My grandfather sadly passed away yesterday and after making arrangements and such at the funeral home we realized we needed some flowers as well. We’d been going to Thrifty Florist for years for birthday bouquets and other«on the spot» type arrangements but had never placed a formal order with them. Happy to report that they did a lovely job and made the process easy, which was appreciated in our grief stricken state. We walked in and the gentleman behind the counter was already helping another customer but, clearly seeing a group of sad faces, he took the time to welcome us and ask us what we were looking for. We explained to him what we needed and he took a moment, while the other woman was browsing, to get us set up with their bereavement binder and tell us some basics of what we needed to know. There isn’t a ton of space to sit in there but he did clear off a small table and brought over a couple of chairs so my grandmother could sit down. We flipped through the binder which was arranged by color and picked out a lovely yellow and white wreath, a large yellow bouquet with lots of foliage, and a yellow and white casket spray. It’s hard to gauge size so I was 100% expecting these all to be smaller than they appeared in the promo photos but they arrangements were huge and stunning. Especially for the price. It helped us all tremendously to see such beautiful flowers around him, particularly because he loved to garden. I thought it was a nice tribute. The clerk was gentle and helpful, ordering our arrangements and helping my mother pick out the accompanying ribbons and such. They managed to pull together the arrangements in less than 24 hours and delivered them to the funeral home for us. It was very nice to not have to deal with any logistics during this time. Good to see that they’re not only great when needing some celebratory blooms but that they also deliver(literally and figuratively) during the hard times too.

Bought roses off of their price-gouged rate of $ 35 for half a dozen. Got them home and into a vase and in the morning they were rotted. Never again.

Recently we sadly lost my mother and my sister heard about Thrifty Florists in Dearborn. Knowing that I prefer to call a local florist and avoid the 1800 BigBucks chain, I contacted Thrifty for a floral arrangement. Remembering that my mother liked to watch the birds with me at our house in El Cerrito, California, I was so happy to see their birdbath arrangement with two birds and lovely living plants and some flowers. Ordering online was very very easy and their site was user friendly. My family confirmed that the delivery occurred as assigned to the funeral home and my sister in Dearborn Heights has now placed the birdbath in her garden in memory of our Mom. I was so impressed with the service I recommend them for a rapid response, confirmation of delivery and beautiful flowers. Thank you Thrifty!
