Not much for atmosphere but the food was over the top delicious. I got the cajun combo and the catfish was cooked perfectly with a wonderful buttery blackened spice and the ettouffe was of a sauce that for lack of a better word, was perfect. Not a bad michilada either for a cajun place.

A few things to know about the lack of frills at Frilly’s: the resturant allows smoking although it is only in the bar which is seperate so that was not a problem. The food and service are the problem. I ordered the Blackened Mahi Mahi Ixtapa. The waitress could not get my order right in the system. She kept coming back asking me what two fish I wanted when the menu clearly said Mahi Mahi. Hey lady… Mahi Mahi is not two fish… it is one fish with two names. Taste so nice they named it twice. Although this fish did not taste very nice. They over cooked it and made it very dry. The sauce was ok except you can clearly tell they use frozen shrimp in it with no color what so ever. The«cajun veggies» consisted of 99% bell peppers with a tiny bit of chopped squash in it. This dish with a glass of water cost over twenty dollars. For that price I exspected much more. The wait staff(or lack their of) leaves a lot to be desired. They all just stand around looking bored to tears not doing anything instead of picking up something and actually working. Fill a drink, wipe off a table(which really needed it)…just do SOMETHING to earn your check besides standing around gossiping with the other wait staff. They drop off your food and then disappear until you sit there forever waiting on your check and pay them. They wear no type of unifroms. Most had on black shirts with their boobs hanging out and cut off shorts with their butts hanging out. Gross! If I wanted to take my family to see that crap we would have ate at Hooter’s!!! Will not be back until someone learns how to run a family advertised business. This place was disgusting!

I had the special and it was delicious, down to the last bite! It was a Tilapia Etouffe I believe?

Love that place! They have great seafood and Cajun food. The service is always great too. I also really like those Marquita’s!

2nd update… So, I have been back to Frillys twice in as many days. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my two favorite dishes. The Cajun combo, and the shrimp fajitas. both incredibly delicious! I was indeed«wowed» like I once was in the past. The service I received from the waitstaff both yesterday, and today was spot on! Frillys is my all time favorite seafood restaurant, and I can’t wait till I get my next trip to Austin so I can come back here. Thanks to management, and staff for making things right. Bravo!

I had the oysters and for the price they were very small and unfilling. Catfish was good but not great.

Smoky(doesn’t bother me) but some it may. Fried shrimp was bland. Blackened catfish was small not very meaty strips and bland. Dirty rice was decent. Was disappointed they do not give u slaw hush puppies or n e kind of bread with your dinner. Wasn’t bad or good wouldn’t eat there again because there r better places. Waitress was nice. Atmosphere is very dark like a dive bar. Seems a lot of regular drinkers hang out there.

Don’t go here expecting Cajun food not going to happen I’ve been here twice and am sitting here now in front of a plate of crawfish étouffée or that’s what they called it, tastes like they added crawfish to canned chili. Now they do have a few good items on the menu just not the Cajun food, service was average.

This place is the worst place in Decatur. The food is inedible and the service is lousy. The only thing keeping this place afloat is the bar, and to say it is a dive bar is a compliment. Drive away in a hurry and find a place that won’t make you sick.

First off, the place is more of a dive. It looks old and I think it was once a big place to be, but is now kind of depressing. The wait staff one day looks very casual and they don’t really have a uniform. One girl was all in short shorts and low top, another was in like jeans and a big T shirt… honestly felt like they just came in off the street to serve me some food. The food is not bad at all! I like the cajun chicken alfredo! Very tasty and heavy, as an alfredo should be. The bread it comes with is also good, but probably frozen. The calamari was not good. Very rubbery and disappointing for a Louisiana kitchen type place. Never had seafood here, probably never will… kinda hard to believe it is very fresh. Kinda pricy for what you get, portions are good, but the quality is lacking. Order something you can eat a lot of and you will be fine. I agree with a lot of the reviews here: Smells like someone JUST smoked at your table.

If I could give it no stars I would. Two no smoking signs on the front door and clearly a smoking establishment. I will be burning the clothes I was wearing. Crawfish were awful! Boiled, then seasoned with a hint of dish soap. Wifey had a muffuletta, looked like a bologna and cheese sandwich. Three olive droppings, two small slices of meat and half a piece of cheese. Told waitress and got the olé’ shrugged shoulders and a sorry, here’s your bill. Next time I need some Cajun food it’s either a road trip or Popeyes!

Went there today and the crawfish was pretty good. Plenty of crawfish, but it came with«a potato and an1/8 of a ear of corn. Not enough potatoes and corn to go with the crawfish.

The staff is back from their border crossing but do they really know Louisiana Cajun cuisine? I could do better with their stolen recipe book. The inconsistency in food, management, cook staff and service stems from immigration hold ups for work visas. Open the borders and this place would do really well. Let’s just call it an evening pick up joint where the working class can get a drink, drain an eight ball, listen to music and find a local girl.

Not really worth going out of your way to try it but it is not bad. There are so many more options that are better though. I am pretty sure the caesar salad made me sick. Staff was friendly. I have emailed and contacted on facebook on multiple occasions to ask for a soft copy of the menu and get absolutely no response. They responded to someone else but skipped my request. Just say no or tell me where I can find it and everything will be fine but this blatantly ignoring my requests is rediculous. I got a groupon for to go orders… It is a 20 minute drive and if I could call my order in for to go then I would so it was ready when I got there but I have to go up there and wait for a to go order because I cannot find the menu.

While in Decatur we ate there twice. Both times it was good. We had gator, shrimp, fried pickles and jambalaya. It was all really good. The drinks were good. Service was great. The gumbo was ‘swampy’ and I couldn’t eat it… but the waitress took it off my ticket without a problem.

Stop in for dinner on a Friday evening, the first thing you notice is SMOKE; all of the doors from the bar to the dining area were wide open so you not only had the smell but also the noise. Ordered the 12 fried shrimp and a beer, the beer was lukewarm and for $ 16.95 I expected a good meal, NO, for that price you receive 12SMALL, two bite shrimp, frozen fries, a lemon slice, tartar sauce and cocktail sauce, which was ketchup with horseradish waved over it. Service was just so-so. Then a gentleman that appeared to be the manager, by his interaction with the employees, was sitting at a table drinking beer and having a young server sitting on his lap.
