What started as a terrible experience with them ended up as a great experience. First, although I had a 4 p.m. appointment, they did not call me until 5:30 p.m. By that time, my sedation had worn off and so due to my claustrophobia, I couldn’t even have the MRI completed. But Alvea was very kind and insisted I give it another try with another technician. I went two days later(they fit me into their schedule) and Laura made sure I got through it. Both of them were caring.

BEWARE!!! I used this facility for two CT scans and an X-ray in 2015. I had 3 separate appointments and had to wait well beyond my appointment time, sometimes in excess of an hour past my appointment time. After waiting for quite a while for an X-ray, the technician was not able to get the machine to work properly and when she had to use a different machine to get the X-ray which wasn’t made for the part of the body I needed X-rayed, the doctor was not able to use the image as it did not come out properly. Also, my doctor’s office had to send over multiple orders because they«lost» two of the 3 orders sent to them. This place is really a disorganized nightmare. All of those things are unfortunate instances which would have not been enough to feel the need to warn you so strongly against using this imaging facility but would have certainly have resulted in a not great rating despite the real problem I had with them. The real issue with this facility is the billing issues. I originally chose this imaging facility due to the fact that it was going to be the least expensive CT scan in my area covered by my insurance company. If I knew then what I know now, I would have gladly gone somewhere slightly more expensive to avoid the time and hassle I’ve had to go through with these people. First of all, they make you pay up front, which I understand because they want to make sure they get their money. Ok, no big deal. However, they overcharged me for one of my CT scans and undercharged me for the x-ray. Then, once they received the funds from my insurance company, they claimed they did not owe me a reimbursement for what I paid to them. It took me 2 weeks and multiple nice, then later threatening messages to even get a call back regarding my account. When I did get a call they made a lot of excuses about having not returned my phone call and told me that they simply hadn’t gotten around to processing the checks from my insurance company. I called the insurance company who told me the checks from them had been cashed weeks before by American Health Imaging and that I should not have to wait for a refund. I called them back to try to settle the matter. Again I had to wait over a week to get a callback. Once I was finally able to get a call back from them, I still had to fight to prove that my insurance had indeed paid them and that I had also paid them as their records appeared to be non-existent. Thank goodness I had paid for everything on my credit card and was able to produce statements showing the payments. Whatever you do, DONOT pay them in cash. Make sure you have proof of your payment. In the end, over a month later, I received a refund for the payments I made to them and was assured by their billing department that my account had been settled. Fast forward 6 months. They are now re-billing me for services I’ve already paid and disputed with them and was assured, 6 months ago, were completely handled. This company is, for a second time, trying to double charge me for services paid for by my insurance company and myself that they previously agreed I did not owe(I paid them, my insurance paid them, and I was REFUNDED for what I paid, it’s ridiculous that they would be so bold as to claim I still owe them money). Clearly my mistake was not getting something from them in writing to show that my account was fully paid and that they were done harassing me. Therefore, BEWARE.

I went here for an x-ray and had an excellent experience. The staff was professional, on-time, and kind. The front desk staff was clear in what information they needed and I only had to sign two forms. I was called back within a few minutes. The x-ray tech asked why I was getting an x-ray so that she could make sure to get the best pictures possible for my particular condition. She was gentle, patient, and kind. It was truly a unique medical experience. They also have extremely long hours so it was easy to find a convenient time to go there.
