Famous Hamburger – West Dearborn

The food is great, awesome place to go with friends. The service is always great as well.

Waited 15 minutes before anyone waited on us and I had to get there attention then waited there over a half hour for the food finally I asked when the food was gonna be up and it was still gonna be almost 20 minutes. This was the worse service I have ever received

Won’t go back, they have fake bacon. If you ask for real bacon they try to force this crap on you that tastes like rubber.

We went last night because someone had recommended it. The hamburger was really good as was the cole slaw but I would bet the fries had been done before and were not fresh and hot. They were also very slow in bringing our orders, even with 3 or more people in the kitchen. One thing I did notice. They sat us in the last booth near the back and right on the other side of one of our seats was where they took the dishes from the tables to put them in a bin. Noisy. And to top it all off, I had a parking ticket when I went out. Who knew that Dearborn issues tickets at 7:30 at night? I won’t be going to ANY restaurant in Dearborn unless they have their own parking lot. The ticket will cost me $ 10 which made it an expensive night.

I ordered the wrong thing and thought I got an employees burger. I left a unfair review in return. It ended up being a huge misunderstanding. The owner called me the next morning and we were able to figure out what happened. They were totally cool about it and I will deff be stopping by again soon. Moe your the man bro!
All misunderstandings aside, this place really does stand out for its cleanliness, aesthetics, and customer service.

I really wanted to love this place because it’s wild halal and the pictures of the burgers from other reviewers were A1. But alas, I am left still looking for the best burger in Detroit.
I ordered the Juicy Lucy, which is a ²⁄₃ lb. burger stuffed with american cheese that when spread apart, the cheese oozes like the lava from Mt. Vesuvius. I will put a picture up of that moment and it left me bereft of the hot, cheesy goo I was expecting to flow out of the burger like the rivers of Babylon. And another thing that sorely disappointed me is that the Juicy Lucy is already precooked to medium. So if you want a medium rare like I did, you’re out of luck.
Unfortunately, the burger was dry (which is why I order med. rare) and almost felt like I was eating meatloaf. I wish the patty was a little juicier and the cheese a little more melty.
My brother ordered the habanero chicken sandwich, of which I took a few bites. Not much to write home about, just a lightly seasoned grilled chicken breast with the addition of habanero jack cheese and jalapenos. The garlic sauce that came with it was one of the least garlicky garlic sauces I’ve ever had before, if that makes sense… I like the garlic sauce that lingers with you, as if you had a fresh clove in your mouth like hard candy.
Waffle fries and onion rings were standard.
Overall, there can be some improvement in the seasoning and construction of their burgers. I am almost positive if they cooked their Juicy Lucys to medium rare, it would have tasted so much better. But that was not an option. Would I drive 30 minutes to Dearborn for this burger again? Probably not but I think with some tweaks it could get to that level.

It is a nice and tidy place to go out with family/​friends. Our service was quick and the food was decent. My husband and I almost always order two different entrees when we try new places to get a sense of their taste. I guess it’s best to order what they’re famous for, which is their cheese burger. I liked the cheese burger over the chicken chipotle sandwich. The fries were excellent!

Great burgers, one of my favorite joints in this city. Tried all the new places, nobody can compare to the originals. These guys have been around for so long, I go to both their locations, and they know what they’re doing.

Everything that is good about the original location on Shaffer has been replicated here in busy West Dearborn. The sandwiches are great — I love the Juicy Lucy and the California burger, covered in fresh avocado. Probably my favorite aspect of the place is being able to swap out french fries for a super fresh Caesar salad — and it’s not a tiny side salad, either. It makes me feel better about pigging out on a fat half pound burger :)
The service has been great both times I’ve eaten at this location. Frequent drink refills, prompt food served piping hot.
My only complaints are that parking is rough for this location — the lot across the street specifically says they’ll tow you if you park there and go to Famous Hamburger — which means you are stuck in the parking garage a couple blocks away, and you’ll be paying for parking. You can try to grab a spot in front of Moose’s and iBurger Lounge if you’re feeling lucky.
Also — this isn’t a cheap lunch place. The food is high quality, the buns are great, but you’re paying for it. A burger, fries, and a drink will run you upwards of $ 12, so lunch for me is usually $ 15 with tip.
Definitely check out this place, whether you’re a fan of the original or just looking for a delicious, unique burger joint in West Dearborn.

love that it’s halal! nestled in the nicest place in dearborn (downtown cute area). the milkshakes got my heart beating faster (and not because it was so unhealthy!). i got vanilla mixed with snickers… it was better than it sounds.
great waffle fries, and cool seasoning you can put on it.

One of the best black bean veggie burgers I ever had. But peeps wayyyy to cheap on them fries. They give like 5. Ain’t like that at all, burger and service was real good though ain’t no hunnies workin, mostly dudes

Place is awesome! Chicken Habanero is so good I haven’t been able to try other burgers when I come here. Previously tried the Black Bean burger and it was awesome too. I love that I can swap fries for salad or sweet potato waffle fries for free. Owner came around to check on us, definitely a plus. Good business. Clean. Always had Friendly staff too.

Everything I’ve tried here is delicious, but I especially recommend any of the chicken wraps. Plus, I don’t know of anywhere else where a switch from fries to waffle fries, a salad or onion rings comes with no extra charge. My husband and I eat here often and are always pleased. So happy to once again have a great burger place in West Downtown Dearborn!

Relaxing atmosphere, nice waitress and great food. The mac n cheese bites are an amazing. Great milkshakes and burgers!

Their food is beyond amazing Especially since its halal!!! Just go. You wont regret. First time in Michigan and i did not regret trying their amazing burgers. Staff was friendly, polite, and very helpful.

Another great burger joint to satisfy your tastes.
They have a boatload of options to choose from. I went with the Juicy Lucy, which was a little greasy from the double party and large amount of cheese, but that is to be expected.
Waitresses were attentive and the manager was walking around making sure everyone was satisfied.
Will be back the next time I am in town!

Great new location, spacious with a lot of windows. Loved how the staff takes your orders on ipads. We all had modification to our complicated orders and everything came out perfect and hot.
The parking in the parking garage is now free, so no worries there. Will go back again for the amazing Philly steak cheese sub and mac n cheese bits.

I know a lot of people think that all burger places are the same, but not to me! This place has some really good burgers, the chicken and beef are fresh and «Real» not that processed patty meat! It’s kind of pricey, but trust that you’re getting what you pay for! It almost had the five guy feel, but the menu expands to wraps, salads, floats, shakes and kids meals. They also have vegetarian options! It was kind of crowded when I was here, but it was also Easter Sunday and I’m sure people really don’t want to cool. I wasn’t too crazy about the loaded nachos, but the crispy buffalo sandwich was on point!

First time in Dearborn and decided to try one of the few Halal Burger joints in the USA.
This place rock! We ordered salad instead of fries to accompany the burger and oh boy the Greek salad was meal by itself. The burger itself was really good as welll.
The young friendly staff is well trained and helpful in advising what are the favorites.
As a New Yorker I Highly recommend this place for every tourist who visit Detroit.
