When visiting their website, no descriptions of items availble given anywhere. You will have to call the store or visit in person for ANY details. They just give you the name and price, again no details. Several items I was interested in had no prices at all! Very annoying because I need winter gear right now and perfer shopping online but not when you’re not being considerate to possible new customers.

Aside from the content reviews by fellow Unilocalers, let me comment on the staff. In one word: they continue to be fantastic. What does this actually mean? It means that when my wife tries on a pair of low cut walking boots(reduced for quick sale) one size larger than she needs, the assistant plopped in a set of insoles to show her that insoles can make shoes one size smaller. Good tip. For me, it meant finding the right pair of cargo pants without having to hunt all over the well stocked store. Tip: their clothing rotates seasonally, so if you see something in the summer that you may want for the fall or spring, snag it at that time. The staff too, quaff deeply from the happy juice bucket. Everyone, and I mean everyone is on top of their game; they all appear really into the place, which for me, gives it a great vibe… plus lightens my wallet a tad bit every time I hit the place I loved in the 70s when it was in Ann Arbor.

Best place to shop at if your in the military or any sort of law enforcement. I come here often to grab gear and they always have what i need. If you are a part of a law enforcement or military branch then you get a ten precent discount which can help since some of their stuff can be a bit pricey.

I have shopped online and in the store and both ways are great. Prices service and selection can’t be beat. If it’s for my work attire or camping needs this place has me covered. From my hiking boots to work boots and work jeans and cold weather gear WOW! This place always has it. And if you like knives I’m pretty sure they have it. Well done guys well done for a family owned store you put the big box to shame. You have my business for sure!

I love this place. The staff is knowledgeable and the selection of items is pretty vast. I’m like a kid in a candy store on their website! Prices are fair and I love the fact that I’m supporting a local — family owned small business.

Whenever I go to Detroit to see my family I always make sure to visit this landmark establishment after seeing some of their camoflouge items featured in Vogue. It has an awesome family environment. I used to go for the outdoor equipment but over the years I have been able to find great deals on items like yoga pants and backpacks! The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I totally recommend this place for anything from camping gear to work out clothing. They have an awesome selection.

Try to sell your goods to them and they’ll lowball you but the majority of their stock is brand new so that’s kind of understandable. Not the place I’d recommend to offload any surplus gear.

When the zombie apocalypse hits, you will want to hit up Harry’s first. Machetes as well as all kinds of other cool knives. Mag holders, holsters so you can arm yourself to the teeth even a concealed carry vest so they won’t know where you are hiding the secret extra stash of arms. You never know what you will need. They have survival gear aplenty, general camping gear can be found here too. I saw handcuffs, night sticks, camo as far as the eye can see. Basically everything your average paranoid conspiracy theorist would term as «basics» for«just in case». Yes I watch way too much Walking Dead but hey I definitely would go to Harry’s first thing.

I know this is a little odd I’m reviewing the army surplus place but this is in honor of my grandfather wanting to go window shopping there.(Even though I knew he wasn’t gonna buy a darn thing) I was actually surprised with their selection of clothes, security/officer supplies, camping, hunting, and etc. OMG — they sell CARGO pants too. If you are an outdoors person, then is would be your home sweet home — they have also have tents on display fully opened so that you can walk through them or laying down in. Lol! Please note — if you have a small child that likes to explore, then you might want to watch closely because there are sharp knifes/blades within reach = I would hate to watch through a see a child finger on the floor. Ewwww!!! Ok let’s wrap this up now: ***The only reason I gave them 4 stars is because my grandfather had to use the restroom and was told it was only one inside, then the person came out and told us it was two inside. The employee basically made my grandfather hold it.(How rude)

This local fixture is also a family owned business. They have camping gear, military stuff, pins, clothing and knives cause you never know. A lot of work shoes, police supplies, wool pea coats, camouflage, duffle bags, you will be surprised what you find in here. There’s even stuff for the little lady and kiddies. Everyone needs a wool army blanket. You can never be too prepared.

I’ve been to Harry’s a few times for a number of different items. They have some of the typical cheesy stuff that other surplus stores carry(i.e. camo underwear for ladies, etc.) but they have a wide selection of footwear and are often running specials. I also purchased a great tactical bag from here… they have a lot of bags, and some camping stuff too. Plus, there are always plenty of staff around to help, and I’ve had good service every time I’ve been in here. Discounts are given to public safety personnel, and I got a discount when I was an EMT student. Lots of uniform pants, probably best selection in the area for those. Admittedly they could stock more sizes for women in jackets… they have great jackets but most are men’s large sizes. They also carry useful items like trauma shears, knives, kneepads, tactical belts, etc. Check them out if you’re around, park on the street.
