It’s always good to share a pleasant experience at a good store. I was recently at Kismet Jewelry store, I met three very nice people behind the counter. I was shopping for my husband for a small gift. They suggested some nice things. Very caring and very customer oriented. I appreciated their professionalism and recommend them highly. My husband loved his gift I got him would come again. They have neat stuff in the store.

Was told ring would be done in a week or maybe two but probably not. Call first week and was told will be there next week on Friday, ok not a big deal. Call Friday when supposed to pick up and was told not even sent out yet! Had to pay for parking Again and picked up to take business somewhere else! This is for my fiancée wedding ring so yes I’m super pissed!

My husband took some of my jewelry to be repaired there. Simple repairs, just replacing some broken links. They charged in excess of $ 100 for two sterling links. When he questioned them the lady started arguing with him and then began yelling. This was more than the bracelets cost, but as they had sentimental value, he paid the highway robbers. These people have no integrity and are crooks. STAYAWAY! I have since heard people complain about the bait ans switch for the watch batteries, I don’t believe they even have a $ 3.99 battery like the sign says.

We visit that place when we are at vacation to Atlanta. I didn’t expect to enter a world of miracle when I just saw it from outside. It is a gorgeous place. It is not just about jewelry. they have authentic decorations, lamps, mirrors, wall arts… just gorgeous. Just go and see what they have. I guarantee you will buy something. I haven’t even mention about how friendly owner is. She and her husband made my little girl’s day.

There are few times that I would write a review, but today I must do day. This establishment is trustworthy. They lure you in to get your business and either which the price or falsify the facts of a matter. The $ 3.99 watch batteries is a trick to get you in the store. They have a notebook with prices for various watches and dependent on how you look a price is quoted. I was quoted $ 28 and $ 10 for two watches that had the same watch battery. I got the batteries around the corner for $ 10 each at a real jewelry store. I will never darken the threshold of this establishment ever again. Be ware.

I see the prior complaints seem to be about jewelry repair and hours. But I didn’t experience that. We wandered in after lunch to look around. Its right next door to Homegrown Decatur. There’s a ton of jewelry, décor, pretty lamps and Lucky Eye items(They are Turkish and call it Mati. I am Italian and learned of that as malocchio — evil eye.) The older gentleman behind the counter was friendly and willing to help. Three of us ended up getting lucky eye things… Keychain/car ornament or bracelets. And they were $ 15 – 19 each. Not bad. They included the little printout of info on the lore. There’s a ton of stuff to look at in here. I wouldn’t expect amazing things but it’s a cool little shop for chachkies and charms.

I don’t understand how these people can afford their rent right on Decatur Square. They are never open! I literally went there three times, because I saw they had cheap watch battery changes, and they were closed all three times. One of those times was a day they were listed as open during the 2PM hour. I chose 2PM just in case the owner had to step out for lunch. No one was at the store then either. I should have called ahead to find out if they were in the store before driving over, but I took it for granted that a store would be open during the hours that are listed as open hours on their door. Silly me. That’s 40 minutes wasted right there. Judging by the review below mine, chances are that the sign saying $ 3.99 battery changes is probably a lie and I would have been charged a lot more anyway. Too bad their awkward business practices lost them a potential customer.

I got my Agnes Scott College ring sized at Kismet in Decatur. I could have gone to Herf-Jones, but classmates who tried that had to spend hours on the phone and send their rings back umpteen times. Sometimes, the rings were repackaged and sent back without any work done. I decided to go to a real jeweler instead. When I asked the cost, co-owner Sylvia Gezgin said $ 68. I let them know I am a student, that money was an object. I was surprised to be billed $ 136. When I went to pick it up, she said that was the price per size. She could not explain why she said $ 68 when I asked for an estimate of the cost of the job even though we agreed that it needed to be two sizes smaller. She did not deny she said it nor admit to making a mistake when she spoke. They did not call me to ask whether I could and would pay the additional sum. She said my number was illegible, which is odd as I heard my ring was ready to pick up in a voicemail from her. In that message, she did not mention doubling the price. I expressed my annoyance and got it down to $ 100, still $ 32 more than I owed her. When I complained, she had the audacity to say she was doing me a favor by working on my ring. This was news to me because I was the one paying her. I filed a BBB complaint this afternoon. Afterwards, I got around to inspecting the inside of the band. It is nicked and scratched. It was spotted with a black residue that flowed across my fingers when I washed my hands. My grandmother was a jeweler for many years. She would never have returned anything to a customer in that state. The Gezgins do shoddy work. They are unscrupulous enough to cheat a college student. Have a real, honest craftsperson alter and repair your jewelry. Avoid Kismet Fine Jewelry & Art.
