Krispy Krunchy

I’ve been to Krispy Krunchy (inside the Vinery on Pelham) three or four times.
The food is pretty good. I like that there are a variety of sauces available, and their chicken is indeed crispy, with a tasty batter on it. The batter was a bit too salty for my taste, but for many people that’s probably ideal.
My bigger problem is with the store format. Very little of the food is cooked to order — it’s sitting under heat lamps unless you place a special order. An even bigger problem for me is that they don’t seem to adhere to their published hours. They are supposedly open until 8pm, but I’ve visited before 7:30pm and all the machines were off and there was no food available. I was told that they «start closing up» around 7:00pm, and sell whatever precooked food they have available left between 7pm-​8pm. If that’s the case — why don’t you publish your closing time as 7:00pm instead of 8:00?
Decent chicken hindered by poor staff. I wouldn’t really bother checking it out.
