My wife and I come here every so often. We enjoy the atmosphere, service and food. The food is always prepared very well with nice presentation. They are running a special full dinner that is a good selection. I don’t know why it isn’t busier, everything we have had has been good. It’s worth a try if you want something a little different.

–My glass was dirty with lipstick stains. –We were given the lunch menu instead of dinner menu –My Coconut Prawns were so spicy I couldn't eat them — I asked to get a box without the sauce in the bottom of the plate. The waitress threw out ALLOFTHENOODLESANDLEFTMEWITH3SHRIMPTHAT I PAID $ 20 for. –My friend asked to have her meal boxed and after saying okay, the waitress put a dirty plate on top of her meal to be boxed. This dining experience was UNACCEPTABLE. I am appalled and feel that I should not have had to pay for my meal that I did NOT eat and was THROWNAWAY. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Had dinner here the other night in celebration of a friends birthday. We had the whole place to ourselves at 7pm on a Saturday but by 7:30 things had filled out. I had the Masaman beef curry and it was spectacular. Next time I go, though, I will for sure have the cripsy coconut prawns. Oh. My. Had an order of hot tea afterwards which was fantastic and a round of coconut ice cream and raspberry something or other. I liked the ice cream better. It’s a bit pricey but heavy on seafood so probably to be expected. I would in a minute take a date here if I wasn’t already engaged to the love of my life. In fact, we might go on a date here. The atmosphere can’t be beat.

I’ve been here for lunch several times, and this last meal was not as good as previous visits. The PF lunch came with a salad/sate/roll trio. The sate was a bit dried out and it came with a minuscule drizzle of peanut sauce. The spring roll was not hot or crispy. The fried fish with curry has a disarming oil infused throughout, and the curry tasted a bit watered down. Green tea and red bean ice creams were both quite nice and seemed homemade. It was good, just not amazing.

Two people mentioned that they had eaten here long ago and the food was good, so I wanted to try it. So today, me and 2 other friends came here for lunch. No one left happy. We all ordered the prix fixe menu for lunch. It came with three appetizers, a tiny salad, which was okay, no taste really, a chicken satay with one piece of chicken which was okay, tasty but the quality of the chicken was not very good, and a «crab» roll which didnt seem to have any crab in it at all. It wasn’t bad, just not good. I ordered the beef dish and although it looked good and the meat was tender, I just could not eat it because the taste was so bad. It tasted like how I imagine dog meat tastes like. Or maybe dog food. Ughhh I just could not eat it. I had to trade dishes with my friend who had ordered the chicken dish. The chicken dish was okay. Definitely edible. I just think it was something I would expect to get from a chinese takeout place, not a restaurant. Our other friend ordered the fish, which although a small portion(menu says 2 fish filets but looks more like 1 filet cut in half), it looked good and friend said it was good. Lastly, for dessert I chose the green tea ice cream which was really good and my friend ordered the red bean ice cream which he says was good too. Also, the service wasn’t very good. We asked for soy sauce and the waiter brought us «sweet sauce». We again asked for SOY sauce and the waiter insisted that was SOY sauce. and we said SOY, the dark stuff. We kept repeating soy and he kept repeated soy for like 2 minutes. And he wasn’t very polite about the whole thing. And in the table next to us, the server spilled a whole glass of water on a patron…

So i kicked off taste of asia week at eurasia bistro. my dining partner(dp) and i were initially suppose to try wan lai(after reading all their raving reviews), but since they were closed on tuesdays(fooey) we figured this place was just meant to be. we stayed w/the fixed menu and ordered the black plate appetizer(which actually was a white plate as my dp pointed out), which consisted of a spring roll, chicken salad lettuce wrap, and honey glazed shrimp. i liked the shrimp the best, it reminded me of a similar cantonese dish called«walnut shrimp». for our main course, we had seared scallops and duck leg confit. the scallop was amazing, but the duck leg was really hard to get any meat off of… a good way for me to save calories i guess. i enjoyed the eggplant in curry sauce that came w it though. then we ended the meal w/green tea cake, which was very light, not too sweet, and very yummy! all in all, this rest. has nice/warm ambience for a nice dinner out.(you can even hold hands while you eat like the table next to us did:) oh and the reisling that my dp recommended was a perfect compliment to the meal!

