With Shatila near by, we came here because it had a deli, and we wanted to try some place new. The interior was not as new, but the staff were inviting and friendly. We ordered the broccoli pie, meat pie, and chicken shawarma. The chicken shawarma was only $ 3.99, and the garlic sauce was divine! The pies had a little too much bread, but it was soft. You can easily get a meal here under $ 6. The baklava was delicious, and I thought it was slightly better than Shatila because they were bigger pieces with more pistachio filling… ymmm. We got a chocolate, pistachio cake, too, and that was delish. I will try their cheese bread next time.

I’ve been coming to this place regularly for a while, and I love it! Relatively inexpensive, yet authentic and genuinely delicious. One time they accidentally gave me chicken shawarma instead of beef. With any other place, I would have taken it back, but this was honestly one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. This place is truly a jewel of Dearborn

I have been coming here for at least years. Always got breakfast for my family. The open meat pies are good. I would suggest they pay attention to the zatar. Seems to much oil. Service is decent, can be more organized.

Pros: +Great Food +Fresh +Fast Cons: –Inconsistent dinner hours The food here is great, you take a number and order, they get it ready for you and have a dining room to eat your carry out in. The chicken, beef shawarma and cheese pies here are some of the best I’ve ever head, it stands on its own in the area. One a few occasions, especially on Sunday’s, they put away the food early and only have bakery items. Dinner service at the counter should be held at consistent times or stated otherwise. Parking is ample and this place is spacious nice and clean.

New Yasmeen Bakery is an institution in Dearborn — like its other competitors(Shatilla, etc) this has been around the block for a very long time with very humble beginnings and now ships its delectable baked goods around the world — especially their unmistakable pita bread that I have even seen at Korean grocery stores. At this actual retail outlet, there is a wide variety of baked goods like meat pies, pastries, deserts, and groceries — all of which are very very delicious. We bout several bags of the pita bread to take home — wish I would have brought more. The pasties and deserts are nice — slightly more on the baked goods more so than the other stuff that Shatilla specializes in like Baklawa and Knafa, etc. I will definitely say that the interiors are screaming for an updates — especially the restrooms — would come a long way to do a massive update to the main dining room. Make it into a café with pendant lighting, dark wood walls, and shiny wood floors. This could make it into a much more palatable experience overall. Still a great place to get Middle Eastern goods and probably always will be 4 Solid Stars

We stopped at the pastry shop part of the bakery. They had a huge selection of Middle Eastern and other sweets. The food was delicious and the prices were good. Service was friendly. It’s a huge place and I would like to return to check out all that they have. I’ve noticed that they are now selling their breads in Meijer.

I was told that they have the best chicken shawarma sandwiches and so I got the chicken and beef and both sandwiches were fantastic! Definitely the best chicken shawarma sandwich I’ve had to date

I’ve been here before many times, and I had no problems but last night was a nightmare!!! I was in the area doing some shopping, and stopped in here to buy pita bread(like I always do) and decided to buy some food(30 minutes from closing) I was feeding myself, and my 5 kids so I needed a good amount of food, and I wasn’t sure how many points to purchase, so I asked for a tray– first starting with rice mixed with lentils, some stuffed cabbage, and stuffed grape leaves, and finally some okra with tomato sauce. The older gentleman had my tray labeled and bagged, while I purchased a side of yogurt with cucumbers. I got to the register and was utterly SHOCKED they charged me $ 6.00/ pound for food they would have otherwise thrown out, not the usual $ 3.99 I saw for the pricing… I have no idea WHY I was charged that much for vegan dishes. I could have spent $ 30 at a restaurant for salad, meat kabob and swarma, rice, hummus, bread, soup, and drinks but instead stupidly trusted I wouldn’t be ripped off at this establishment. By paying $ 56 for 4 packs of pita bread, nearly $ 7 for about 8 ounces of yogurt and cucumber, and $ 6/pound(#6.46) The food quality was okay, but I’m still upset that I really feel like I was ripped off by the grumpy older gentleman. I may continue to shop here for smaller items but I’ll never buy from their restaurant again ever.

Probably the best Lebanese bakery in Dearborn. Bread is so fresh. Zaatar bread is so good. Shawarma sandwiches excellent. Always drop by here when in Detroit.

