China Buffet

Now I remember why I never go to places like this. I had a coupon so I took a couple of friends to this place.
The service was poor even though it seemed like the waiters were standing around doing nothing and the food did not taste fresh at all. It was OK but not that great.
Some people might like a place like this because they can eat a lot. This is not a place for me though

I’ve decided to choose a nostalgic place for my lucky number 88^th review. The China Buffet in Decatur, IL.
I don’t know how many times I came here while I was going to school. it was the number one choice for my ex and I to enjoy a good meal. As it is now though, I only have fragments of memories from my experiences.
This was the place I first heard the Daredevil theme by Evanescence. When the family owners were having a fight, I remember the hostess looking aghast and apologetic to the few customers that evening. The diligent little boy always doing his homework. Oh, the good times I had.
I only started liking Chinese food in 2002. China Buffet only deepened that like. Inexpensive, all you can eat is a dream come true for a starving college kid. I would pile my plate with General Tso’s, crab Rangoon, teryiaki chicken, and rice. The ex would more daintily place General Tso’s and rice on hers. We would eat. We would enjoy. And we would go on our way.
Whenever I get back to D-​town, I always check to see if the restaurant is still open. I never go, but I always check. I have a feeling that if I walked in, the same hostess would seat me and pour a diet coke. I would eat, I would reminisce about the good ol’ days, and I would enjoy.
