I wasn’t too impressed with the selection at Houseworks in comparison to the other shops nearby it in Decatur. The prices are a bit high for the quality of the items they stock, especially in comparison to Mingei next door or Taste across the street. It’s not a bad shop by any means, just one that I usually skip to browse the other shops nearby instead.
However, Houseworks does have a decent amount of Hello Kitty items for sale. I picked up a couple of odds and ends for my niece there.

Downtown Decatur has one of the best gift shops in Dekalb county. Houseworks sells amass of trinkets and they’ve got the most extensive section of jewelry holders I’ve ever seen. I kid you not; there were about fifty different necklace and holders including twenty plus Betty Boop types. I especially loved the bizarrely contemporary «cat in the hat» like plates, cups and bowls.
Housworks is across from the MARTA station on Church Street. Keep them in mind for gifts. Also, the owner lets his cute shaggy dog roam freely in the store so if you see him walk by, don’t be alarmed.
