If you’re reviewing a funeral home, it’s never going to be a happy story, but for the terrible and necessary affair, I’m very pleased that we went with Coker-Hawkins in Decatur. Admittedly, I don’t have any to compare them to, but I think five stars is justified. Trey and company were pleasant and answered all of our million questions. They also helped us make changes and were patient when we changed our minds. My family member looked amazing, and they even hired a hairdresser for us since we didn’t know who to call. There were some things we just couldn’t decide on and suss out so they took the lead on those as well. You don’t want to have to think about things like price at such a time, but the prices seemed reasonable to me(who doesn’t know anything about such things). The chapel is very lovely, and there are very nice sitting areas for the families to gather. There were tissues everywhere, which was a nice touch since I didn’t want to keep digging in my purse for my little packet I’d brought. Everyone we worked with was very kind and understanding. They have a website where they’ll post the obituary and a photograph as well, which I appreciated. They helped us get the obit in the paper and even delivered the funeral flowers to the nursing facility after the service. I hope you never have to call on them, but if you’re in Decatur or the surrounding area, I’d highly recommend Coker-Hawkins.
