I’ve been there about 10 times but won’t be back. I keep giving them another chance because I drive by there all the time. The new arrivals section doesn’t turn over. Stuff is in there for three months. Prices are good, but condition is bad. I’ve gotten a few good records there but it’s not worth my time to go in and see the same records and bad condition over and over. No listening station.

Hands down the best record store in the Detroit area. I’ve been a regular for almost ten years. Small but packed with an amazing assortment of records, CDs and tapes, both new and used of all genres of music. You can find everything from your favorite classic rock and jazz records to super obscure noise and minimal synth records no one else in town will have. The best part of the shop are owners Windy & Carl, music legends in their own right. If you’re looking for a place to go talk shop with two absolute music nuts who will be able to hook you up with fresh new sounds then Stormy Records is for you.

Honestly they have a great selection of stuff you’d be hard pressed to find at other local shops. Their prices on used vinyl tend to be on the high end but you are paying for the selection. But most importantly they take new hard to find items and rather than sell them in store they jack the price up 3x retail and put them for sale on other online sites. And unfortunately that is something i can’t support.

I love Stormy. The new location is great! The layout is spacious and the host and hostess gracious. Always willing to help find anything, or talk about music. If you just want to drool through the bins, you can. You’ll find bargains and you’ll find some rare great stuff and great prices. Stop in. You won’t be sorry.

Had the opportunity to visit Stormy Records on the weekend. I had my wife with me so o was sadly unable to do my usual deep search.
The store is well laid out, and the prices are very reasonable. The couple that work there were very friendly, knowledgable, and very willing to answer any questions.
I would definitely recommend this store for the vinyl lover. I would go back for sure!
