 years before venturing in… what a loss. Stopped by because of Scoutmob after wrenching on my truck with a buddy. The manager? came buy and saw us drinking some good drafts, insisted we needed to try Three Taverns Heavy Bells, WOW so good. Had to come back the next evening for a full pour =) Thai tacos+++ Brunch peach pancakes+++

Has been consistently awesome each time I’ve been. Pricey but good food, great beer selection and cool atmosphere inside and on patio.

The sides here are awesome! But the service is kinda slow… and the entrees themselves could use some life. The tacos I had were dry/overcooked. Which sucks cause I had the braised beef! It should be moist and flavorful! That said, I probably shouldn’t judge this place on tacos. Next time I’ll try the sandwhiches and burgers.

The smoked wings and Bloody Marys are amazing. Try them. Other menu items are hit or miss. Nothing else has wowed me. The outdoor patio seating is lovely in nice weather. Sometimes they have mediocre live music. Nice neighborhood spot in Oak Grove.

Neighborhood restaurants nowadays are ruled with loads of chain options. It really has gotten out of control. I truly appreciate Napoleon’s as it really does take back this niche for the folks that live near it. This place has really nice menu offerings. Are they inspired dishes, no? Are they great comforting classics with a twist, sure thing. They have a pimento cheeseburger that is really something else. It is insistently well done and they do not over do the ingredients. I also appreciate their unique tweaks that they make to common fare that elevates it up a notch. Their pretzel appetizers comes with a great mustard cheese dipping sauce, their wing sauce is unique and truly their own. Classics do not need to boring, and Napoleon’s does a nice job of making sure that despite a menu offering may be standard fare there is something that is unique and enjoyable to each dish. I like the fact that this place is unpretentious on so many levels. This is a huge plus for me. I am just as comfortable there in a suit and tie as I am in shorts and a t-shirt. I am happy to kick back here and enjoy a drink on their outdoor patio anytime. In addition to the food choices, I appreciate their beer selection. There are some nice rotations in of craft beers, and their prices are great. If you need a decent, non chain, non fast food place, and you want to be guaranteed of enjoying yourself in a hassle free setting where food is good and service is good, I would recommend this place.

Came for lunch as recommended by local friends. Great casual dining for a large group. Food was good and service was friendly. Recommend the pimento cheese burger and my wife raved about the buffalo chicken wrap. Everyone in the group was happy with their order. Dinner menu not available until 5PM and live music later in evening.

I got the fish n chips. It was so good! The atmosphere is fun. The people here are great. They have live music. If you go ask for a Anette to be your server. She the best!

Legit service, and awesome trivia! I was one of last to join my table of friends last week, but apparently they’d been tucked away in the corner for a while without a waitress stopping by… so the manager came by herself, apologized, and proceeded to comp two platters of chips(including AWESOME queso that I really think was just REAL melted cheese, as it congealed after it cooled as non-uberly processed cheeses are prone to do; guac that was otherwise unremarkable, and salsa that failed to leave any impression upon me as well). But the waitress that was assigned to us shortly thereafter was great – very attentive even though our table was in the farthest reaches of the dining space. Didn’t try the beers, but the grilled cheese sandwich that I ordered as a «kids meal» was a really decently sized portion! I had to request help from trivia teammates in finishing the colossal pile of deliciously crispy fries. I’m not generally a trivia type-o-girl, but there was a real variety of questions last week that allowed almost everyone at the table to contribute a bit of knowledge. I’m a bit less savvy on the pop culture or history bits than I perhaps should be, so I was personally excited to be able to contribute to the more nerd-centric physics and bio questions! Trivia happens Wednesday nights at 8pm; bring yo friends! P. S. Parking is a breeze. P. P. S. Now why the place is called Napoleon’s, I have no idea…

The food? Delicious. I liked how much variety the menu offered, and felt like prices were very reasonable. I ordered the crab cakes and they were delicious. Service, however, was rough. We had two people going back and forth between us all night– each time they would comment that they’d be «taking over» for the previous person. It took ages to get drinks and, once our orders were placed, we didn’t see anyone at all until the food arrived.