1 star off of the unprofessional staff, but the food is good. I grew up on Dearborn Manaeesh and there’s is pretty good. Nice and cheesy. The mini cheese pies are the perfect snack. I would recommend this place for lunch.

I recently started a new job by New Yasmeen and had been meaning to try it. You order everything at the food counter and can eat in the bakery or take it out. My expectations for their shawarma sandwiches were sky high considering their reputation. Well, I’m happy to report that it’s as good as advertised. The absolute best chicken shawarma sandwich I have ever eaten and its not even close. Many middle eastern places will smother their sandwiches in garlic paste to cover up relatively bland chicken, and that’s where New Yasmeen stands out — they properly season the chicken and bring out all the right flavors to go with the garlic and pickles. Do yourself a favor and take home something sweet from the bakery as well.

This place has great food. Their shwarmas and pies are always excellent– fresh and warm! I’ve had several of their prepared foods such as grape leaves, hummus, etc. and have always been satisfied. The only reason I am rating this 4 stars and not 5 is due to cleanliness. Several times I have been there and the inside has been dirty such as unclean tables– makes me nervous. Last time I visited on 6÷23÷2015 the trash bins were overflowing and trash was all over the floor. There was no one in the store and the guys behind the counter were just chatting. Cleanliness is a big deal to me, so that stood out.

The rundown of the place. It has two entrances. 1 to deli another to restaurant itself. It’s very casual, with outside seating. Boyfriend got 2 eggplant stuffed in meat hot platter for $ 10 which came with meat rice. Anything extra you have to pay. I got chicken shwarma sandwich which was luke warm. This is where I started deducting stars… When I asked for extra garlic paste they have me a small container and charged .75c. I have not been charged for extra dressing especially when we dropped $ 30 on food. They also did not have honey balls, they said they ran out. Unfortunate! Another star deduction was for salad which was premade«fattoush» salad which was weighted after putting on a small plate and cost me about $ 4. Now don’t get me wrong I don’t complain if it’s good food and quality is up there, but dang, weigh the salad? I thought that was a rip off. look how small it is in the picture below On a good note, eggplant was definitely the best I ever had and spinach pies were fresh and loaded with spinach. I will be back only for pies and hopefully they will have the honey balls to try then!

No long review needed. Go there. Order their chicken shawarma. Eat it. Immediately(shawarma does not travel well). When you float back to earth, take home some of their other delectables. ENJOY!!!

Oh how I wish I lived closer to this place. Loooooove the cheese/meat bread(both on the bread) I think it’s called mashroohah??? Had one for lunch and then got three more to go, three meat breads and stewed spinach/meat in a tangy broth– heavenly delish) for lunch dinner for the rest of the week. Yes, I will eat the same thing for a whole week! Lol I wish you could get these dishes in the restaurants. All of this for $ 26. The prices went up but still fair prices. I wish they added more grilled onion to their majadra. The service isn’t very engaging, but they aren’t rude. I try to get here as often as I can. Not busy during the day, during Ramadan.

As a bakery it is par excellence but that’s not all, the shop is filled with Middle Eastern general merchandise and savories. Realistically it lives in the shadow of the more famous Shatila next door but I have no reason to believe that the quality of the bakeries is any lower. I recently catered from here for a party and everyone loved the food. Truth be told the selection of pastries is about half of Shatila and it does not have as an aesthetically pleasing of an interior but perhaps that’s what gives it more of the hole-in-the-wall underdog charm.

Visiting the bakery is an extraordinary experience if you’ve never been to a middle eastern bakery; in which i haven’t. There offer so many different things to look at. This bakery had started as a quiant shop and has now expanded and taken over several previous shops before. We came here for their cheese bread. They offer a variety of breads as well as sandwiches; schwarma, etc. We ordered the Za’atar, meat, and cheese bread. All three of these are all made to order and fresh. The best bread has to be the cheese bread. You get it and it’s so soft and cheesy. The cheese melts and it’s a delicious amalgamation of all things good. This is doubly delicious if you love a nice doughy pice of bread which is also cheesy. A must visit if you’re in the area. The breads are incredible.
