I hired Kgreaves Designs(a.k.a. Kerry Greaves, K Greaves Designs, LLC) for two projects at two separate properties. The first project involved installing exterior french doors. I kept having to follow up with Kerry each step of the way because it appeared that he had no clue how french doors should be installed. Firstly, a slide bolt was installed on the exterior of the doors to hold them shut. What he should have done was to equip one of the doors with a latch on the top and the bottom to keep it stationary so that the other door could fit and lock into it. I had to bring this to Kerry’s attention and request that the slide bolt be removed. A threshold should have been installed along the bottom of the doors to carry the water away from them during rain to prevent the bottom of the doors from sitting in water. It was not installed and the water pools under the doors. When a tenant complained that the doors easily jammed when there was a slight bit of moisture in the air, I asked him to inspect the top and the bottom of the doors. They weren’t painted, allowing the moisture to enter the wood grain causing them to expand. I attempted for over five months to get Kerry to go back and paint the doors but after a complete lack of response after many excuses, I had to hire someone else to complete the job. Kerry Greaves was also supposed to locate and repair a roof leak and then repair the interior damage. Several months after the job was completed, the water stain reappeared on the ceiling. When contacted, he replied that he only fixed the damage and didn’t locate and repair the leak, as was specified in the contract. I asked him to return and rectify the situation. He never responded. Another contractor is now hired to carry out the ceiling removal and leak repair. The second project was to paint the exterior of a second property. It was a painted brick house. The color that I chose was completely different from the previous color. The painters left the chimney unpainted. Once again, I attempted for over 5 months to get Kerry to go back and complete the job for which he was paid and I eventually had to pay someone else to complete the work. Overall the level of competency of Kgreaves Designs, LLC was very low and the work was very shoddy. I am presently utilizing the services of another contractor to carry out very extensive projects at one of the properties and am very happy with the new contractor’s work. I have also reported him to the Better Business Bureau, to whom he has not replied.
