Authentic Dominican salon. The ladies here are so friendly, especially Yolanda, and did a great job at getting my thick hair bone straight. I have been looking for a good Dominican salon since I moved to Atlanta and Bonita’s is it! Gracias a todas las mujeres que trabajan en Bonita, especialmente a Yolanda!

I won’t be visiting this branch again. The other two branches are better. One of the ladies here was very aggressive(small brown skinned). She does not understand any English, not even when I was telling her the water was too hot or that I wanted to use my own shampoo /conditioner. She made a face when I gave them to her. When beginning to wash my hair, she put scorching hot water to my scalp twice then proceeded to DIG her long nails into my scalp(this is after digging a comb into it and leaving it soar). After I had had enough which is about 2 minutes into the wash, I lifted up my head, told her to hold on and asked for the manager at the front desk. The lady at the sink held on to my hair trying to pull me down back to the sink and saying ‘it’s okay, it’s okay.’ When the manager was finally finished with her phone conversation at the front desk she walked over to me as I sat and waited to speak with her. However to my surprise, she walked straight to the sink not even asking me what was wrong and proceeded to wash my hair. I then took it upon myself to tell her what was my concern and she barely listened to me as she ran the water over my voice. Very rude. As I sat in the chair, I could tell that they were saying something about me in Spanish. Very unprofessional. As I sat under the dryer for about half an hour, the manger walks over to my dryer and adds another 25 minutes on to the time. This was to accommodate her as she sat under the dryer so that she would not be interrupted. I wanted to give the Candler rd location a try as I had never been there before, but I will not be returning. They are unprofessional and rough on the hair. The finish was okay(hence the 2 stars) but the journey to get there was not worth it. A third person blew my hair out and styled it so I had all 3 persons in the salon work on my hair. I am trying to understand why persons that wash hair are even allowed to have long nails and why they feel it’s okay to dig and grind their nails into people’s scalp. I’m no hair stylist but I know this much… You’re supposed to wash and massage the scalp with finger tips not nails. I wish more persons in salons knew this.

Results were amazing! They provide you quick service; I got in & out within 1.5 hours. The stylists do not converse much & be sure to tell them what you want when you’re in the chair. I suggest not coming in an hour before they close; I was skimped a conditioning because of time sensitivity. Be sure to bring cash to tip because the machine doesn’t offer the option to tip on card transactions. I would definitely recommend. Next time, however, I’d like to get the services requested. Guess I’ll get a proper conditioning & trim next go-round! ;)