What a wonderful place. This is truly a hidden gem. I have been there several times and always with different friends. Each time my guest have raved about the food and service. Now a few times the server has not had the best command of the english language but otherwise it has been perfect. Last trip I tried the duck and I was really impressed. I will be ordering it again on my next trip!

yeah. about asian fusion. i had the lamb. it was good. not better than good. i tried my friend’s dishes, and they were not so good. but the problem i had with the food… was that i didn’t really feel like it was asian, it wasn’t unique in any way, and it failed to match its high price. why do restaurants do this?! ambiance gets a 4. if that’s what you’re after, the food is good… just don’t expect asian food. in particular, don’t expect thai food, which a lot of their dishes aim for.

I was inspired to go here for«date night» with my wife from the reviews on Unilocal — sounded like a quiet place(under-trafficed) with terrific food. Though I have used Unilocal for quite a while, never done a review, and the experience at Eurasia inspired us to leave one. We got there fairly early(6:30) for dinner on a Saturday, and it was indeed empty(I think one other couple in the place). We were greeted and taken to a nice seat in the corner. So far so good. We were prepared to order a bottle of wine, settle in, and enjoy a nice long meal together. But what really ruined it for us was the wait staff, in particular, our waitress. She was very inpatient with us(demanding our appetizer order on her second visit and then demanding our entrée order). She also was totally oblivious to anything about wine. I had read about the stemware in Michael’s review and was ready to enjoy some wine. When I asked about wines, she claimed to know nothing… and then told me that no one in the place new anything about the wine(after demanding, «what do you want to know about the wine anyway?!»). Clearly she didn’t know anything about wine. We opted to go by the glass rather than bottle since there didn’t seem to be a price difference(and gave us greater ability to try since we couldn’t get any info…). I ordered a Syrah and my wife a Tempranillo. When she came back with a glass of red and a glass of white wine, we knew we had a problem… I also tried asking about the source of the food. I am a fan of seafood, but prefer to have whatever is the freshest, and usually that corresponds to being local. The waitress told me that the salmon was local(yeah…we have a lot of wild salmon runs around — haven’t you seen ‘em swimming up the Hooch?). Basically it was pretty clear she would tell us whatever she thought we wanted to hear(or occurred to her). So we ended up spending about half what we had planned to, mostly because the unplesant environment created by waitress. The food was fine(loved the muscles in coconut milk appetizer!) but just didn’t want to hang out. So, worth visiting… just hope you don’t get our waitress!

I’ve been to Eurasia twice now, and I let way too much time pass between visits. This place doesn’t seem to get much buzz, but everyone I go with really likes it. They have done an amazing job setting the mood inside and the dishes come out with an A+ presentation. It doesn’t stop there though… the food tastes as good as it looks. The steak and duck are my 2 recommendations for a main course and the coconut-seafood bisque is a perfect way to start your meal. If you want something different… Eurasia is your place!

The level of professionalism and quality of the food is well worth the price. I have had both the lamb and the duck entrees here, and would order them again in a heartbeat. Wonderful presentation as well. Just take a look at the shots on their website of some of the entrees, they’re beautiful. I would say Eurasia is a good spot for a date, or if you simply appreciate great wine and some unique Asian dishes. I agree with Michael, I’m surprised Eurasia isn’t busier and more of a destination for people. The food, drinks, and atmosphere are stellar and Eurasia is definitely one of my favorites in Decatur.

I still can’t believe this place isn’t packed every night. Another note on Henry: he is one of the city’s hidden sommeliers. We had a glass of wine at the bar while our table was being prepared and noticed they served it in Riedel stemware… who does that in a moderately priced restaurant in Atlanta?! When I remarked on the extravagence, Henry shrugged and said, «why not?» Yes, indeed. Why not? I dig that guy. He cares as much about the nose as the palate. Restaurants like Piebar with«cool» glassware should take a page from his playbook:

The best hidden secret in town is Eurasia in Decatur Square. It’s westernized Thai cuisine as hinted by the name that is heavy on flavor and light on price. Every time I eat there, I am amazed at the exquisite food and service. The manager named Henry is very knowledgeable about wine, so do ask him for recommendations. The flights are a nice way to try their wine selection. You must try the grilled lamb. Everything is delicious, but I won’t dilute my recommendation list with anything else. Lamb. You’ll thank me.
